Transmigrated into Another Apocalyptic World (BL)

Chapter 308: Luciel in action 7

Such a situation was very common in chaotic times, just like in the world he once lived in. That's why he didn't want to live in such a place again.

Unfortunately, he was really unlucky. He had already spent so long in a world constantly attacked by monsters, and now he had to live in another world attacked by zombies and mutant animals.

Thinking about it all over again, Luciel couldn't help but curse once more.

"F*ck!"

There was already a lot of damage in the base because of the appearance of the first flock of birds, but now that a second batch was coming, the situation became even more dire.

Many people were barely holding on just to fend off the first wave of birds.

The soldiers on the walls and in other areas were clearly doing their best, killing as many birds as they could with guns and other weapons, but it wasn't too effective against the larger birds.

They had to use a lot of bullets or strike multiple times to bring them down.

Just like the other citizens, many soldiers were already injured, and some had even been killed by the birds' attacks.

It was the same for people fighting in other parts of the base—like those ability users who had just finished their training with the military.

Most of them were able to last longer because of the training they had received. Luciel had seen them fighting while circling the base earlier.

Even though they weren't as skilled as the soldiers, at least their movements weren't as awkward anymore, and they knew some proper fighting techniques.

Luciel saw that, at the very least, they managed to stall the birds or even kill some of them with the help of others.

There were also people without abilities who were still good at fighting. Luciel had seen some of them fending off birds on their own.

Aside from the people who were fighting the birds, the ordinary citizens were also doing their best to hide properly or run as fast as they could to the different areas in the base that could provide some protection.

The people in the base were already struggling to deal with the first flock of birds, and most of them were clearly exhausted.

They were probably just holding on because they could see that the sky was finally clearing. Maybe they thought they could finally relax after taking care of the remaining birds in the sky, but now that a second flock was coming, their hopes would be dashed once again.

The second flock of birds heading toward the base was clearly larger than the first. If it was just a matter of numbers, it might still have been manageable. However, there were also far more large birds in this group, which made the situation even worse.

Other people had also likely noticed the incoming flock, because Luciel could already hear more cries and curses than before, but it didn't last long, as no one wanted to draw the birds' attention to their location.

Well, even Luciel, who had already grown used to situations like this, couldn't help but curse, so of course the others must be feeling it even more intensely.

When Luciel saw that the second wave of birds had already reached the base walls and would likely flood the entire base within a minute, he went to where Wes and the others were.

"I'll cover the entire villa with vines for added protection. I'll leave a few holes so you guys can still check the situation outside. I'll also leave one opening big enough in case you need to escape. You can block it yourselves with your powers later if needed," Luciel said to Wes.

Wes nodded seriously and didn't say anything else, clearly aware that the situation had become even more dire.

After that, Wes brought the others back into the villa to let Camille treat their injuries and give them a chance to rest, in case they needed to fight again later.

Luciel went to the rooftop of the villa, holding the vines in his hand. He began dividing them into ten separate strands and carefully thickened and extended each one.

Once the vines had grown to at least half a foot thick, he started spreading them downward, controlling their movement precisely so they could cover the connected villas Treyton and the others lived in, along with their surrounding gardens.

He covered the entire place in a dome-shaped structure made of vines. But he wasn't satisfied with just a single layer. Even though the vines were now thicker and stronger than before, he knew they could still be damaged by the large birds.

So, he carefully controlled the vines and created five layers, each half a foot thick, to ensure there would be no problem even if some of the large birds attacked later.

The surrounding garden had already been damaged due to the previous attacks and the battle with the large birds.

He didn't want the villa he was living in to be destroyed just like that because the villa was indeed a very comfortable place to live in.

He didn't want to move away later just because the villa got destroyed, so he was more than willing to give it extra layers of protection.

However, growing the vines to cover the connected villas had consumed more than half of the plant energy he had stored in the vines he was holding.

It took a lot of his stored energy to grow the vines longer and thicker and even to modify their hardness.

Earlier, when he was using the vines to fight, he had just been controlling the same ones repeatedly, so the energy consumption wasn't that high. But this time, covering Treyton's entire villa area with five thick layers of vines required a significant amount of stored energy.

Fortunately, he still had more vines stored in their space, so there was no problem in fighting continuously, even for days if needed.
