Top Actress Beware: Also Reborn Is Your CEO Husband!

Chapter 132: I won't give you such an opportunity

"Why tell me this?" Viscount Zhou was a bit curious. Mason Nightshade had a prideful roguishness about him, like an untamed wolf, rarely showing any peaceful demeanor towards anyone.

Mason looked at him and said, "Because you're important to her. If I want to take care of her for a lifetime, I must account for those she considers important. What happened today was my negligence, nearly causing her harm again."

Mason's hand hanging by his side clenched into a fist.

"Thank you for being by her side today. As for Aurelia..." Mason paused, raising his eyes to look into Viscount Zhou's, "I won't let go! Under any circumstances, I won't let go!"

Viscount Zhou was taken aback, the words of doubt stuck in his throat. He wanted to say that Mason's mother continually troubled Aurelia. He wanted to mention that Mason had a childhood friend, Eleanor Spencer, whom Aurelia actually cared about deeply. He also wanted to say that Aurelia, though she appeared strong, was truly a woman who was internally fragile and lacking in security. He wondered to what extent Mason could care for her.

But Viscount Zhou didn't ask any of these questions.

He might not be the most accurate judge of character, but in Mason's eyes, he saw a flicker of something. He couldn't quite define it, but he had to admit that this flicker he couldn't identify caused him some inner turmoil.

Viscount Zhou paused for a moment, exhaled, "If I find out she gets hurt by you again, if things end up like the mess today, I won't care if she's willing or not, I'll forcibly take her away from you!"

"I won't give you that chance," Mason said, his tone calm yet instilled with confidence.

Viscount Zhou glanced at him, then looked at the brightly lit villa before pulling out his phone and walking away, his flippant voice trailing behind, "Hey, where are you? Come pick me up! I'm at Mason Nightshade's."

Mason watched Viscount Zhou's figure fade into the distance, then stepped inside the house where a servant promptly greeted him. It was a new face, looking about fifty years old, with a gentle and kind appearance. The servant took Mason's coat and neatly folded it, saying nothing unnecessary, nor did her eyes wander.

"Where's Aurelia?" Mason asked, showing a calm demeanor towards this servant.

"The Young Madam went straight to the bedroom when she came in, didn't say a word," Mother Rong said, her tone slightly worried as she glanced at Mason but said nothing further.

"Alright," Mason nodded, rising to the second floor.

Entering the bedroom, he didn't see Aurelia's figure. The sound of running water came from the bathroom. A blood-stained coat was thrown on the bed, a high heel crooked by the bedside, with another by the bathroom door.

Mason bent down to pick up the two shoes and placed them in the shoe cabinet, then looked back at the coat belonging to another man. After a silent moment, he picked it up and walked out with a calm expression.

Just out the door, he ran into Mother Rong passing by. Seeing the coat in his hand, she presumed it was Mason's laundry and reached out to take it.

"Should I wash this coat and put it in your closet?" Mother Rong asked.

"No," Mason said, glancing at the coat again, his brow furrowing, "Throw it away." Pausing momentarily, he corrected, "Cut it to pieces then throw it away."

Though he had expressed gratitude for having someone accompany Aurelia today, he didn't want to see her keeping a coat from another man. He felt jealous; rather than a strong possessiveness, it would be more apt to say...
