Witches: Starting as a Lord Marrying a Wife

Chapter 73: Chapter 73: A Rising Tide

David hid behind the mountain, carefully observing the battlefield.

Once he confirmed that the strongest member of the Holy Light Knights was only a fourth-tier earth knight, he acted decisively.

Of course, he wasn't foolish enough to engage personally. Instead, he utilized the Frostwolf Soul to channel ice energy, creating a snow spirit.

Though merely a projection, the snow spirit wielded power equivalent to a fourth-tier being. With its mastery over ice manipulation, the Winter Curse, and advanced ice elemental talents, David was confident he could defeat the fourth-tier Holy Light Knight.

The moment the battle began, David unleashed his full strength.

Silently, the freezing power swept through the area, encasing the Holy Light Knights in ice one by one. Even Charlie, the fourth-tier earth knight, could only rely on his Holy Light to resist.

Ordinary Holy Light Knights stood no chance against the overwhelming frost.

The ice froze everything, extinguishing all life in its path.

In the blink of an eye, the battlefield transformed into a frozen wasteland, leaving only Charlie and the captured earth witch.

The earth witch's eyes widened in shock.

As a witch, she could clearly sense the terrifying might of this ice power—it was the level of a mid-tier fourth-rank sorcerer!

She couldn't believe that someone so powerful had come to her rescue. Ice sorcerers of this caliber were rare, even among their witch allies.

Rosalia, hiding in the distance, was equally astonished.

The snow spirit's immense power made her think of the Crystal Song family, but she knew that their current snow spirit knights weren't this strong and couldn't command such potent ice energy.

"Damn sorcerer," Charlie muttered, his expression twisting with fury.

He hadn't expected the Northlands to harbor a hidden mid-tier fourth-rank sorcerer.

As a Holy Light Knight, retreat wasn't an option. He resolved to capture this ice sorcerer and deliver him to the Church.

"Holy Light Slash!"

Charlie charged forward, Holy Light coalescing around him. In an instant, he became a streak of radiance aimed directly at the snow spirit.

David, controlling the snow spirit, formed an ice shield to block the attack.

Simultaneously, he willed the surrounding ice elements to form razor-sharp blades that shot toward Charlie.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Charlie's Holy Light shield flickered under the relentless assault.

David pushed his control over ice to its limits, continuously bombarding Charlie with ice blades while the frigid energy enveloped him.

Crack! Crack!

Charlie felt an intense chill seeping into his body. Even the Holy Light shield couldn't fully block the bone-chilling cold.

Winter Curse!

David unleashed the Winter Curse, amplifying its power. Even without fully accumulating frost energy in his opponent's body, the curse began to slow Charlie's movements.

This was the strength of a fourth-tier sorcerer.

In equal combat, sorcerers held a decisive advantage over knights. Even Charlie's Holy Light, typically effective against sorcery, couldn't turn the tide.

"Sorcerer, the Holy Maiden will not spare you!" Charlie shouted, despair evident on his face as he realized the gap in power.

David dismissed the threat with indifference.

Not just this knight—the day would come when he would uproot the entire Church.

Crack!

As the battle continued, frost crept over Charlie's body, freezing him stiff.

Seizing the moment, David directed all his ice energy into a devastating Frostwolf Breath. A violent snowstorm engulfed Charlie, swallowing him whole.

When the storm subsided, Charlie was encased in a block of ice.

David exhaled cold air as the ethereal snow spirit raised its hand, shattering the ice sculpture into dust. Charlie, the fourth-tier Holy Light Knight, was no more.

With his opponent vanquished, David turned his attention elsewhere.

Rosalia, who had been marveling at the ice sorcerer's power, suddenly felt a chill run down her spine.

Without hesitation, she activated her shadow magic, vanishing from her hiding spot just as a wave of frost engulfed the area.

The snow spirit pursued, stopping to glare coldly at the shadowy forest.

David realized that an unexpected shadow witch had been watching. Unfortunately, his battle with Charlie had drained much of his spiritual energy. Otherwise, he would have dealt with her as well.

After scanning the area and sensing no further threats, David approached the earth witch.

With a flick of his mind, the icy chains binding her shattered, granting her freedom.

Using his spiritual power, David summoned a cold wind to lift the weary witch and carried her away.

---

Not long after, in a mountain cave, the earth witch sat before David.

Seeing the ice sorcerer transform back into a young man, she was stunned.

When the snow spirit dissipated into a streak of silver light, merging into David's brow, she immediately realized that this young man was her savior.

Such a powerful snow spirit was merely a spell summoned by him!

And he was so young—completely unlike the mid-tier sorcerers she had imagined.

"Sir, thank you for saving my life," the earth witch said, bowing deeply. Gratitude and admiration filled her gaze.

Whether for rescuing her or for his extraordinary power, she was utterly impressed.

David studied the earth witch.

She was a striking figure, her curvaceous form radiating vitality. Her full, firm chest rose and fell beneath her robes, adding a hint of allure to her earthy presence. Her movements carried a subtle grace, with every gesture exuding the warmth and richness of the land.

Closing his eyes briefly to refocus, David coughed lightly. "What are your plans now?"

The earth witch hesitated for a moment before replying, "My identity as a witch is exposed. I have nowhere to go. Please, take me in."

"Very well. You'll come with me," David said, handing her a hooded robe.

Beaming with relief,

the earth witch accepted the robe and followed David, determined to stay by the side of the man who had saved her life.
