Zombie Apocalypse: I Have Safe Zone Superpower

Chapter 113: Donation

From Henry's perspective, he could see his terrifying future. His captain was blinded by love. If his lover suddenly told him that she wanted to feast on Henry's blood and flesh… he might truly…

No… he needs to switch sides. His eyes fell on Ivy's back, and a tempting thought appeared in his mind.

Unaware of the rebellion in his subordinate's mind, Silas calmly walked up to Ivy, took her hand, and wiped it with meticulous care.

Ivy stared at Silas's serious front profile and let him do whatever he wanted. For the first time, she realized just how easy her revenge journey had become due to Silas.

"Clean up," Silas ordered while leading Ivy away. He didn't care what his subordinate thought… no, to be precise, he knew that his subordinate trusted him and wouldn't do anything that was unnecessary.

On reaching the apartment, Ivy took a shower and lay on the bed. She thought she wouldn't sleep at all, but to her surprise, the moment Silas pulled her in his arms and rhythmically patted her back, her trembling body relaxed.

It was only then did Ivy realized that she was trembling… maybe she wasn't as strong as she seemed. She was filled with various questions.

Was her rebirth just given to her for taking revenge? Or was it for a greater cause? What if the entity that had allowed her to be reincarnated after seeing her deed took away this life, too?

This was the first time Ivy killed someone with her own hands. Though she had killed Patrick, too… but he was in a way completely different from Ronan.

"You did the right thing, Ivy." The familiar soothing voice sounded near her ears, making her tense heart relaxed a bit, "It is survival, Ivy. If you hadn't killed Ronan, he might have colluded with your enemies and made your life miserable. S don't think much."

A soft, warm kiss landed on her forehead, and Silas's voice echoed, "You did amazing, and you are on the right path. Don't worry too much, love. With me here… no one can harm you."

Ivy closed her eyes under Silas's constant consolement. It was too alluring, and she couldn't stop herself from slowly falling asleep.

...…

The next day.

When Ivy woke up, Silas had long ago left. On the table were the piping hot dishes and a note stating that she should eat the breakfast before leaving and should not cook lunch for herself since a portion of food was left for her in the refrigerator.

Ivy's heart warmed, and she stored the note in her space like all the other notes Silas had written to her. It was these little notes that she missed the most in her previous life.

Just as Ivy finished her breakfast, she received a call from Edward. Her eyes lit up, and she picked up the call with great expectation.

Edward didn't disappoint her.

"The mayor has arrived."

"Good. Keep an eye on him and let me know when he becomes desperate enough to sell the land for food. I will then convey the message to the real employer." Ivy lied without batting an eye.

Edward gave a soft 'hm' before hanging up.

For the next few days, Ivy's life was a bit monotonous. She would eat breakfast, go out to hunt zombies, and collect space crystals, then return home, absorb the space crystals, and do a physical workout as well as combat training with Silas.

Occasionally, she heard how the people in the military base didn't have enough food and couldn't even afford more than one meal a day.

Though the situation seemed extreme to many, the reality was… something even worse was going to happen.

The moment Ivy gave 40,000 packets of fluoroquinolones and metronidazole, he submitted it to the military and specifically mentioned that the medicine was donated by Ivy.

Since the packing was completely different from the medicine issued by the government, no one doubted that the Blackthorn family had stolen the medicine. Even when General Frank had asked the Blackthorn Family to submit the exact same amount of medicine that had been stolen, everyone only felt pity for them.

That was that. But no one dared to step in and talk on behalf of the Blackthorn family, fearing they might be implicated like the other generals who had supported Daniel.

They knew that this time the Blackthorn family was destined to be wiped away. Who would have thought that their youngest son would still have a trump card?

The foolish girl whom he had been chasing was ready to donate so much medicine on his behalf…

General Frank, on the other hand, suffered such a shock that he was silent during the entire meeting.

After the meeting was over, Daniel and Talia pulled Silas into Daniel's office and questioned him,

"Is it true? Did Ivy truly give you these medicines? Are you lying on her behalf so that she can make a good impression on us?"

Daniel's biting words didn't faze Silas; instead, he looked at his father with indifference and said,

"Old man, believe me, or not. You are sounding ridiculous. With me around, Ivy doesn't even need to make a good impression on you all. I am ready to cut off all the ties with you for her. Don't worry, I will honour you by providing for your old age. But other than that… I still think you are being delusional."

Daniel: (·•᷄‎ࡇ•᷅ )

"And don't use the high-sounding words like 'impression', I feel like laughing. If she wants, I am ready to become her house husband."

Talia: (¬_¬") Go on. Save our family's supply by filling our stomachs with dog food!

"Anyways. The medicine was indeed given by Ivy." He confirmed.

Talia suppressed the urge to slap off the smug expression from her brother's face and asked,

"So… I have a favor to ask… can she fulfill it? I am ready to pay her handsomely."

"Is it related to medicine?" Silas asked.

Talia nodded hesitantly.
