Wizard: I Can Refine Everything

Chapter 31: Abyss War Resurgence

The sound of the council bell made the Nobles' hearts tighten.

In the ancient past, when the Complete Lord had just suppressed the Abyss and the land was still filled with numerous Abyss Demons, their ancestors would answer the bell's call and convene in the council hall to discuss the next plans with the Divine King.

But... this tradition is too old.

So old that not even the oldest Earth Goblins have witnessed this tradition.

They didn't know what clothes to wear, what etiquette to perform upon seeing the Divine King, or what greetings to say. They didn't know whether to ring a bell or raise their hands when speaking at the meeting, or what polite language to use when debating with the Divine King...

For a moment, the Nobles in the Royal Capital were in a fluster.

"Quick, quick, prepare the ceremonial dress!"

"This is a meeting, what ceremonial dress? We should wear military uniforms!"

"You're all wrong; these dresses are what we've come up with over the years. There were no such dresses in ancient times. We should be wearing armor instead!"

...

The three bell chimes ended quickly. After a flurry of activity, six Clan Leaders in attire of varying styles arrived at the conference room.

The Mechanical God King looked at his six juniors with some curiosity, puzzled as to why his juniors were dressed like peacocks. The decorations on them were enough to be weighed by the pound.

However, he didn't have any complaints about this.

As for clothing styles, it's natural for them to change over so many years.

He raised his hand slightly: "Sit down, everyone, I have some questions to ask you."

The bodies of several Clan Leaders stiffened, and they were about to perform etiquette, but it seemed their Divine King didn't care much about that.

The Divine King's orders could not be disobeyed, and the few Clan Leaders immediately found chairs nearby to sit on.

The center of the council hall was a massive stone round table. Several Clan Leaders sat around the table, then nervously awaited the Divine King's speech, or rather, the Divine King's Oracle.

The Mechanical God King saw their tension and smiled, "No need to be nervous, I'm not an Abyss Demon. I think you should already know the situation; my brother has been corrupted by the Abyss, and it could use his power to break the seal at any time."

The words of the Mechanical God King left many Clan Leaders stunned.

What did it mean that the Divine King's brother was corrupted by the Abyss? Could the Divine King also be corrupted?

Seeing their confused eyes, the Mechanical God King felt something was amiss. Could it be that these juniors of his weren't aware of this matter? Or was the fact that his brother was corrupted deliberately hidden?

"You don't know about this?"

"My Lord, we..."

"We have already made arrangements, my Lord," one Noble Clan Leader quickly answered.

"We have already sent people into the Flesh Capital to help them build a defensive line to prepare for the upcoming war. Furthermore, all the high-level factories in the Royal Court are undergoing production line changes, ready to start weapon manufacturing at any time."

Hearing this, the Mechanical God King's eyes lit up.

"Well done. I didn't expect you to be so efficient after so many years. How's the situation next door?"

"That we do not know."

The Mechanical God King nodded slightly. Since the sides weren't one entity, information barriers were normal.

"Since you've already begun, then continue. I'm going to check on my brother next, and if conditions allow, I'll wait until you've completed the first line of defense before taking action."

"Yes, my Lord."

The Mechanical God King vanished from the council hall, and the Clan Leader who had quickly answered slumped into his chair, disregarding any noble decorum.

"Lorin, why did you deceive the Divine King?" one Noble Clan Leader asked, "We don't know any of this information; all those arrangements you mentioned are just those bastards..."

"Shh!"

The Noble Clan Leader referred to as Lorin abruptly made a hush gesture.

"My friend, stop using the term 'bastards.' Haven't you realized the reality yet? Our war with the Abyss is about to start again! From now on, we'll be fighting alongside... ordinary Goblins.

I can assure you, if you dare use the term 'bastards' in front of the Divine King, only death awaits you.

We are no longer irreplaceable!"

The Lorin family, among the six great families of the Royal Court, was the closest to the Master of All Machines Church, and itself was also the guardian of the Royal Court Guards and many Knight Orders.

The rebellion of the Royal Court faction this time only began with his support.

So Lorin understood better than anyone present how terrifying the commoners they once called bastards have become.

Not to mention, the team of Royal Court Guards he dispatched disappeared without a trace. Just the elite troops sent by the Church Faction to cleanse the Royal Court Faction were enough to leave him in fear.

That army, riding on a train like an unstoppable arrow, regarded nothing from district lords to Red Cardinals as feeble as paper in front of them.

If that army had been a bit stronger or more numerous, we, the Nobles, would have been completely reduced to lower-tier products.

We face difficulties in reproduction and don't grow quickly, and in front of these new Artificial Knights, we have no allure at all. Moreover, what's even more terrifying is, we have lost our influence among the commoners.

