Wizard: I Can Refine Everything

Chapter 77: Furnace Fire Spirit

Richard caught the hammer, only to feel a heaviness in his grip, reminiscent of the sensation when he first held the Bottle World.

"Goodness, without a Titan's physique, I doubt anyone could wield their weapons comfortably."

The power of the Abyss surged within Richard, just enough for him to hold the hammer steady.

At the same time, the Miracle Furnace provided some information.

[Raw material: Special Titan's Hammer]

[Refining Consumption: 20 spiritual power]

Without hesitation, Richard immediately chose to extract. In an instant, Richard's vision blurred, and the hammer in his hand vanished into thin air, only to reappear as a miniaturized version within the fire of the Furnace.

A moment later, the hammer returned, with two glows now emanating from the Miracle Furnace.

Receiving the blueprint and skills, Richard was suddenly consumed by visions anew.

He had been learning forging techniques since childhood, mastering them even before reaching adulthood. Coinciding with a time of war, he took up his hammer and headed to the frontline.

Titans are a rare race, and compared to other races, which are numerous as grains of sand, only one to two hundred thousand Shepherd Star Titans could be deployed in a world.

To make up for their lack of numbers, they had to rely on quality.

Every piece of equipment for the frontline Shepherd Star Titans was custom-made by war blacksmiths.

In his vision, Richard constantly tailored and repaired equipment for the soldiers at the front lines, his extraordinary skills honed even further in the process.

But wars have their defeats, and on one battlefield, the enemy breached the Shepherd Star Titans' defenses, pushing deep into their rear.

It was during this unexpected turn that Richard, or rather the dead Titan, transformed the hammer into his weapon.

As time passed, Richard's skills became increasingly refined, during which he continually returned to the front lines, hunting powerful enemies to refine his combat skills.

Finally, after countless years of honing, his skills reached their zenith.

With that, the vision ceased.

"...Hmm, these visions really make you question your own identity."

Richard rubbed his eyes, pulling his mind free from the visions. The most troublesome part of skill extraction was these visions—the more complex and complete the technology, the more vivid the visions they brought.

If Richard weren't already a Five Rings Great Wizard, he might have mistaken himself for the previous owner of the hammer.

But fortunately, Richard had sufficient spiritual power and a strong will.

The visions were harmless to him—in fact, they served as a form of willpower training and mental fortification.

After extracting the skills, Richard felt an immense familiarity with the hammer in his hand.

"What a marvelous thing. The Balancing Hand can finally retire."

From the blueprint, this hammer fused the life's wisdom of that war blacksmith—a masterpiece of his accomplishments.

This hammer isn't merely a close-combat weapon; the Shepherd Star Titans aren't a civilization that only pursues physique evolution.

The Titan Rune Array integrated into this hammer can amplify ordinary Four Elements Witchcraft by a million energy levels. For those energy witchcrafts, the hammer further enhances their penetration ability, effectively raising their energy level by nearly three million.

Undoubtedly, this is a weapon even a Six Rings Wizard would consider a top-notch quality.

However, Richard can't currently utilize these features.

Shepherd Star Titan's weapons are all custom-made, and although the Life Core Lock on this hammer has been lifted, the basic Bloodline Lock remains.

Richard must possess the Shepherd Star Titan's bloodline to use the augmentation features of this hammer.

Yet, even if he can't use the enhancements, the hammer's intrinsic quality is sufficient for Richard.

The hammer's base material is something called Boundary Annihilation Stone, which only appears when a world perishes, its quality astonishingly high.

A palm-sized piece of this stone weighs as much as a mountain, a material akin to a neutron star in a fantasy world.

In Richard's hand, this warhammer is a typical long-handled warhammer. Though its size has been enlarged by the Power of Mystery, the handle stretches hundreds of meters, comparable to the massive mountain ranges found only in large worlds.

Not to mention it has an enormous hammer head.

With such mass, just swinging it would make even a level 6 creature shy away.

Moreover, the material isn't composed of the Four Elements, making it immune to the Great Fragmentation Skill and various matter-splitting rules.

Grasping the hammer, Richard started searching within the tower for the hidden technology of the Titans.

This base was a Spark Base; it must contain an abundance of technical data to facilitate the reconstruction of civilization later.

Yet to Richard's surprise, despite searching the tower for a long while, he found not a trace of technology.

It seemed as if the Titans had simply built themselves a tomb, taking their knowledge with them to the Netherworld upon their passing.

