Transmigrated into Another Apocalyptic World (BL)

Chapter 84

"Fortunately, you didn't stay in the army," Luciel said to Treyton.

"Yeah, that's also why I don't want to stay in the army. I'll be forced to follow the orders from above even if I don't want to," Treyton said.

Treyton was certainly upright and kinder than him, but he certainly isn't the type of person who would just go around saving others.

He's also a person who doesn't like people controlling his actions, especially on big matters, so he is really unsuited to being in the army.

If he were the highest commander, then it's different because he would be the one commanding the actions of others; unfortunately, he couldn't be, so he went to do business instead.

"So, are you going to the army after we go north?" Luciel asked.

"Of course not; I don't have any plans to return to the army," Treyton denied it immediately.

"Well, that's good. If you return to the army, you might just be like them," Luceil said while looking at the soldiers who were busy distributing food and guarding the civilians who were talking to them badly.

"Even if I return to the army, I won't be like them," Treyton said with distaste.

"I'll make sure they won't be able to treat me that way," Treyton added with confidence.

"Oh," Luciel just said with a nod.

He already knew that Treyton had indeed returned to the army near the novel he read, but he was already a person feared by people, so of course no one dared to talk to him badly.

"They're being treated that way because they were still upholding their views from before. Now that the world has changed, they should also have some changes in how they are handling things," Treyton said.

"Yeah, if they don't, then they would just suffer unnecessary losses," Luciel said.

If they don't change how they were handling things as soon as possible, then they would just have a lot of casualties because of the people they were rescuing.

They didn't say anything anymore and just focused on finishing their meals.

"We are all going to sleep in the cars?" Ava asked in a very dissatisfied voice.

"Yes, we have no choice because there isn't enough space for all of us to build a tent to sleep in," Nathan explained.

"No, how could I even sleep properly with other people beside me? The space in the car isn't even enough for me, so you want me to sleep while sitting?"

"Yeah, that's probably what's going to happen," Nathan said.

Don't worry, Miss; we will stand guard tonight so you can sleep alone in the car," Victor said.

Luciel was also dissatisfied with sleeping with others in the car just like Ava, so he was also staring at their car with a frown.

"Bear with it for now; it's only for today," Treyton said after seeing his frown.

The clearing they were in doesn't have any space left to put up enough tents for everyone. So, Treyton decided to just have everyone sleep in the car for the time being so that they don't need to mix with the other people who were rescued by the army.

He hadn't been able to stretch properly during the day because they were traveling, so he was waiting for the night to be able to stretch properly. But it seemed that he couldn't even lie straight on his bed today.

"We really need to have an RV," Luceil said again. With an RV, he could sleep properly.

"Yeah, let's look for some," Treyton said in agreement.

Luciel wanted to say something else, but Zam and Wes just returned after talking with some of the soldiers.

"So, what did they say?" Treyton asked.

"The base was still managed by General Brown, but a lot of soldiers turned into zombies, so they hadn't been able to go out to rescue civilians.

They spent 2 weeks organizing their personnel and cleaning up all the zombie soldiers in the base.

It seemed that they had debated a lot if they had to really kill those that turned into zombies or not. That's why it took them a week before they finally really cleaned up all the zombies inside the base.

When the base was finally organized, they finally opened their doors for the civilians.

When they were finally prepared to go out to rescue others, the sudden heavy rain came, so they were only able to send rescue operations now," Wes explained.

"This is their first operation?" Treyton asked.

"The base divided the soldiers into three groups and went in three different directions, and this is their first rescue operation."

This was their first rescue operation; no wonder they were still very generous and responsible. They weren't even talking back to the civilians who were treating them like trash.

If they experienced more rescue missions or if they experienced a dangerous rescue mission right away, their attitude would certainly change. Not a lot of people could maintain the same attitude after seeing a lot of their comrades die for ungrateful people.

"What did they say about our request?" Treyton asked again.

"When we said who you are, they immediately said that they would relay it to their general as soon as we arrive at their base."

"That's great; I hope we can get more information from them," Treyton said.

"They're only starting their rescue operations now. So, we might not even get any worthy information from them," Luciel said.

"Don't worry, even if they don't have any information, it's still good to visit their base as it's on our way north."

After knowing Treyton's identity, the soldiers became more friendly to them. They were already quite friendly with them because they were one of the few people who didn't say any comments against them, but they become even friendlier after knowing Treyton's identity.

The next day, they started driving very early, so they were able to arrive at the military base before lunch.

When they arrived at the base, the entry was quite strict. They could only get inside after waiting for 24 hours. If they want to get inside earlier, they will also have to go under a complete body check and wait for 6 hours before they can go inside.

Of course, Treyton refused the body check, so they had to wait for 24 hours outside again.

Well, at least the outside of the base was wide enough for them to properly set up tents. So, they don't need to squeeze inside the car when they need to sleep later.

Luciel also went out of their car to stretch his legs for a bit while looking around their surroundings.

There were also a lot of people outside the base waiting for their turn to line up or waiting for their names to be called to enter the base.

However, the outside of the base was very wide, so it didn't seem crowded at all, even though there were already a lot of cars and people outside.

Most of the people they were traveling with agreed to a complete body check; they only had to wait for 6 hours. So, the others went to line up for the body check while they just stayed in the designated parking lot.

While stretching, Luciel also observed their surroundings for a bit. Unlike the survivor's settlement they stayed at, the base was really different compared to it, which was already visible on the outside.

The base had a lot of soldiers stationed as guards in the wall, and they were all responsible for shooting people who had become zombies as well as stealing and other crimes if they were caught.

They were also obviously more systematic and efficient because of the speed of their travel.

Having the military manage such a base was really better than letting a ragtag group control it.

However, even though a lot of soldiers were watching, there are still people who don't care about such a thing.

"Hey, beauty! Why don't you accompany me for a while? I'll give you generous awards!" A middle-aged, fat-bellied man shouted at him while grinning lustfully.

Luciel didn't care about it and just continued stretching. He didn't care about it, but Treyton immediately did something.

Treyton threw 2 metal spikes at the person who just spoke badly at Luciel. The first one grazed the other person's face near his eyes, and the second one grazed the person's throat.

"Aaaahh!" the middle-aged, fat-bellied man screamed.

"Don't covet what can't possibly be yours. He is mine," Treyton said while going out of the car and still coldly staring at the man who said such a thing.

"I-I will report you!" the man said while looking at the soldiers who were coming because they noticed the commotion.

"What happened here?" one of the soldiers asked.

"Look, officer, he injured my face," the man immediately said while pointing at the wounds on his face.

"It's nothing; I was just practicing my abilities and accidentally hit him," Treyton answered.
