Void Cultivation

The trip back to the scavenger camp was short. They did not even take a teleportation array from Antler city to Glory city. The speed of the magic ship was more than fast enough.

In half an hour, they were already above the scavenger camp. Some miles away, the Shadow sect convoy had been destroyed. Bodies were lying all around like display dolls.

Everyone jumped down from the magic ship but Tyler glided down softly before touching down. The Captain's expression was stern as he looked at the entrance of the scavenger camp.

When they got closer, the saw the guards looking at them from the distance with slight hesitation and fear. But when they saw who was approaching, all their fear turned to relief and smiles blossomed on their faces.

With a curt nod at the two guards, the Captain walked into the scavenger camp. Everyone else followed silently. Apart from Tyler who looked tidy and clean. Her emerald green dress made her look like a young lady from a wealthy family.

Grey's injuries were mostly healed thanks to the purple crystal, but his expression was still pale. Ange had a tired expression on her face, her face was similarly pale after refining so many pills and using their spirit power to break through.

Luo's clothes were torn in many places and blood dyed her clothes a tinge of red. But she didn't seem to care and continued to walk nonchalantly.

Even the Captain who was once their idol for neatness was battered and looked miserable. But considering the amazing feats that he had continuously pulled off, these injuries looked little.

Tyler suggested for her to heal him, but the Captain politely rejected with a charming smile that made Tyler's cheeks flush pink.

'Seriously what is up with these two?'

Grey said inwardly but didn't dare probe. He guessed this had to do with the Captain long before he became the leader of the scavenger camp.

Within minutes, the burly Zuro, Trogan and Freies had come out to meet them. They also had similar appearances and their breathing was labored.

Zuro looked at them in surprised and asked.

"You guys are back so soon! What happened? Did you succeed?" Zuro bombarded them with questions as soon as they were close enough.

Ange opened her mouth, but soon closed it. She was too tired to talk. Instead, the Captain let out a short nod and pulled out a black dragon patterned scroll.

"This is..." Trogan asked.

"The secret art of the Shadow sect!" The Captain said nonchalantly but with a proud look on his tired face.

"Huh"

"You really did it! You really got the scroll! But how, don't they have an expert in the Foundation establishment realm?" Trogan was stupefied that he didn't bother to lower to his voice.

"Shh, let's get inside first. You guys explain what happened here and we will explain tell you what happened to the Shadow sect." Luo was the one who spoke up with a hushed voice.

The three men nodded repeatedly and in minutes, they were all huddled together in Luo's shop. Zuro, Trogan and Friese all had their eyes peeled and their ears perked up to listen to their story. But first they started to explain what happened when the Captain and the others left.

"Only a few hours after you guys left, the Shadow sect began their march towards the camp. We could tell they were angry after our assassination last night. We counted four cultivators in the eight level of Qi accumulation, but they were actually more than that. Reaching eight at least! We don't know which method they used to hide themselves, or whether they were actually in the convoy aa well, but the next day they really made their presence known." "Because they were approaching with speed faster than we expected, we did have enough time to fully iron out our plan. The battle was tough especially because it was three against over forty, and they were all the best of the best. But they had a weapon with then we didn't expect." Zuro said.

"These fuckers actually had a relocation talisman! The moment they felt that they could not handle us, they called for three sect elders. With three sect elders on their side, we each had to take one each while killing our targets. These guys sure gave us hell with their secret Shadow art! It was pretty powerful if you give them enough time to cast it." Friese said.

"Well, what is their secret art!? We didn't have the privilege of witnessing it since the beginning of the fight, so tell us?" Luo said with haste in her voice.

Friese looked at her and said while hesitating. "Am not even sure that thing can be called an art! It should be called an evil technique instead!"

"Why, what happened?" Ange said.

Zuro shook his head and spoke up. "In the middle of the fight, one of the Shadow sect elders suddenly pointed his finger at his forehead and blasted a hole in it. Yes, his own forehead! Then a shadow like creature crawled out, am not too sure about the shape, but it was ever changing. It also had multiple faces as well which would change the next moment you blinked."

"Then suddenly all the corpses of the Shadow sect members we killed suddenly began to cough out black blood which turned into a shadowy substance and drifted into the single Shadow creature. With the multitude of shadows drifting towards a single one, it's form soon became complete and when it did..."

"Somehow it was even stronger than the three sect elders combined and we three had to team up before we could beat it! Trogan even broke through to the next level." He said and looked at Trogan who let out a small smile.

Now that Grey noticed it, Trogan's aura was even stronger than before. But the aura of death completely covered his new cultivation base. The Captain nodded with approval towards Trogan.

"After that there was nothing much, you guys know the rest of the story." Trogan said with a wry smile. They were very proud of themselves. After all, who could boast that they could defeat a cultivator from a sect at the perfected level of Qi accumulation.

Every single person in this room right now could be called a genius. They were literally breaking the rules of cultivation by fighting against those much higher than them.
