Zombie Apocalypse: I Have Safe Zone Superpower

Chapter 96: Future Based On Past

"Shh! Are you stupid? I have told you. Only my uncle and I know this method of communication. He must have had some important tasks for me and hence used such a method." Ronan answered with confidence.

Mark gulped nervously, still looking around. "But… It's too quiet here. I've got a bad feeling."

Ronan rolled his eyes and crossed his arms. "You're just scared of the dark. Relax."

Just then, footsteps echoed from behind a wall. All three of them turned their heads sharply.

From the shadows, Silas stepped out. His eyes were cold, darker than they had ever seen. He wasn't wearing his usual military gear, just a plain black jacket and gloves. But something about him looked terrifying.

"C-Captain Silas?" Peter asked hesitantly.

Silas didn't answer.

Ronan forced a laugh. "Sir? What are you doing here?"

Before he could finish, Silas grabbed him by the collar and slammed him against the wall.

"Sir? Sir, what are you doing?" Ronan's voice trembled. How he wished to grow a pair of wings and fly away.

'What has happened to this guy? Why is he here?'

"You monster," Silas growled. "Do you enjoy hurting people who can't even fight back?"

"What?! What are you talking about?!" Ronan shouted, struggling. "I didn't do anything!"

Mark and Peter backed away, shocked.

Silas, however, wasn't in the mood to hear his excuses. He did understand that Ronan was technically innocent now, since the future had not arrived.

But so what? Should he sit like a duck and wait for the future to happen before punishing him? Heh! In his dreams!

Silas didn't wait. He pulled Ronan off the wall and slammed him onto the ground. The impact made Ronan cry out in pain.

"Stop! Please!" Ronan begged, trying to crawl away.

But Silas grabbed his leg and dragged him back. "You think you can escape after what I saw?"

He kicked Ronan in the side, then again in the ribs. Ronan coughed and groaned, clutching his stomach.

Peter shouted, "Captain, please stop! He doesn't know what's going on!"

Silas ignored him and landed punch after punch on Ronan's face. Even those punches couldn't calm the rage in his mind.

The killing intent surrounding him was so intense that Mark and Peter were scared. They didn't dare to stay there and turned to run away.

However, just as they took their first step, Henry's calm voice sounded, "Where to?"

Mark's soul almost left his body, and he tried to quibble, "Henry, what you're both doing is illegal!"

Henry laughed as if he had heard a joke, "Oh, Mark… if I didn't know what you all three have done, I would have been fooled by your innocent demeanor."

He slowly walked up to them, his tall stature casting a shadow on them, as he continued,

"I did a little digging on your past, and guess what I got to know?"

Henry could see color draining from Mark's and Peter's faces and chuckled,

"You have r*ped 12 women till now, one murder, and trafficked 5 kids by now."

Ronan, Mark, and Peter's faces paled. How did Henry know? Sh*t! They are doomed.

"We… we only did that because someone instructed us!" Mark tried to justify, but what he replied was a slap on the face.

"Don't f*ck with me." Henry's face turned dark; his aura had transformed from that of a goofy guy to a warrior. "The day we took the oath and became soldiers, we were taught to protect the people. People like you don't deserve to be a soldier."

Silas heard everything Henry had said, and his face turned a frightening shade of dark. On a closer look… the future is always based on the past.

The trio committed such heinous deeds before the apocalypse, though they were terrified of doing such deeds; their inner devil couldn't help but incite them.

So what if they had received the orders from above? They could always decline. And yet…

Silas gritted his teeth. He was the foolish one. Because of his negligence, Ivy was harmed in the end. But… it was still not late.

"Henry, after this over, I want a comprehensive background investigation on each and every soldier. Use all the connections you want. Bribe them with food supplies and get the info, but… I don't want to see this kind of bug in the soldier's compound anymore."

"Yes, captain." Henry saluted before turning his attention to Mark and Peter. A smirk appeared on his face as he walked to Mark and Peter.

Whoosh.

Whoosh.

For the next 1 hour, a brutal one-sided battle ensued. In between, Ronan tried to fight back, but compared to Silas, he was like a chick challenging a lion.

Mark and Peter tried to run away, but Henry easily beat them up and subdued them. By the time everything was over, Ronan, Mark, and Peter were left on a single breath.

"Don't kill them," Silas ordered coldly. "Their lives will be used to pay off the debt they owe."

Ronan shuddered with fear and shouted," You can't kill me! Uncle Frank will… not let you off!"

His entire face had swelled like a pig's head, while blood seeped from his nose, teeth. His body wasn't in a better condition. He heavily suspected that his ribcage had been broken, as well as the bones in his hands and legs.

Till now, he endured everything, thinking he could run off to Frank and take revenge on these b*stards. But now… hearing them talking about murdering all three of them… filled him with dread.

If he died here… maybe even Uncle Frank won't know the mystery behind his death.

"Your Uncle Frank isn't going to have a good time either," Henry said with a chuckle, "By the time he would realise that his precious nephew is missing, your game would be over. But don't worry, my captain will make sure that you all don't get even a proper funeral."

"No!" That was all the trio could scream before they were knocked out.

Silas stood up and ordered, "Ask others to drag them to our secret basement."
