Zombie Apocalypse: Reborn With A Farming Space

Chapter 396: An Abandoned Chess Piece ( 2 )

After that fight, they finally realized that she deliberately stained her clothes with zombie blood, masking her scent. Since she was able to kill a fire-type zombie, she must be strong. So, they decided to form a team with her.

But even after they formed a team, they still couldn't shake off the feeling of danger whenever they were with her. When she stared at them, it was as if they were being stared at by a venomous snake.

It took them another ten minutes to check all the zombies' brains. Out of 27 zombies, they only found 2 transparent crystal cores.

As per their agreement, the crystal core belonged to whoever killed the zombies. Since the crystal cores were found from the zombies killed by the girl, she pocketed the crystal cores without hesitation.

Afterward, she dragged the zombies' corpses and piled them up at the entrance of the gas station and put some near the wall.

Using the scent of the zombies, they would be able to hide their own scent. This way, they could take a break without worrying about being ambushed or trapped by the zombies.

When they were done, the sky started to change color as the sun slowly set in the western horizon. The girl walked to the minimarket and pried open the lock.

While she walked into the building, the rest of the group waited outside. They didn't know if there was a zombie inside the minimarket or not, so it was better to let her check the situation first before they went in.

They thought that they hid their intentions well. But in fact, the girl already knew that her team members always guarded against her and used her as the scout to avoid calamity.

Even though she knew that they couldn't be trusted, she didn't care much about it. After all, even her own biological father was able to discard her as if she was an abandoned chess piece, let alone strangers.

The minimarket was only 30 meters square, but the shelves were packed. Since those people were still waiting outside, she waved her hand and collected everything into her space, leaving only several bottles of mineral water and several packs of crackers.

After she was done, she went to the small room behind the counter. Raising her leg, she kicked open the locked door. Inside was packed with boxes. Seeing the supplies, she stored everything into her space without hesitation.

When she walked out of the small room, she saw her so-called team members already wolfing down the crackers and drinking the water.

She walked toward them and stared at them. The moment the men met her gaze, they stopped chewing instantly. After a moment, one of them took out a bottle of mineral water and a packet of crackers from his backpack.

He handed them to her while saying, "Boss, there are only several bottles of water and several packs of crackers. You are a girl and didn't eat much. So, we only saved this for you."

The girl glanced at them but said nothing. She took the water and cracker and went to the counter. After she sat down on the only chair in the room, she started eating and drinking.

When she was done, she closed her eyes to get some sleep. As for the rest of her team members, they could do whatever they wanted.

Seeing that she didn't say a word about getting a smaller portion of the food, the group of men heaved a sigh of relief.

They were grown-up men and needed to eat a lot. Therefore, they decided to give her a small pack of crackers and divide the rest of the food between themselves.

After eating, they locked the door and blocked it using the shelves. Only after they were sure that the windows and door were secured did they dare to sit on the ground and get some sleep.

While the group was finally able to get their rest, the survivors who were running toward other directions were not as lucky as them. For several reasons, the zombies were not dispersing. Instead, more and more gathered.

After several hours of running, their legs finally gave up on them. As they no longer had the energy to run, they soon ended up as the zombies' food. In less than an hour, all of the survivors were torn apart by the zombies and died a horrible death.

When the red moon rose into the dark sky, what was left was only pieces of torn clothes and sticky blood on the ground. As the zombies roaming around, the night deepened.

Early the next morning before the sunrise, the girl had already woken up and went to check the warehouse at the gas station. Since the metal door was locked, she climbed into the warehouse through the small window located on the second floor.

The warehouse was only a hundred meters square, but it had two floors. The second floor stored boxes of supplies sold in the minimarket. She waved her hand and took everything away.

Afterward, she went to the first floor. Besides rows of gas cylinders, there were more than twenty oil barrels stored inside. Each barrel contained around 160 liters of oil.

Without hesitation, she took everything away. When she was done, she went out through the small window again and went to fill the motorbikes' fuel. With so much oil stored in her space, she didn't have to worry about not having enough gas.

At seven o'clock, the sun rose higher, and the group of men finally came out of the minimarket. When they saw her already filling the gas, they quickly walked over, and one of them asked, "Boss, when did you wake up?"

"I just woke up," the girl replied while checking her watch.

"It's not early anymore. We have to leave now," she added.

Since there was no more food in this place, they had to go to another place to get some food. So, everyone nodded and went to get their backpack.
