Chapter 309: Luciel in action 8

While Luciel was covering Treyton's villa area, he had already noticed that the sky had darkened further. And sure enough, just after he finished covering Treyton's villa, birds began swooping down.

So, Luciel didn't even have time to check his work, as he had to start fighting against the birds right away.

There were more large birds attacking the base, so Luciel immediately began moving toward the nearby farm.

The protection over their villa was already sufficient. The vines he had set up wouldn't be easily breached by the birds.

They would probably only be destroyed if the birds were extremely persistent and continued to attack without stopping.

But there were other areas in the base, so the birds surely wouldn't just stay in the villa area and keep attacking it.

Besides, Wes and Mia were also there. In case of an emergency, both of them were strong enough to handle it.

So, Luciel didn't plan to stay as he had already decided where to go first.

The farm where Mr. Acacia was staying was just nearby, so Luciel planned to cover it with vines as well.

He hadn't bothered to go to that area earlier because he had seen that the farm was protected by some soldiers.

Not many birds had gone there, so with the soldiers around, Luciel was sure they could survive and protect Mr. Acacia.

Mr. Acacia might not be attractive as food, but if some birds decided to stop by the farm to rest, it could still be a disaster—especially if those birds happened to be the large ones, since they would likely destroy Mr. Acacia just by landing there.

There hadn't been any problem earlier, but this time—with the larger number of birds—it would definitely be an issue to properly protect Mr. Acacia. Luciel was sure that the soldiers stationed there were already exhausted from fighting continuously a while ago.

So, Luciel continued using the same method as before and made his way toward Mr. Acacia while fighting the birds that tried to block him.

However, because the number of birds seemed to have doubled, Luciel had to fight off more enemies than before. Even though he was doing his best to deal with them quickly, his travel time still took longer than it had previously.

When he arrived where Mr. Acacia was, Luciel saw that the soldiers in charge of protecting him were barely holding on. The number of birds attacking had clearly increased, making their job much harder.

Luciel didn't waste time. He immediately killed the three large birds nearby, and then, without bothering to eliminate the rest, he began controlling his vines. He split them into five, thickened them to at least a foot wide, and directed them to cover the area where Mr. Acacia was located.

This time, he only created two layers of vines since he knew the birds weren't particularly interested in Mr. Acacia. He also left an opening below wide enough for the soldiers to enter and exit if needed.

After doing all that, he left immediately without even saying hello to Mr. Acacia.

He was already planning to head to the nearby hospital, where the other members of their team were still staying.

While flying toward the hospital and fighting off the birds midair, he pulled out three more vines from his space and coiled them around his arms in preparation.

As he neared the hospital, he could see that Jacob and the others were still fighting off a growing number of birds trying to break in.

There were even more broken windows than before. He had already seen that Treyton had closed off and reinforced some of the windows with metal covers, but not all of them had been protected.

Treyton had probably run out of metal to use and couldn't cover every window. If he used up all of his metal reserves, it would weaken his ability to fight later on.

Nathan's family and the other team members were also at the hospital.

Luciel knew that they wouldn't leave the hospital just because of how dangerous things had become, so he had already decided it was better to provide additional protection to the hospital rather than waste time trying to convince the others to leave and go somewhere else.

So, Luciel landed on top of the hospital, and while fighting the birds that swarmed above, he also began readying the vines. He divided them into thirty strands and did the same thing he had done at Treyton's villa and for Mr. Acacia.

He controlled the thickened vines and carefully distributed them to cover the entire hospital.

When the other members of the team saw him and noticed the vines starting to envelop the hospital, they all retreated back inside to allow Luciel to finish.

Luciel layered the vines into four full layers before finally stopping. Since many people were still inside the hospital, the birds would surely continue trying to attack it.

But at least there were still some soldiers there aside from the team members that were also protecting the hospital. With the added protection from the vines, they would surely be able to defend it, even if more birds kept coming.

The hospital was large, so Luciel ended up using all the energy stored in one of the vines he had just brought out from his space.

But Luciel didn't dwell on it. He was already on his way to the military center, as he had also planned to give that area additional protection by covering it with vines.

On his way to the military center, he spent even more time than before because the number of birds attacking him had significantly increased.

He also took longer traveling because he had gone to the hospital first. The military center was actually closer to where Mr. Acacia was, but Luciel had prioritized the hospital earlier since it had fewer people available to protect it compared to the military center, where many soldiers were already stationed.
