You’re Supposed To Be The Villain, But You Effortlessly Win Over The Female Leads?

Chapter 41:

Chapter 41:

Since Jiang Feng agreed to appear on the show, Jiang Yuan’s anger seemed to dissipate. Knowing he had to get up early the next day, Jiang Feng made an excuse and retreated to his room to receive the memories of this world.

As he approached the door to his second-floor room, Jiang Nan followed behind him, sneering, “Xiao Feng, are you trying to kick my mom and me out? Dream on. So what if he’s your dad? He’s married to my mom now, can’t you see? Even though you hate her so much, your dad doesn’t care at all. He doesn’t love you.”

Jiang Nan’s voice sounded like a taunting demon, his eyes filled with jealousy and venomous coldness.

Jiang Feng shrugged, his tone indifferent. “So what? He’s still my dad, even if he doesn’t love me.”

“You—!!”

“What about me?” Jiang Feng raised his head arrogantly and continued with contempt, “Why do I drink, party, and smoke? Because I can. I’m still his son. But you? You have to act like a goody-two-shoes every single day because you’re not his son. You’re too scared to step out of line. Pathetic.”

Without waiting for Jiang Nan’s response, Jiang Feng strode into his room with a confident swagger, ignoring the rage burning in Jiang Nan’s eyes.

Once inside, Jiang Feng immediately began receiving the original owner’s memories. As the flood of memories hit him, his expression darkened. Over the years, Jiang Feng had learned to keep his emotions in check and wouldn’t normally get worked up over trivial matters. But as he absorbed the memories, anger flared within him.

The original owner of this body was also named Jiang Feng, the son of an entrepreneur named Jiang Yuan. Jiang Yuan owned a mid-sized company with an annual income in the tens of millions, making him moderately wealthy.

When the original Jiang Feng was eight, his mother passed away. Not long after, Jiang Yuan remarried without consulting his son, marrying a woman named Xiao Xue, who had a son of her own, Jiang Nan, around the same age as Jiang Feng.

Jiang Nan, having grown up without a father, was far more cunning than the sheltered and naive Jiang Feng. The original Jiang Feng stood no chance against Jiang Nan’s manipulations. Over time, Jiang Nan successfully drove a wedge between Jiang Feng and his father, worsening their already strained relationship.

In a desperate attempt to get his father’s attention, or perhaps just to anger him, Jiang Feng began smoking, drinking, and partying.

Then, one day, Jiang Nan discovered a reality show called The Metamorphosis and secretly signed Jiang Feng up for it. To everyone’s surprise, Jiang Feng was selected.

Jiang Nan also managed to get himself onto the show, as well as the heroine from another city—Bai Qingqing. Bai Qingqing was the pampered daughter of a wealthy family from the capital, spoiled and arrogant since childhood.

Under Jiang Nan’s influence, Jiang Feng and Bai Qingqing clashed frequently, bickering almost every day. Meanwhile, Jiang Nan played the role of the peacemaker, coming off as the calm, mature “big brother.”

As a result, not only did Bai Qingqing develop a fondness for Jiang Nan, but the viewers saw him as a national hero, a role model. Meanwhile, Jiang Feng became the target of ridicule and contempt. The show’s audience turned against him, and the most unpleasant, degrading tasks were always assigned to him. He spent his days feeding pigs, washing and picking vegetables—work he had never done before in his life.

Exhausted and in pain after each day’s labor, Jiang Feng still couldn’t escape the scorn of others. Even his father only had praise for Jiang Nan, dismissing his own son as worthless.

The show’s editing made things even worse. The production team highlighted every outburst of his, painting him as erratic and hot-headed. Overnight, he became a hated figure online.

Jiang Nan, on the other hand, continued to play the perfect “big brother,” always stepping in with words like, “Xiao Feng, calm down. Apologize to them.” Or, “I’ll apologize for Xiao Feng, I’m his big brother.”

With a soft, gentle tone, Jiang Nan would say the most aggravating things. Jiang Feng felt like every punch he threw landed on a cushion of air—no impact, no result. It was as if his anger had no effect.

What hurt the most was that even his own father stood by Jiang Nan’s side, eventually giving Jiang Nan shares in his company.

Jiang Feng’s lips curled into a bitter smile. The original Jiang Feng was straightforward, always speaking his mind and wearing his emotions on his sleeve. But in the right circumstances, that kind of honesty could actually be an asset, something people admired.

Jiang Feng began to pack his things for the trip to the countryside.

Since electronics like computers and phones weren’t allowed, he decided to bring a voice recorder instead.

If the show’s editing turned out to be unfair, the recordings would come in handy.

He didn’t have time to buy new books, so he ordered an e-book reader and downloaded a variety of books onto it. Half of his suitcase was filled with clothes and shoes, while the other half was packed with new toiletries and daily necessities.
