What Do You Mean I'm The Captain Of A Yandere Mercenary Company?

All of us stared at the crowd of androids that simply surrounded us without doing anything.

What's going on now? First they try to kill us, next they're just standing there…

I wasn't the only one who thought so as the others were also looking at the androids in confusion, though they still made sure their weapons were raised and ready to fire at any time.

"What's… What are they doing?" One of the pirates asked.

"I don't know… Maybe they're mocking us or something?"

"Maybe there's some kind of restriction where they can't get close to us here?

Wait… Is it…

I turned back to look at the pedestal that we were currently surrounding.

I quickly realised that it wasn't actually a pedestal but more of a console that was mounted on a stand instead.

Unfortunately, there was still a shield around it and when I tried to push my hand through it, I found my hand pressing up against a solid wall instead. So this wasn't the type of shield you could just walk through.

Hmm… Do they have some kind of command in place that restricts them from getting close to this console? They weren't even shooting at us anymore so maybe the command also extended to stopping them from attacking anyone around this console?

Well… That's all just speculation but even if that's true… It doesn't change the fact that we're surrounded…

Should we just start firing at them anyway?

Before any of us could decide what to do, the androids suddenly parted and a figure approached us from within their ranks.

I say figure because it was literally a completely black figure in the shape of a person walking towards us.

Oh wait a minute… This was the exact same figure that we saw on the video files that was messing with the androids at the research station!

So he didn't look like that on video because of some editing but it's just because he actually looked like that?!

Wait a minute, who is this guy anyway?

The figure stopped at the very edge of the crowd and seemed to regard us with his featureless face.

In turn, I also inspected the figure closely, trying to figure out how this guy managed to make himself look like a three dimensional shadow.

For a very brief moment, it looked like his body shimmered like the surface of a pool but then that disappeared, making me think that I might have just imagined it.

The Pirate Lord was the first to break the silence as he pointed his finger at the shadow figure, "Now who are you?"

The featureless shadow turned to look at the Pirate Lord but said nothing.

That was when the shadow figure's body very visibly shimmered again, this time looking like his entire body was glitching out like what you might see on a broken television screen.

He then returned back to normal before suddenly lunging towards the Pirate Lord, his hand out stretched in a grabbing motion.

The Pirate Lord wasn't impressed and simply rotated his wrist to fire the arm mounted cannon at the charging figure.

I watched as the explosive struck the shadow figure in the chest and blew his chest open.

But instead of the organs and blood I was expecting to see, the explosion left a large gaping hole on that guy's chest and revealed his insides were also completely black and solid.

The figure stumbled back from the explosion and looked down at his chest, as though confused on how the hole even got there in the first place.

Then, right in front of us, the surface of his body shimmered again and the hole got smaller and smaller until it was completely gone, leaving not even a mark at where the hole had been.

"What the fuck was that?" I could help but ask.

The figure then turned to me and as though he was offended that I even spoke out loud, he switched his target to me and tried to lunge at me.

Like what the Pirate Lord did, I also raised my arm to shoot at it, though it wasn't just me who fired at it but my girls also began unloading their guns at the figure as well.

The shadow figure ended up being shredded to bits with the combined firepower of the girls and myself to the point that his entire body got eviscerated.

When we stopped firing, we were greeted with the sight of the figure stumbling back while his body was quite literally littered with holes all around.

This time, instead of fixing himself, he crumbled onto the ground instead, turning into a pile of black dust.

What the… Seriously, what the heck is this thing? Is this some really crazy Gene Mod or something? How else is this guy able to turn into that?

Then, as if a switch had been flipped, all the androids suddenly lowered themselves like they were getting ready to jump.

Fuck this shit, I'm going in!!!

I activated my Wave Blades and jumped into the crowd of androids first instead, slashing my arms out and cutting down half a dozen of them in a single swing before they could even try to jump at me.

Surprisingly, that seemed to have messed with the androids as they suddenly stood back up again, as though they weren't sure on how to deal with the sudden change in situation.

Of course I wasn't going to let that chance go to waste as I slashed out my arms in an arc, cutting down even more of the androids.

The others also resumed firing at them, tearing the hesitating androids to shreds.

The androids near me recovered and started jumping at me in an attempt to drag me down but I was ready for them.

One lunged for my left arm so I slashed my arm down to cut it in half before turning around to slash my right arm diagonally upwards, slicing another android at the waist and letting both halves fly in different directions.

An android leapt at me from the front so I reached out and grabbed him by his head before spinning around to use him as an improvised weapon and smashing several of the other androids flying.

His bottom half ended up getting ripped off from the impact so I threw the remains of the android out into the crowd, smashing several more of them flying like bowling pins.

Two of them tried to go for my legs so I kicked them away before grabbing another android by her foot to lift her up and smash her into the ground, the impact breaking her limbs off before I threw her at another group to knock them down.

I swung my left arm again, the Wave Blade slicing through the heads of the androids unfortunate enough to be beside me.

I then clenched my right fist and punched forward, my Power Armour's fist colliding with another android that was in mid jump towards me.

Right then, I felt a weight on my back and I instinctively knew one had managed to climb on to my back.

Without hesitation, I reached behind, the Power Armour arms having been designed to be able to reach anywhere on its back to grab the offending android and pull him off of me.

This one I simply crushed his head in my hands before turning again, slashing my left Wave Blade through another crowd and cutting them down.

My shield then flared as some of the androids also started shooting at me so I returned the favour by firing my mortar in their direction.

The explosive shell flew towards them and I turned away to deal with another android, the explosion happening behind me which I was sure would blow those androids into pieces without me looking at them.

Another android managed to climb over his brethren to leap at my chest, the robot latching onto the front of my Power Armour and started to claw at the armoured plating.

Hey!! Ries worked hard on making this!! Don't you dare scratch it!!

I grabbed him and pulled the android off my chest before shoving one of my arm mounted shotguns under the android's chin and blew his head off.

I turned back to face the crowd of androids and despite all the ones I've already crushed, it still looked like I was looking out at the sea crashing into me.

As I prepared myself to lunge into the androids again, another explosion rang through the room, this time coming from the direction of the doors instead.

Everyone stopped to turn to look at the door where a smoke had formed from the explosion.

There was a moment of silence before a roar came from behind the smoke and people charged in, all of them shooting at any android they saw.

I was confused on who they were until I saw the armour they were wearing.

Ah, they are members of the Pirate Lord's crew.

Looks like back up came after all!