"No, the Titans couldn't possibly leave nothing behind—I must be missing something."

Frowning, Richard returned to the location of that Sealing Array.

Given that the Spark Base had prepared an all-out annihilation contingency, it stood to reason the Titans would leave something behind.

They even took time to construct such a tower, surely they had time to carve some text into stone, didn't they?

Just as Richard was deep in thought, a voice suddenly sounded in his ear.

"Richard, come quickly, I encountered a monster!"

Monster?

Richard was slightly taken aback, then a trace of gloom appeared on his face.

The Titans are already in this state, so the other two races probably aren't doing any better.

"I'll be right there, hold on."

After speaking, Richard shouted to the main control, "Main control, can you teleport me to another space?"

[Permission granted, please wait]

In the cold voice of the main control, the space around Richard began to slowly distort.

However, Richard quickly discovered that the distortion seemed to be disrupted by something.

"Hmm? So the Boundary Annihilation Stone has this effect as well?"

Richard looked at the hammer in his hand; the space around this hammer was exceptionally stable, as if there were dozens of space anchors placed around it.

This was likely prepared to prevent some kind of space technique from damaging the hammer.

However, at the moment, Richard did not need this function.

Opening a Space Rift, Richard tossed the Titan's Hammer into it. Immediately, the distortion of the space around him intensified.

In an instant, a sudden whirl spun his vision, turning the world into distorted colors.

When his sight returned to normal, he was already on a pitch-black plain.

"Hmm?"

Richard glanced around. The plain he was on had turned into a sea of fire. The black flames were like some sort of magic, turning all soil and stone they touched into magma.

He captured a flame, grinding it in his hand.

"Are these Ulysses' flames? No, just similar in nature, but these flames are much more powerful than Ulysses'."

Watching the flames spread from his fingertips, Richard casually extinguished them, searching for Ulysses' location.

The main control's teleportation wouldn't put him far from Ulysses.

Bang!

A thunderous roar pointed Richard in the right direction. Less than five hundred kilometers ahead, Ulysses, like a Fire Element Lord, was entangled with a creature almost identical to him.

"Richard, lend me a hand, we need to use your furnace to burn this thing!"

Ulysses, noticing Richard's arrival, immediately flew towards him, with the monster close behind.

Richard eyed the monster, casually slicing open a Space Rift and retrieving the Titan's Hammer from it.

The newly acquired Titan's Hammer was just right for practicing against this monster.

With that thought, the runes on Richard lit up, and he swung the war hammer mightily.

Under the Titan's Hammer's inherent space stabilization effect, the swing seemed ordinary — without even a Space Rift, seemingly lacking power.

Moreover, pure physical attacks on elemental creatures, which have no fixed form, would have their power halved.

A hint of disdain flashed in the monster's eyes as it ignored the hammer, charging directly at Richard's body.

"If I could devour this guy's body, my strength might..."

Boom!

The winds and clouds shifted color.

At the moment of contact, a fierce force, like a wild dragon, shattered the monster's body.

The remnants created a gale that instantly split the space's cloud layer.

"What nonsense, it couldn't even withstand a single blow."

Richard looked at the monster smashed by the single blow, a trace of disdain flashing on his face. Beside him, Ulysses, watching the vanishing monster, was so shocked that his beak wouldn't close.

He knew Richard was strong, but never thought Richard could be this strong!

The flame monster like him had reached the limit of a Level 5 creature, and even a Level 6 creature might not take it down.

After a while, Ulysses came back to his senses, a hint of urgency flashing in his eyes.

"Richard, we have to leave here quickly, that thing is unkillable. The more you kill it, the stronger it becomes after revival."

"Unkillable?"

Upon hearing this, Richard's interest was piqued.

"I've never seen something unkillable before. Where's this thing's source?"

"...I'm telling you this to advise you to leave," Ulysses said with a hint of helplessness in his voice. "The real body of that thing is a furnace, and it resembles your furnace.

That monster is formed from the fire of that furnace."

"Then can't we just destroy that furnace?" Richard asked in confusion.

"If it could be destroyed, would I still be wasting my breath here?" Ulysses' voice turned even more helpless, "That furnace is stronger than this Furnace Fire Spirit. If it weren't for the furnace being trapped by the Furnace Man's array in this space, I would have turned to ashes long ago."

"Then we have more reason to go there," a hint of excitement flashed on Richard's face.

"That thing is likely a furnace worshiped by the Furnace Man, if we can purify it, it would definitely be a great treasure!"
