Chapter 6: The Motivation Behind

"Who would have thought that our fighting king would have an owner, hahaha," Harry laughed wantonly in the lobby of the Osborn building. The people around him didn't dare say anything, after all, this was his territory.

Since childhood, Peter and Harry have been under Norton's protection, and thanks to Norton, Peter is not as weak as before. Instead, he has become more talkative in front of his friends. However, when Norton heard Harry describe him as a "famous flower," his face couldn't help but turn dark.

"Harry, that's enough. If you let Uncle Norman know that your first love has not been handed over, what do you think he will say?" Norton shot back mercilessly. Seeing Harry's face change, he immediately became serious. "Norton, please, don't tell my dad about this."

"It depends on your performance," Norton replied. As they reached the building's entrance, Norton said, "Okay, Harry, I'll leave you here. Remember to say hello to Uncle Norman for me." After saying this, Norton took Gwen's hand and left the Osborn Building. After Norton and Gwen disappeared from sight, Harry put away his smile, turned around, walked to the elevator, and went upstairs.

Harry reached one of the floors, paused at a door, took a deep breath, and went in. "Dad."

"Harry, have you finished greeting your friends?" Norman asked. Faced with Harry, Norman didn't look up, continuing to focus on his experiment with a stern face, seeming not to care much about his son.

"Yes, Dad. Norton asked me to say hello to you for him," Harry said, looking a little nervous in front of his father. Harry's nervousness had always been apparent to Norman, and his child's cowardice hadn't changed since he was in junior high and high school abroad.

"Hmph! If you could be as good as Norton and Peter, I wouldn't say anything. Let's not even discuss Peter. Norton has had no father and no mother since he was a child. Although he's received help from the Parker couple, he grew up on his own. Compare yourself to others!"

"Norton! Peter Parker! Gwen Stacy! Each of them is the best among young people. Why don't you think about why you are so far behind them?"

Ever since Norman's wife, Emily Lyman, died shortly after Harry's birth, Norman hadn't shown his only son any kindness. He belittled Harry contemptuously or attacked him angrily. Harry didn't speak, but bowed his head and blushed, not even trying to retort, which made Norman even angrier.

"I still have a meeting to attend! Hmph!" Norman snapped, throwing off his white coat and storming out of the laboratory. Harry was left standing there alone with a pile of gloomy experimental equipment.

"One day, I'll let you approve mine!" Harry roared in the lab, then sank back into his seat, saddened.

"Damn it!" Connors slammed his desk angrily. He had just received the news that due to his experiment's slow progress, both the school and Osborn Industry planned to withdraw funding and stop the experiment. Now, this grim situation unfolded in front of him.

"There's still a little time left!!" Connors said slowly, looking at his severed right arm and then at the formula Peter had written on the green blackboard behind him. "Peter, there is no time."

Determined, Connors picked up the white coat draped over a chair and headed to his laboratory, planning to conduct his experiments from early morning until late at night.

Meanwhile, in another laboratory, Dr. Otto was conducting prosthetic experiments. He used a chip on the back of the brain to control the prosthetic's movement. The prosthetic in front of him attempted to pick up a cup. Initially, the experiment went smoothly, and Otto began to smile. But suddenly, the prosthetic limb lost control, clenched unexpectedly, and the cup shattered, scattering pieces everywhere. Otto couldn't help but curse: "Damn it!!"

Just as Otto was starting to relax in preparation for the next experiment, there was a rough knock on the door.

"Boom!!"

"Otto!" Norman walked in without any trace of a smile.

Dr. Otto was startled and stood up quickly. Osborn Industry was the major sponsor of his experiment. He asked hurriedly, "Mr. Norman, what can I do?"

Norman's expression was icy, filled with disdain. He said, "Otto Gunther Octavius!! Your experiment has been unanimously voted down by the board of directors. It is officially stopped! In three days, you and your pitiful prosthetic need to get the hell out of here!"

Norman's words struck Otto's heart like a heavy blow. Otto grimaced and protested, "You can't do this!! I can succeed! As long as I have time, I can succeed!!"

"We've already given you enough time!!" Norman, usually calm, was filled with anger today and couldn't help but lose control of his emotions in front of them.

"You! You'll regret it!!" Otto suppressed his anger, gritting his teeth.

After venting, Norman regained his air of superiority and said slowly, "I don't think I will regret it, Dr. Otto."

"Never."
