Warhammer: Saiyan Adopted by the Wolf King

Chapter 73: Chapter 73: The Golden Halo Above the Head, Divine and Radiant!

Axis simply could not accept the idea that his soul was so weak and unremarkable.

Why was it that the souls of those guys from the Dragon Ball world were all so monstrously powerful?

Their souls matched their physical bodies perfectly, yet when it came to him, his soul became pathetically weak?

He was a Super Saiyan, even if he had become one later in life!

Even though he had spent twenty-four years in the cultivation pod, during that entire period, his body had been instinctively circulating ki.

Though his soul might not be as powerful as those of Son Goku or Vegeta, at the very least, he should be able to maintain his integrity. that much shouldn't have been a problem.

"Do I need to empty my mind or do anything special?" Axis asked.

"No need! Your body is right here. I can use your physical form to locate your soul's projection, then grant you the vision of a psyker, allowing you to see your own soul's projection," Kasha replied.

Axis nodded and quietly waited for Kasha to begin.

Despite being within the Gellar Field in the Warp, Kasha's powerful psychic abilities still enabled her to observe his projection in the Immaterium at close range.

Kasha's eyes glowed gold, her whole body bathed in light. Raising her psychic staff, she cast a psychic spell, sending golden radiance surging into Axis's body.

Under Kasha's powerful psychic guidance, Axis's own eyes gradually turned gold, and suddenly, his vision shifted into something entirely different.

This was the vision of a psyker.

Axis could now perceive countless worlds in the violet-red Warp, each composed of energy and dreams.

None of this was "real" in the physical sense; rather, it was all a dreamlike form of existence.

This was the scenery of the Empyrean, the true visage of the Warp.

"Look closely, Axis. In the Warp, ordinary people's souls also have projections, but they are extremely weak.

"They're so feeble that even daemons can't see them.

"While similar to the soulless, they're fundamentally different, more like tiny dots, so faint they're almost negligible," Kasha explained.

Axis nodded, focusing his attention and following Kasha's instructions to look outward.

Sure enough, he saw faint points of light, each representing an ordinary person, the common masses.

"I don't see my own soul's light. How do I find it?" Axis asked.

"I'm already reflecting psychic power at close range right next to you.

"But if you still can't see your own soul, do you realize what that means? Your soul is so weak, it's not even visible," Kasha said helplessly.

Even the weakest psyker presence in the Warp.

Only pure ordinary people had soul projections in the Warp so faint as to be nearly undetectable.

The little points of light Axis had just seen were not ordinary people, but psykers.

Throughout the vast galaxy, countless human worlds existed, and even though psykers were rare, the sheer scale meant their numbers were still huge.

"Is that so? But I feel like my soul isn't projected in the Warp, it's actually inside my body," Axis said.

"??? Your soul is inside your body? Are you joking, Axis? Every living being, once born in the material universe,

"Will have its soul project into the Warp. Our souls all reside in the Warp, not the real universe; the real universe simply can't contain souls.

"Do you know how daemons devour the souls of living beings in the material universe?

"First, they enter the real universe with bodies made of Warp energy, then they kill humans.

"Using the link between the physical body and the soul in the Warp, they can precisely locate the soul's projection in the Warp and then devour it.

"Of course, human fear, joy, anger, pain, and other negative emotions also become food for daemons," Kasha explained.

She had never heard of anyone whose soul actually resided inside their body.

If your soul's projection in the Warp was weak, then your soul was weak.

Axis maintained his psychic vision and walked over to a mirror, looking at his own reflection.

That was another Axis, exactly the same as his original, there seemed to be no difference.

"A mirror won't show your soul's projection, Axis," Kasha said, curling her lip.

Actually, such plain and unremarkable souls were the safest in the Warp, because daemons simply couldn't sense you.

But if your soul was as bright as a lantern, you'd become a colossal beacon.

If you happened to fall asleep or enter meditation, your soul could easily be targeted by powerful daemons.

Axis shook his head, signaling Kasha to be quiet.

If psychic power could let him see soul light, what would happen if he added the power of ki?

Axis sat cross-legged, drew forth his ki from within, and directed it to his eyes.

A blue radiance gathered in his eyes and fused with the golden psychic power. Once again, his vision changed dramatically.

Through ki perception, Axis could now see countless tiny points of light in the Warp, each representing a life.

Under ordinary psychic vision, Axis had not been able to see these at all.

Each of these was a soul, some as weak as a kitten, a puppy, or a fish, others as strong as a human, or even stronger, as wild beasts.

Under Axis's ki sense, all these souls were now revealed.

All of this, however, was invisible to Kasha, who was guiding the process.

If Warp daemons could see this spectacle, it would be an all-you-can-eat buffet for them!

But as long as a being remained alive, their soul was merely a projection, daemons could see it, but could do nothing to it.

Only by killing the living being could the daemon claim its soul.

