The Villain’s Perspective

Today was Saturday, the day Levy would go to his secret basement. If everything was the same as usual, today would be the day for Lucifer to act.

From morning to afternoon, Lucifer tried not to be active much to save his energy. After finishing the assigned work, Lucifer immediately ran to his secret base, which was the cave he found 2 years ago and ate as much meat as possible. He needed to have a lot of energy for tonight.

After his stomach was full, Lucifer returned to the small wooden house and slept until 5 pm. That would help him stay awake longer tonight.

Tonight, everything had to be perfect. Even the smallest mistake was not allowed. With that in mind, Lucifer stood up and stretched, waiting until Levy started getting in the car to go to the secret basement.

After dinner, Lucifer was staying in his room, focusing all his senses on Levy's movements.

As soon as he left the room, Lucifer would immediately climb into his car using Shadow Movement.

As usual, Levy left his room at 8pm. After hearing Levy's room's door open, Lucifer instantly activated Shadow Movement and got into the trunk of his car.

It took Levy a while to get into the car. It seemed like he had passed by the dog kennel for a while because Lucifer could hear the barking of the two dogs inside the car. Although Levy bringing two dogs with him was not in Lucifer's intention, it still wouldn't affect his original plan.

As usual, after the car stopped, Levy got out of the car, followed by two strong and fearsome dogs. Then, he went down to the secret basement without paying much attention to the surroundings.

After a few minutes, Lucifer finally left the trunk. He didn't need to worry too much about the time because Levy usually took 2 to 3 hours to return. That was the result of his continuous following him here for 2 years.

'Today is the day of his demise.'

First, Lucifer got in front of the car and drove it to a far away place, about 2 to 3 kilometers away from here to make sure that the car wouldn't break down because of his plan.

Then, Lucifer returned to the basement and started pouring some kind of liquid around it. This morning, Lucifer had brought 6 buckets of that liquid to this basement so that he could use it now.

After using up 5 buckets, Lucifer decided to keep the remaining bucket for himself. He would still use the last bucket but not now.

It took him about 30 minutes to prepare all of this. The remaining time for Lucifer was 1.5 or 2.5 hours.

'There's still a lot of time, huh?'

Although Lucifer still had quite a bit of time, he still had to act quickly. Lucifer couldn't afford to be distracted for even a second.

Next, Lucifer hurriedly used Shadow Movement to return to the cabin. He only came back here after finishing his work there. The entire process took Lucifer more than 30 minutes.

Thus, all the preparations were complete. Lucifer checked again to see if there were any mistakes, fortunately there were no problems in the preparations.

'Everyone, please pay attention to the performance that I spent more than 2 years preparing! I'm sure everyone will enjoy it!'

An hour later, Lucifer could hear heavy footsteps from afar. That meant Levy had finished his work and was returning to the surface.

After reaching the surface, Levy looked around but couldn't find his car anywhere. The only thing he saw was Lucifer sitting with his back to him.

"Hey, what are you doing here, Esper? It's already pretty late." Levy couldn't hide the worry in his voice.

Lucifer slowly turned his head to look straight into Levy's eyes. Now, the two of them were about 10 meters apart.

"You think I don't know what you've done? Well, whatever. You can take in mind that I'm here to punish you for the people you killed."

"What do you mean? What did I do? I didn't do anything. Is this a joke?"

"Don't lie to me, if you really didn't do anything, why are you having an anxious expression on your face? Why don't you take off that persona and show me your true self? You're going to kill me anyway for discovering the basement, right?" Lucifer said in a disdainful tone.

Then, the worried expression on Levy's face disappeared, replaced by an angry and a bit annoyed expression.

"How long have you known about this place?"

"Two years. Ever since I came here. Surprised?"

"And you're still here even though you know? What? Are you trying to play the hero?"

"No, I'm not a hero anymore, at least not today. A hero doesn't kill people, a hero only catches criminals. But today, I declare that I will kill you!"

Levy frowned, then he laughed gleefully. His laughter spread throughout the entire forest, but that only helped Lucifer's plan.

"You want to kill me even though you are just an inexperienced brat, ? Can't you at least see the difference in numbers here? You're alone while I have three!"

"I'm more than enough to kill you."

"You're brave, brat! How about this? If you listen to me, I won't kill you anymore. And since you seem smart, I'll let you work with me! How about it?"

Lucifer sighed in frustration:

"Are you going to kill me or just stay there and yap?"

"Insolent brat!"

Then, Levy ordered his two loyal dogs to charge forward at the same time. Sure enough, just as Lucifer had predicted, these two dogs had terrifying speed and incredibly strength.

They were definitely almost as strong as a Giant-level monster. But to Lucifer, they were nothing. He had killed many Beast-class monsters, and these two dogs were just animals after all, they weren't real monsters.

'These two dogs are fast! But let's see if they can move faster than a bullet!'

Lucifer quickly pulled out a gun that only had two bullets left. Then, he fired the last two bullets at the two dogs.

But the two bullets only grazed the legs of the two dogs and didn't kill them. But that was enough to make them unable to move anymore.

But at the same time, Lucifer had also lost his last two bullets. And it seemed that Levy had realized that as well.

"What? Out of bullets? That's all you have? Now it's my turn!"

Levy used his Ability to attract the dogs near the house towards him. Not long after, more than 100 dogs had completely surrounded the two of them.

Levy let out a delighted laugh while Lucifer still had a calm smile as if nothing had happened.

"All of you! Kill that brat for me!"

Not a single dog moved after receiving Levy's order. Realizing that, he became bewildered, seemingly not understanding what the hell was going on.

"How is it, Levy? How does it feel to be betrayed by your dogs?"

Lucifer let out a contemptuous laugh towards Levy. It was just a pity that he couldn't see his smile because he was blind.

What a waste.
