What Do You Mean I'm The Captain Of A Yandere Mercenary Company?

Chapter 589: Even The Door Can't Stop Them

It took me a while but I finally managed to finish hacking all the consoles while Matsumoto cut down any androids that came close to me.

I pressed the command to open the door and the massive door began to slide open.

"It's open!" I shouted, prompting them to start retreating towards the slowly opening doors.

In fact… Isn't it opening a little too slowly? It's already been a minute and it hasn't even opened a gap wide enough for you to stick your finger in.

"We still need to hold on for a while longer!!" I shouted, joining the rest to start shooting at the android horde.

Looking at the corridor, I can see that despite their best efforts, the horde was getting closer and closer and yet there were no signs of the horde ending.

My two minigun spun endlessly as bullet after bullet were shot out from the barrels, eviscerating the androids I was aiming at.

Despite that, they were still slowly gaining ground as the ones behind climbed over the disabled androids to get to us.

"I'm… I'm running low!" One of the pirates shouted, slamming in another magazine into his rifle.

"Take mine! Make it count!" Another pirate shouted, throwing a mag to his comrade.

Right then, Matsumoto slashed his sword out, cutting down another invisible android before the android could jump on the pirate catching the magazine.

Looks like they're still trying to ambush us… I'm just glad that none of these androids were using guns at the very least…

I peeked behind us, the door still slowly opening up but it was at least wide enough for a person to squeeze through now.

"Everyone, back up to the door!!" I shouted, taking command.

No one questioned me as we slowly retreated towards the door, moving step by step until our backs were against the door.

While a normal sized human could fit through the gap right now, there was no way I could fit through, much less the Pirate Lord with our Power Armour.

"Start moving inside!" The Pirate Lord ordered.

I immediately countered, "No! Stand your ground! If they start moving in, we're going to have less fire power out here keeping them at bay! Wait until the door is wide enough that this guy can go through as well before we move!"

The pirates who were about to turn around to move through the door paused before immediately turning back to resume shooting once again.

Slowly, ever so slowly, the door continued to slide open as we faced the onslaught of the androids that were getting closer and closer to us.

They had already formed a semicircle and we were stuck in the centre of it.

I think at this point, we've killed at least several hundreds of these androids already and the floor was basically covered with the disabled bodies of their brethren.

They were almost on top of us and I could even see the features on their faces as I blasted their faces off.

"It's big enough now!! Go, go, go!!" The Pirate Lord suddenly yelled out.

I turned and frowned a little, seeing the door was barely even big enough to fit him.

Still, the pirates did not question it and started running through the open doorway.

I turned to look at the Pirate Lord, not stopping my guns that were still shooting into the crowd of androids in front of us.

He only gave me a shake of his head, stopping me from saying anything.

I don't think he intends to sacrifice himself here but I'm also not sure what kind of plan he has either.

I turned to the girls, "Go. I'll cover you all."

They gave me a nod before also retreating through the gap.

I immediately turned and followed them through and the Pirate Lord was the last one on the other side of the door.

He turned and tried to shuffle through the door sideways but the cannons on his back was obviously in the way and prevented him from getting through.

There was a grunt before he shrugged his shoulders, causing the cannons to detach themselves to fall onto the ground with a loud thud.

He immediately jumped through the gap and the rest of us resumed firing while I activated the door controls to close it again.

The door stopped and it started sliding back closed, only it was moving way slower than I would have liked.

Taking a moment to look around, I realised we were standing in a huge circular room that already had the lights on and there were cylindrical tubes that were filled with bluish liquid scattered around the corners of the room.

In the very centre however, there was just an open circular space with a single pedestal that looked like it was covered in an energy shield in the shape of a dome.

"What's this now?" I couldn't help but ask. "Wasn't this supposed to be the treasure room or something?"

I was thinking this might be some kind of water storage or water pump room because of the cylinders, which meant this whole entire trip would have been a bust.

Leaving that aside for now, we still have other problems as the androids were now at the door and trying to pour through the gap even as the door closed.

We just need to keep them away until the door--

CRACK.

Did the door… Just stop?

Fuck! Did it get stuck?!!

The androids poured through the gap, all of them clawing their way through as we continued our massacre of the machines.

The good thing was that they were forced to come through the gap in the door so they wouldn't be able to swarm us but this still doesn't change the fact that there was a near endless amount of them trying to get to us right now.

If we can just maybe plug up the hole with dead androids… Maybe that might--

I didn't even get to finish my thoughts when the door started moving again, only that it was sliding in the opposite direction of where we wanted it to.

Looking past the androids that were still crawling through the gap in the door, I realised that the reason why the doors even stopped was because the androids had grabbed on to them and were currently pulling them back open.

These fuckers…

Fuck this!

I aimed my shoulder mounted mortar at the gap between the door and fired, the explosive shell flying through the air and landing in the midst of the androids.

The explosion blasted several of them flying all around, some of them even being flung towards us from the shockwave.

Thankfully, the others quickly shot them down before they could use that opportunity to attack us.

The Pirate Lord seemed to have also decided it was no longer worth it to hold back and also switched to firing the cannons on his arms as well, blowing the androids away from the door.

Slowly, the doors started sliding back closed again as the androids that were holding on to the door were blown apart.

Just as hope began rising up in my chest again, something flew through the gap between the door and landed right in front of us.

I only had a moment to realise that it was a ball shaped object before it suddenly exploded, blowing several of the pirates that had been unfortunate enough to be standing near it away.

And as if that was the cue, gun shots started ringing out from the android's side of the room, my shield flaring up as the bullets ricochet off of it.

Another pirate who had been near the explosion tried to stand up, only for the rain of bullets to shatter his shield before he was riddled with bullets, his corpse falling back onto the ground with a thud.

Shit, shit, shit… Now the androids decided to bring out the guns?!

The smoke cloud from the explosive cleared and I realised that it was only a handful of androids that had weapons that were shooting at us.

But there was a bigger issue than that.

The floor tile at the front of the door had seemingly been shoved aside to reveal a passage that went under the door and androids were crawling their way out of the hole to continue running at us.

Seriously?! There's secret passages into this room?!

The rest of us resumed firing again, slowly backing up towards the pedestal at the centre of the room.

More explosions rocked the room and even more floor tiles exploded out of the ground, allowing even more androids to come crawling out until they were basically coming at us from every single direction.

We were totally and utterly surrounded…

We formed a ring around the pedestal and just as I was going to launch another mortar round into the crowd of androids, all of them suddenly stopped moving.

Looking closer, they had stopped at a specific distance from us, forming a ring to surround us who were stuck around the pedestal in the centre of the room.

Err… Now what?
