NOVEL WEB Chapter 594: Dog Girl
Hmm… Judging by her ears and tail… I think she's one of those Inucanis people who are essentially the people with dog-like characteristics, right?
And last I remembered… I think they had some kind of rivalry with the Maochattes?
I was certainly surprised to see that the Pirate Lord wasn't some giant, muscled man that I pictured him to be… So I was just gaping up at the dog girl and unsure of how I should be reacting when I now know that all this time… The Pirate Lord was some super hot dog girl with a large chest and ass and… Oh my god, those legs look like they go on forever.
She's practically a sex symbol…
Yet somehow, she still had that aura of danger where if you got close to her, you would get cut.
The other pirates were also staring at her in surprise and it seems like the only person who wasn't surprised about this reveal was Matsumoto who only shook his head while letting out a sigh.
"You wanted to know why I knew that Matsumoto never betrayed me?" The Pirate Lord asked, glaring at Helen. "It's because you still thought I was a man inside this Power Armour, didn't you?"
Even though Helen didn't answer, the look on her face was enough to tell us that she thought so too.
The Pirate Lord tilted her chin at her, "Hmph. Pathetic. You really thought you were two steps ahead of me this entire time when I was the one ahead of you."
Helen recovered from her surprise and rolled her eyes dramatically, "Ok, fine. I admit that I was definitely not expecting the one I thought to be a fat bastard to turn out to be a vindictive bitch instead. So what? You don't have your main weapon and your little right hand man over there is capable, I'll give him that, but even he can't face this many people on his own, can he?"
The Pirate Lord drew the two katanas on his… Errr… I mean on her waist and activated them.
Unlike Matsumoto's swords that only had the blades out when activated, hers had a metal blade which had an energy lining the edges when it was activated.
She sniffed at Helen, "Who do you think taught him those skills?"
Without warning, the Pirate Lord slashed out her sword and an arc of energy went flying forward.
Helen barely managed to duck in time to avoid it but the energy projectile continued flying forward until it reached the pirates behind her, cutting through three of them in an instant before the energy dissipated.
Those three pirates that had been unfortunate enough to be standing where they slowly fell onto the ground, their body splitting into half from where they had been cut.
That seemed to be the cue as both sides started firing at each other.
The Pirate Lord spun her katanas in front of her and deflected all the bullets away from her, going so far as to deflect them back to the ones that shot them at her accurately.
She wasn't even struggling to do so either despite the hail of bullets flying at her and she made it look like she was doing it so effortlessly.
The good thing was that no one was shooting in our direction in the moment so we were not in danger right now. But still… That woman already said that she basically wasn't going to let us off after she dealt with the Pirate Lord so it was clear which side we should be helping right now.
And it seems like my girls also thought the same thing I did as Ries detached my shotgun from her backpack and tossed it to me alongside my ammo belt which she had brought along in case I had to abandon my Power Armour.
In unison, we started shooting at Helen's pirates as well, using my deactivated Power Armour as cover just like the pirates on the Pirate Lord's side were using her Power Armour as cover as well.
The only ones who weren't in cover were Matsumoto and that Pirate Lord who were just standing at the front and deflecting the bullets being fired towards them.
Not only that, the Pirate Lord was even slashing out her sword in between her deflecting to throw out energy slashes that cut down swaths of the pirates like they were wheat before a scythe.
That Helen woman was obviously not amused that her plan didn't seem to be working as well as she thought, especially since it looked like the Pirate Lord didn't even get weaker from the loss of her Power Armour but instead, it looked like she got even stronger instead.
And I was totally expecting her to be leading the charge but she had chosen to hide behind the other pirates instead, the woman already taking cover behind the door to take pot shots at the Pirate Lord before ducking behind the cover again.
Still… With how we were already low on ammunition after dealing with all the androids, I don't think we would be able to deal with all of these pirates on our own unless Amber and Mara used their powers to wipe them out…
Just as I thought of that, something suddenly crashed down in between us, sending a shockwave that sent the pirates on the other side flying back while we were forced to hold on to the Power Armour to brace ourselves.
When the dust settled, I realised that the dark figure from earlier had returned and he was slowly getting back up on his feet before looking left and right like he was assessing the situation.
What the fuck? Wasn't this guy dead?
The Helen woman immediately popped out from the corner and pointed in our direction, "Finally you show up!! Hurry up and help us get rid of them!! You said you could deal with their Power Armours so I accelerated the plan! Now how do you explain this?!"
Wait… Are you telling me that the Helen woman wasn't even the mastermind for this mutiny? Was she just conspiring with someone else to do this to begin with?
The dark figure didn't even acknowledge her and simply continued watching both sides without saying anything.
The figure then suddenly lifted his hands up into the air before both of them suddenly split and shifted like they were made of liquid before they reformed into what looked like cannon barrels.
Without even a moment's hesitation, he lowered his arms to point one of the barrels at Helen's side and the other at the Pirate Lord's side.
There was only a second's pause before both of the cannons fired and blew up both sides without mercy.
Helen's pirates didn't stand a chance as several of them were blasted into bits but the Pirate Lord managed to withstand the blast thanks to the Power Armour tanking it for them.
Right as we thought things couldn't get any worse, two more of the dark figures crashed down beside the first one and both their arms also transformed into cannon barrels to start firing at everyone else around them.
There are more of them?! Who are these people?!
We had to take cover as well as the whole entire platform was riddled with explosions coming from those three dark figures and even when we returned fire, none of our attacks seemed to be effective as they simply healed any gun shot wounds inflicted on them.
The Pirate Lord tried to slash an energy wave at them and despite the projectile cutting through their torso, they immediately patched themselves up without even slowing down their fire rate at all.
Are these guys immortal or something?!
Helen's pirates began focusing their fire on the three figures instead, which worked in our favour because those three also decided to start focusing their attention on the other group instead of us.
The Pirate Lord then took the chance to point at the stairs behind us, "Go! All of you, go now!!"
I guess since these two were already fighting each other, we might as well just slip away right now.
"But what about the Power Armours?" I asked.
"Leave them!! With any luck, we can come back for them later! Or would you rather die here instead?!"
I most certainly would not want that… We'll definitely come back since this was something Ries made for me and I would not want to abandon it.
All of us turned and ran down the stairs, aiming for the door at the end of the pathway while the dark figures continued to rain fire on Helen's pirates.
Thankfully, no one tried to stop us so we managed to make it through the door without any problems which led to a white corridor that stretched onwards with the only way out being another door at the far end.
We decided not to stop here and continued running for the next area, even as the explosions behind us got fainter and fainter.
We only finally stopped after going through that door, all of us pausing to catch our breaths after an ordeal like that.
