Zombie Apocalypse: I Have Safe Zone Superpower

Chapter 125: Abuse

"Shut up! Shut up!" Seraphina shouted, but Isla felt smug. Whatever needs to be told has already been said.

'This time, Ivy will reward me handsomely! Ah! Water! I can finally drink water!' Isla thought joyfully. She was a bit delirious from hunger and thirst, and hence let out such a huge secret without any hesitation.

Seraphina closed her eyes in despair. She was planning to use these secrets as a trump card and get a better deal for all of them, but now… her good daughter had ruined all the hopes.

Hate and resentment filled Seraphina's heart. 'Till now, I always thought that since Ivy isn't related to me by blood, she would betray me. But in the end, it is my own daughter who pushed me into the abyss.'

Ivy stared at them before chuckling. Slowly, her chuckle transformed into chilling laughter, making the Ravencroft family shiver in fright.

"What a bunch of stupid people." She muttered as she wiped the tears from the corner of her eyes, "And you all believed that bullsh*t?"

"Or what! Our condition indeed improved! Trust me, Ivy, you should try self-harm; maybe you will reap the benefit too." Isla proposed.

"If going by your logic, should he…" Ivy pointed at Magnus, "...be promoted now? Shouldn't you all be wealthy? Why did your savings of $50,000 remain $50,000 even after so many years?"

Ivy's questions made Magnus and Seraphina's faces turn pale before green. They knew the truth. They, too, had long ago suspected that maybe the words written on the note were bullsh*t and yet… they didn't stop because… they found it stress relieving.

"No… we did progress… like… my grade! Yes! My grades improved after abusing you!" Isla was adamant in her belief, but Ivy mocked her,

"Did you forget the part where you went around s*cking our professor and teacher's d*ck to do so?"

Magnus and Seraphina's faces turned pale, and they looked at Isla in disbelief. Their daughter… so shameful! Eventually, the couple fell silent and realized that they had slowly transformed their own daughter into a stupid and vicious person.

"Alright. I will keep my word. The water will still belong to Magnus, and since I didn't promise Isla anything and she said those words on her own, I bear no responsibility to give her the cup with the most water."

Then, ignoring Isla's protest and tantrum, Ivy shoved the water down their throat and stored them in the Temporal Storage. Just as she was about to leave, she received a message from Edward.

Her mood, which had plummeted, soared as she stared at the message. Mayor Daniel was desperate for food and most likely would sell his land for food!

In the past few days, with the help of her superpower, Ivy picked up 5600 packets of rice. Now, if she multiplied them…

Excited Ivy changed her clothes and rushed out. The situation outside the military base had worsened. The zombies had increased.

For Ivy, though, it was nothing. Soon she reached Daniel's plot, and there she met Edward. With a warm smile, he greeted her, "Hello, Ivy."

"Hello." Ivy nodded and asked, "So… has he truly been discussing with his family about selling the land?"

"Yes." Edward confirmed, his masculine voice echoed as he continued, "I eavesdropped a little and they have long ago run out of the food and are trying to find buyers for the plot."

Ivy's eyes brightened, "Alright then. You can leave now, your remaining payment will be delivered by me by evening."

Edward's face lit up, and he nodded, "Alright then. I will have to thank you." Not once did he ask about the real boss. Sometimes it's better to work in silence and not question too much.

After Edward left, Ivy made her way to the small house at the edge of the field and knocked on the door. She waited in anticipation, and soon the door was opened.

"Who are you?" Daniel's wary voice sounded. Though his name and Silas's father's sounded the same, both of them were completely different. Silas's father was more strategic and patriotic. Mayor Daniel, on the other hand, was a paranoid but greedy man.

"Hello, sir, I am Ivy. I am interested in buying this plot and just happened to hear that you plan to sell it. As long as the price is reasonable, I would like to buy the plot."

Mayor Daniel narrowed his eyes, "Why do you even want this plot?"

Seeing the suspicion in his eyes, Ivy chuckled in her heart. In the earlier years of the apocalypse, land was the most useless asset. Especially the non-agricultural land, which the Mayor owns. So her proposal of buying the land will indeed make him suspicious.

"You see, I plan to set up my business here. From my perspective, the apocalypse will end soon. So I thought it would be great if I could take this chance to buy a plot." Ivy continued with her naive facade.

Mayor Daniel's eyes widened, and he almost wanted to drag the young lady inside. How can he stumble across such a fool and not slaughter her?

According to the information he had received, the apocalypse will most likely last for a decade, and the worst possibility was… these zombies might become their new reality.

Not once did he doubt the info, purely because it was released to him by someone in power. And maybe even the general public had understood this truth, hence no one was ready to buy his land.

But now...

"Young lady, please come inside." He motioned. He wasn't worried that she was some kind of assassin sent by an opposition party.

Most of his enemies had already died due to the zombie apocalypse, and those who had remained are either saving their ass or dealing with food issues like him.

Once Ivy entered, she observed the house before turning toward the Mayor, "So I won't beat around the bush, can you quote a price?"
