Chapter 112: The Servant Who Betrayed Their Master
Jovana Shaw carried the lunchbox, and just as she entered the door, she heard Sophie Nye's panicked scream. Her eyes lit up, and she quickened her pace to walk inside, eager to see what was happening.
Kicked out? Could it be that little brat Aurelia is getting kicked out?
The butler looked at Sophie Nye with difficulty and then at Mrs. Li, "Madam, Mrs. Li is so badly injured... shouldn't we call a doctor first to check?"
"Check for what! Didn't you hear what I said? Kick her out, immediately! I don't want to see her!" Sophie's face turned pale as she shouted in a sharp voice.
Disappointment flashed through Jovana Shaw's eyes. What! I thought Aurelia was getting kicked out, turns out it's just a servant who made a mistake. She felt not the slightest pity for the servant's plight; she was used to such things, she was a part of this herself.
In her eyes, they pay high prices for these servants to serve them, so these servants have no human rights of their own.
"Let's still have the doctor take a look first." A gentle, kind voice spoke up, and Eleanor Spencer snapped back from her fear. Her face was still a bit pale as she smiled at the butler. She hadn't expected Aurelia to actually go that far.
"Aurelia, I really didn't expect you to be so cruel, to be able to destroy someone's face without batting an eye." She expressed disappointment as if unintentionally.
Mrs. Li's pupils suddenly shrank.
Destroy someone's face? Her face... she was thunderstruck instantly, her eyes went blank, and after a moment, they filled with deep hatred as she glared viciously at Aurelia, "Bitch, I will kill you—!"
Mrs. Li roared as she lunged at Aurelia.
Jovana Shaw secretly rejoiced, just waiting to watch a good show. Best if they could scar Aurelia's face, ah, no, just watching how exciting could it be! Once they started fighting, she would step in to break it up, in the chaos she would splash that pot of soup onto Aurelia's face, no way she wouldn't be disfigured.
Haha, Aurelia, you made me bring soup every day, never thought you'd fall by my hand, did you?
"Still haven't learned your lesson?" Aurelia did not dodge, her mesmerizing eyes slightly raised, calmly glancing at Mrs. Li, her soft curls falling on her shoulders making her look like a dangerous flower demon, "Last time, it was your leg, this time, it's your face. If these lessons aren't enough, next time, it will be a part of your body."
Her nonchalant tone was like an arrow of ice formed from a snowy mountain, chillingly piercing into one's bones.
Mrs. Li froze, her knees suddenly buckled, and she fell to the ground, her fingers trembling as she touched her still-aching legs. Her expression alternated between fear and emptiness, making her look dazed.
A devil, this person is a devil! My V@i-rtual. L$ib.r-a$ry E!m@pi*r&e# (M V L E M P Y R) a@p+pre^ci$a&te#s y&ou.r^ r*e$ade-rsh#ip at the sourc#e#.
She is terrifying!
Jovana Shaw looked at Mrs. Li, whose expression changed drastically, and then at the composed Aurelia, a chill crept up her spine to her neck. She suddenly recalled the time at the Shaw Family estate, when Aurelia threatened her mother with a knife. Compared to that time, this understated Aurelia was even more frightening.
Jovana trembled, what's going on? Why has this foolish sister become so menacing?
Eleanor Spencer hadn't yet noticed Aurelia's change, stepping out to defend Mrs. Li, "Mrs. Li has worked in this house for five or six years, how can you treat her like this!"
She looked at Mrs. Li with sympathy, encouraging her with her eyes to stand up and denounce Aurelia. This group of servants was easy to manipulate; treating them well just a little, and they would be immensely grateful, wholeheartedly devoted to you.