"What's wrong, Axis? Do you want me to end the spell?" Kasha asked.

"No, wait a bit! Just keep things as they are," Axis said, waving his hand.

By now, Axis was certain.

He truly possessed a soul, and it was incredibly powerful!

All those little points of light that he sensed felt pathetically weak in comparison, even the soul projections of psykers seemed feeble to him.

Of couse he was vastly superior to the lot of them! Who ever doubted that?!

Standing nearby, Kasha sighed helplessly and raised her staff, continuing to pour golden psychic energy into the spell.

How long was this guy going to keep looking?

Axis was now sure his soul and his body were completely fused. Unless he died, his soul would never leave his body.

He went to stand before the mirror again, gazing at his reflection with both psychic power and ki.

It was still the same Axis, but something had changed.

Above the head of his reflection in the mirror, there appeared a golden halo.

This was the symbol of a soul in the Dragon Ball world, a golden halo, representing someone who had died, also called an "angel's ring."

Seeing this, Axis smiled faintly.

In pure psychic vision, he couldn't see his soul at all, but with the addition of ki, and with Kasha's psychic power assisting, he could finally see his true soul reflected in the mirror.

Kasha, now curious, came over to stand in front of Axis and looked into the mirror herself.

But to her, nothing seemed different about Axis's reflection.

"What did you see, Axis?" Kasha asked.

"I finally saw the truth I've always sought!" Axis said, delighted.

"???" Kasha was at a loss for words.

'Hadn't I already told him? You can't see your soul's projection in a mirror. What's this guy playing at?'

She shook her head, glancing at Axis, and suddenly noticed that, besides her own golden psychic light, his eyes also glimmered with a faint blue aura, tinged with green.

Looking into Axis's pupils, Kasha glimpsed a mirrored world.

The Axis reflected inside his pupil had a golden ring in his head.

"Did you see something? I can see, through your eyes, a golden halo above your head," Kasha said.

"That's right. That's the mark of my soul, the manifestation of my soul, nourished and strengthened by ki," Axis replied, he couldn't hide the smug grin.

"Don't joke around. Souls can't take physical form, no matter who you are. Even my father, in the Warp, doesn't look like that!" Kasha said.

She still remembered the first time she followed her father into the Warp.

What she saw was a cold, dark sun, radiating unimaginable terror.

Dark, pale, icy—yet dazzlingly bright!

"That's my soul, Kasha. Let me show you more clearly." Axis placed his hand on her shoulder, channeling his ki into her body and guiding it toward her eyes.

Kasha's eyes now shimmered with pale blue light, laced with green phosphorescence, mixing strangely with the golden psychic energy in her gaze.

With Axis's ki empowering her, Kasha's vision changed, and finally, she saw what Axis had seen:

Axix with a golden halo above his head.

Axis radiated a powerful aura, so strong it was almost impossible to look at him directly.

And that golden halo above his head exuded an indescribable, sacred energy.

It was nothing like the power of the Warp, not the chaos, not the evil. It was something utterly beyond description, divine, and transcendent.

Axis's soul was within his body, immense and holy, shining as radiantly as her father's soul.

Most striking was that golden halo.

It clearly did not originate from the Warp.

Its power surpassed the Warp, or perhaps came from an entirely different source.

"Wtf?I see it! That golden halo above your head, Axis, it's so, so bright!," Kasha stammered.

Malcador was wrong. Her father, the Emperor, was wrong too!

Axis's soul was anything but ordinary.

It was unimaginably powerful, and utterly unique!

"I told you, my soul couldn't possibly be weak. Back when I was purging the Second Legion, I once used my mind to lock onto half a planet's worth of Astartes.

"If I only had physical strength and not a strong soul, there's no way I could have done something like that," Axis explained.

"That's realy something else. So strange! By all rights, with a soul that strong, you should be able to wield Warp energy, to be a truly mighty psyker," Kasha said.

"Maybe it's because my soul is bound so tightly to my body that, unless I die, it will never project outward.

"And as for seeing it in the mirror, well, where I come from, it's said that a mirror can reflect another world," Axis said.

Now his theory had been confirmed.

If he wanted to use psychic powers, maybe Magnus could help him work it out.

If Magnus couldn't, Axis would turn to the Emperor for help.

"Axis, you're going to Prospero to see Magnus, aren't you?

"You want him to help you unlock your psychic power?" Kasha suddenly realized, looking at Axis.

"Mm! With a soul this strong, it would be a waste not to study the power of the Warp," Axis said.

A soul nourished by ki for nearly thirty years, how could that be anything ordinary?

"I see. I understand now. I'll help you, and I'll keep your secret.

"I'll take it as my honor to witness such a unique and sacred soul," Kasha said.

"You can say you can say Big and Powerful. Don't brush it off by saying unique," Axis replied, grinning, wriggling his eyebrows at Kasha.

"Oh, trust me darling! I know how big and powerful it is."

Axis blushed.
