Chapter 124: Secrets
For the next few days, Silas tried his best to stay at home and take care of Ivy. Though she hardly had any period cramps, Silas didn't dare to take a risk.
Staging at the young man, Ivy was lost in thought. When did Silas become so attentive? Well, the answer lies in the past.
During one of her periods, she experienced period cramps. It was so unbearable that she fainted from pain. When she woke up, Silas was by her side. At that time, he had promised to take care of her going forward and never let a period make her suffer so much.
Ivy watched with a dazed expression as Silas made food in the kitchen and wondered if time could stop. Silas made her feel as if she were his wife and pampered her like she was his world. Only with him and her parents does she even feel a sense of belonging to this world.
"Let's eat." Silas's gentle voice broke Ivy's daze, and she nodded. After the dinner, Silas stood up and cleaned up the dishes.
"There are still a few things that require my attention. I will leave for now. Don't leave the house." He warned as he wore the shoe.
Ivy nodded, and once he left, she returned to her routine. Lately, she felt a bit moody, and whenever she was moody… she beat the Ravencroft family up.
Leisurely, she walked toward her room and took out the trio from her Temporal Storage. Once outside, they all lay motionlessly on the ground.
After being by Ivy's side for a month or so, they learnt the hard way that there was no escape, and the repeated torture took a toll on them.
Their eye were somewhat sunken, cheeks had turned hollow. Various scars marred their body, and some of them were even infected.
Ivy was surprised at the fact that they still hadn't recovered. In her previous life, she was beaten even more viciously every single day, but she recovered within a week.
Anyways, if the Ravencroft family was destined to die after getting infected, then so be it. She doesn't want to keep them alive either.
"Ivy! Ivy! My dear child! Please! Please give me some water! I haven't drunk any water for 3 days! Seraphina begged. The sound of the clothes rustling echoed in the room as Seraphina tried to crawl toward Ivy.
Ivy maintained the distance, raised an eyebrow, before leaving the room. Returning, she had three cups of water. Each of them was filled with just 2 teaspoons, 3 teaspoons, and 5 teaspoons of water.
"So let's begin today's competition. As you know, the person with the most injuries will lose, while the person with the fewest injuries will win." Ivy clapped her hands and lay back.
She watched as Isla rushed toward Seraphina, and though her mobility was severely restricted because she was bound by ropes, her vicious mind had already made a tactic.
Ivy watched with interest as Isla used her head to beat Seraphina, while Seraphina used her legs to attack. The scuffle continued for a while before a victor emerged.
Seraphina. In terms of viciousness, Isla still couldn't surpass Seraphina. Suddenly, Seraphina turned toward silent Magnus, and she attacked him.
Magnus had tried to gain the advantage by staying out of the fight, but how can Seraphina let him have an easy win?
A fight broke out again, but this time Magnus emerged as the victor. Unsatisfied with the result, Isla shouted, "Father! Please! Give me your cup of water! I am too thirsty!"
"Hmph! Don't play the pity card on me. Didn't you beat me up a week ago just for a half glass of water?" All the tenderness Magnus ever felt toward his daughter had long ago vanished.
Now all he felt was rage and the feeling of vengeance in his heart for this pair of poisonous mother and daughter. Compared to them… Ivy was far better.
Magnus recalled how Ivy used to make him warm porridge during the winter, and even adjusted the room temperature for him when he returned from work.
From ironing his clothes to making him lunch. Everything was done by Ivy while Seraphina and Isla stayed aside coldly and received his love. They did the least while Ivy did the most, and yet he pampered only his blood relative who wouldn't hesitate to attack him for food.
'If only… if only I had treated Ivy a bit better, maybe I wouldn't have ended up in such condition. This pair of vicious mother and daughter… they were the reason why I was so harsh toward Ivy! Ah! What a sin!'
Magnus pretended to have completely forgotten that he was the one who abused Ivy physically, and he was under no one's influence at that time.
"Alright! Since we have our winner. We will end this game for now." Ivy clapped her hands, and suddenly Isla shouted, "Stop! Ivy! I have a secret! As long as you give me that glass with more water, I will tell you."
Seraphina and Magnus suddenly had an ominous premonition. Subconsciously, they looked at each other, but seeing each other's face, their face turned into distaste, and they looked away.
"Oh? What is it?" Ivy asked with interest.
"Don't you want to know how we found you? And why did we abuse you so much?" Isla asked, her swollen pig face looking a bit comical.
Ivy raised an eyebrow; her attention was completely drawn by Isla's second question, and she hovered her hand on the glass with the most water.
"Go ahead and say it."
"No! Don't!" Seraphina shouted. Then she tried her best to crawl toward her daughter, but was kicked away instead.
"You..." Seraphina was furious, but Isla, blinded by thirst, continued, "Though I don't know where they found you, I did know that they found a note saying, as long as they abuse you, our house will prosper. There was even a note saying that we should keep you away from milk."