For a long time, arrogance made those Nobles sent away from the Royal Court to the local places disdainful of dealing with commoners. Even when interacting with factory owners, it was only for money or slaves.

In such circumstances, the Miracle Sect completely occupied the niche of the government.

In this situation, if they dare to call others lowborn, the Divine King would kill them before those lowborn could act.

"What has this world come to? Can't even call them lowborn?" the Noble Clan Leader complained.

But reality does not shift according to personal will; they are all Clan Leaders, the smartest or most scheming among each group.

They understand compromise better than ordinary people.

"Send someone to contact...," the speaking Noble Clan Leader paused, awkwardly saying, "that Tai'er. We must talk to him. The Divine King has stepped down from the throne; the greater situation must be considered."

The greater situation...

Lorin bitterly smiled inside, relying on such things to share power; these fellow clansmen seemed to still live in the illusion that they are Nobles.

...

The Mechanical God King didn't know how much his subordinates had messed things up over the years. At this moment, he was traveling through the Void, preparing to take a look at his brother's condition.

Buzz!

Above the Royal Capital of the Flesh King's Court, a Space Rift appeared out of thin air. The Mechanical God King walked out of it, gazing solemnly at the Royal Capital beneath him, now transformed into a flesh monster.

Under the Abyss Erosion, the flesh grew into wood, stone, and even metal. The entire Royal Capital had now been converted into an Abyss Nest.

Inside the nest, the Mechanical God King could clearly sense stable Life Sources one after another. However, these lives seemed to be in the incubation stage, so the Life Sources, though vast, were very stable.

The Mechanical God King watched this scene, sadness in his eyes as deep as the ocean.

He seemed to sneer, perhaps mocking himself as he laughed, "My brother, you look so ugly now. I remember you loved beauty the most, even carving designs on your Armor. But... how did you end up like this?"

The Flesh Royal Capital below didn't respond, naturally offering no answer.

The Mechanical God King collected his sorrow, reminiscing to be done after the war. But now, he has no brothers.

A layer of Crystal spread from his crystalline body, quickly transforming into Armor that enveloped his flesh body.

Then, with a thought, a subtle Energy Wave emitted from him, merging into the Void.

If Richard were here, he would surely recognize this as the same reconnaissance method as the Star Realm Fortress's reconnaissance array.

Soon, a light curtain appeared before the Divine King's eyes. The reconnaissance results showed his brother's Energy Wave was very unstable, and the rules within were gradually breaking and disappearing in the struggle.

This was an excellent outcome because his brother hadn't been completely transformed yet. If he acted now, he could likely end the battle quickly.

But he chose not to act now.

He scanned around the Royal Capital; a vast defensive line was being constructed. Countless Goblins worked on the line like ants.

If he were to act now, undoubtedly, this not yet completed massive defensive line would be riddled with holes by Abyss Demons.

His King told him, once the Abyss spreads, his acquired Strength would decrease while his enemies would grow stronger. If he couldn't end the battle swiftly, once the Abyss spreads, he would undoubtedly face a losing situation.

But then again, if he could seize this opportunity to resolve the demons swiftly, the flaws in the defense line wouldn't matter.

The Mechanical God King pondered for a long time before he decided to first check on the sealing of the Supreme Sacred Mountain.

The Supreme Sacred Mountain once suppressed an Abyss Demon no weaker than a fully complete master. If the Supreme Sacred Mountain had no issues, now would be the best time.

But if the Supreme Sacred Mountain had problems, he could only make plans after the defensive line was completed.

Although he felt his Strength now rivaled the master of completeness back then, he didn't have the confidence to end the battle swiftly with one against two.

In Goblin legends, the Supreme Sacred Mountain existed, yet no one knew where it was.

No map in the goblin world marked the location of the Supreme Sacred Mountain.

But just because it's not on the map doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

Following memory, the Mechanical God King spent half a day finding the Supreme Sacred Mountain. Unlike ordinary people's imagination, the Supreme Sacred Mountain wasn't tall; the highest point was only five hundred meters.

It was located at the boundary between the Flesh King's Court and the Mechanical Court; in other words, the two royal courts deliberately centered it and divided the two courts.

The Supreme Sacred Mountain was lush, beasts and birds chirped in the forest, appearing peaceful.

The Mechanical God King landed on the mountain, quietly placing his hand on the exposed mountain wall. This peak was transformed from the body of the master of completeness; as long as it didn't shatter, the Abyss Demons couldn't escape.

After a round of investigation, a trace of surprise flashed across the Mechanical God King's face.

Though the sealing had some issues, overall, it was still quite complete.

Without hesitation, the Mechanical God King immediately made a decision.

"Since that's the case, let's swiftly resolve this!"

But he didn't notice a slight rift at the base of the mountain faintly emitting dark red light.
