You’re Supposed To Be The Villain, But You Effortlessly Win Over The Female Leads?

Chapter 40:

Chapter 40:

When Jiang Feng opened his eyes, a middle-aged man stood before him, dressed in a well-tailored suit with perfectly groomed hair. His eyes blazed with anger.

“You must participate in this show! Look at you now—smoking, drinking, clubbing. Is this what I worked so hard to support you for?” the man fumed.

Jiang Yuan sneered. “Look at Xiao Nan, how sensible he is. He even washes Xiao Aunt’s feet every day when he comes home. And you? I’m lucky if you don’t make me furious.”

The woman beside him, draped in gold and silver, smirked. “Oh, my dear, Xiao Nan suffered with me growing up. Unlike Xiao Feng, who was pampered his whole life. It’s no wonder he doesn’t want to join ‘Metamorphosis.’”

Metamorphosis?

Jiang Feng caught the key word. He knew the show—city kids swapped lives with rural kids. The city kids went to the countryside to experience hardship, returning with newfound gratitude, while rural kids got a taste of urban life.

He glanced around. A single-family villa with a large, private yard. Through the floor-to-ceiling windows, several luxury cars were visible. So, he was the city kid destined for the swap.

[Breeze! This time, the world is based on ‘Metamorphosis.’ The wish belongs to Jiang Feng, the son of the man in front of you!]

Jiang Feng felt a wave of understanding wash over him.

[Can I refuse to participate in this show?] he asked.

[No, and you can’t deviate too much from the original character. The original owner has a single wish. He doesn’t think he’s done anything wrong but doesn’t understand why everyone on the show scolded him. He wants you to act exactly like him. He also left a message for you.]

A message?

[Tell me.]

The system hesitated, then responded: [The original owner said that after being on ‘Metamorphosis,’ everyone called him hopeless and lazy. He wants you to sleep until the sun is high, wake up late, go to bed early, and refuse to work during the day. Despite this, you must be praised by everyone online.]

Jiang Feng was stunned.

So many demands? He had never seen a mission with such specific requirements before. The thought of quitting crossed his mind.

Noticing his hesitation, the system added, [But the points for this mission are doubled!]

Jiang Feng’s eyes lit up. [I’m in!]

Jiang Yuan, standing before Jiang Feng, grew more furious as the silence stretched on. “It doesn’t matter if you don’t respond. You’re going to participate in this show! The crew will arrive tomorrow, and you need to learn some humility. If you don’t, you’re worthless!”

Just then, a young man came down the stairs.

“Dad, don’t be angry. You know how my brother is. You’ll only hurt your health,” he said calmly.

Jiang Nan turned to Jiang Feng with a gentle smile, though his eyes betrayed deep contempt. “Brother, you know Dad’s health isn’t great, yet you keep upsetting him. He just wants you to gain some life experience. You should understand his good intentions.”

Jiang Feng observed the young man, realizing he must be Xiao Nan, the stepson his father had praised earlier. He looked like the typical son favored by a stepmother. Even without knowing much about the original Jiang Feng’s character, he could sense the family dynamics at play.

Jiang Feng responded sharply, “My dad’s talking to me. What’s it to you? You keep calling him ‘Dad,’ but he’s my dad!” He raised his eyebrows, looking like a kid whose father was being stolen away. “I’m his son. You have no place to meddle. You’re acting like some peacemaker, but you’re just making things worse.”

Jiang Nan’s smile faltered. “Brother, I didn’t mean anything like that. You’re misunderstanding—”

“Misunderstanding? You’re the one talking nonsense about me upsetting my dad. He’s my father—of course, I don’t want to make him angry! You want me to join the show? Fine, I’ll join!” Jiang Feng snapped, then turned to his father with a scowl. “Dad, can you kick them out when I get back from the show?”

He sighed dramatically. “Whatever, it’s not like my opinion matters anyway.”

Jiang Yuan’s heart ached seeing his son’s aggrieved expression. Despite everything, he loved Jiang Feng. He was, after all, his only son. But somehow, their relationship had grown strained over the years. Every time Jiang Yuan tried to mend their bond, his efforts seemed futile.

Though Jiang Feng’s words were stubborn and resentful, Jiang Yuan felt his anger subside. He longed to comfort his son, but his pride as a boss held him back. His attempt to soften his tone came out harsher than intended.

“Fine, but don’t embarrass me on that show!”
