The Villain’s Perspective

Lucifer tried to run away from the monster, but it seemed like his efforts were in vain. With a speed faster than the speed of a bullet, the monster could easily chase Lucifer.

If he tried to climb the tree, the monster could use its terrifying bouncing power to catch up with him. In short, no matter how far Lucifer tried to run, the monster could still catch up with him.

If he wanted to survive, he had no choice but to confront the monster.

'Don't tell me I have to fight against that thing?'

Within a few seconds, Lucifer would no longer be able to use Shadow Movement for the next 20 minutes. His only advantage would no longer be able to function. So Lucifer needed to somehow survive during the Shadow Movement cooldown.

Lucifer immediately entered an area where the trees were growing super close to each other. Each tree was only 2 to 3 meters apart. His goal for coming here was to stop the monster's extreme bouncing ability and overwhelming speed.

Even if it continued to use its overwhelming speed, it would still collide into the trees that were growing close together.

Shadow Movement was no longer usable, but fortunately, Lucifer had hidden behind a tree. Lucifer endeavored to stay as quiet as possible to avoid revealing his location. Since the whole area was completely covered in darkness, the monster wouldn't be able to detect him.

While Lucifer was trying to remain as silent as possible, the monster continued to bump into the trees. After being collided with, some trees appeared holes in their trunks, while others were instantly cut in half.

'For real?!'

Lucifer had miscalculated the monster's bouncing power. The monster's bouncing power was so strong that it even broke the tree in half. Lucifer forced himself to hold his breath as the crashing sounds became louder by time.

Suddenly, the noise stopped. The whole forest was eerily silent. Even so, Lucifer couldn't let down his guard. His whole body was shaking, sweat was pouring down, but he still had to cover his mouth with both hands to not make even the slightest noise.

Suddenly, the tree he was leaning against suddenly shook once. Lucifer slowly looked up with a frightened gaze. There, a skinny hand with sharp fingers was right above him. It was only a few centimeters away from him.

Then, the monster's terrifying face slowly appeared on Lucifer's right side. Seeing it, Lucifer immediately pulled out his dagger, stabbed it in the face, and ran away.

Lucifer tried to dash around as many trees as possible to slow the monster down. It seemed to be quite useful because the monster kept crashing into the tree trunks. Even if it didn't slow it down, it would at least deal some damage to the monster.

Back to the main issue, since Lucifer was still using Shadow Movement, he wasn't just running aimlessly trying to shake it off, he was also seeking for something that could help him defeat this monster.

'Where is it? If it was in the forest, there should be something like that!'

There were still more than 15 minutes until Lucifer could activate Shadow Movement again, so for now he could only rely on his frail body.

If it was before, Lucifer would have been exhausted long ago after sprinting non-stop like this, but because he had gone through so many dangers and did so much exercise while in Levy's house, his stamina and speed had strengthened a little bit.

The monster was still trying to catch Lucifer, instead of moving on two legs, it was moving using two legs and two arms. Even though it had been hit so many times against the tree trunk, it still seemed to be in good shape.

'Damn it! Where is that thing!'

Lucifer had no choice but to ignore the monster and focus on finding what he needed. Suddenly, Lucifer felt that the ground he was stepping on was quite soft and mushy.

'I found it!'

Lucifer was overjoyed after finding a swamp. To confront a monster with such incredible speed and terrifying bouncing power, it was essential to neutralize its only advantages.

And to do that, Lucifer needed a swamp.

Without hesitation, Lucifer immediately went deeper into the swamp. His legs were sinking deeper and deeper, but he didn't care. Right now, he was only thinking about trapping and killing that monster.

On the other hand, the monster had found Lucifer's location. It immediately climbed on a tall tree and gained momentum to prepare for its bounce. Little did it know that this was a trap that Lucifer had set for it.

The monster instantly bounced to where Lucifer was at a speed that tore through the air. Mud splashed everywhere as the monster collided into it. The monster gave Lucifer a terrifying smile and walked towards him.

But the monster couldn't move. No matter how hard it tried, the distance between it and Lucifer didn't change. Even if it tried to bounce towards Lucifer, it wouldn't work.

The reason was simple: The monster had sunk deep into the swamp after it was charging into the mud. That's why the monster couldn't move anymore. 

Meanwhile, Lucifer, who had not sunk too deep into the swamp like the monster, was still able to move slowly. Lucifer gradually approached the monster with the dagger in his hand.

Although the monster couldn't move, at least it could still move its arms. It continuously swung its fists at Lucifer, not allowing him to get any closer.

Lucifer felt quite amused as he watched the stick-like hand struggling helplessly.

"Desperate, right? How does it feel to know that you are about to die because of someone weaker than you? Do you hate yourself for being too weak? Do you even understand what I'm saying?" Lucifer said as he approached the monster.

He quickly pushed away the hands that were trying to punch him and raised his dagger high. Lucifer emitted such a thick murderous aura that even the monster had to make a terrified expression.

"Goodbye."

The dagger stabbed down.
