The SSS Ranked Villain's Return

Chapter 372: Moon Massacre, And Determination

"Phew." Evangeline let out an annoyed breath, glancing at Neraxis, who had a thin golden blood thread wrapped around her waist. "Are you planning on holding me here forever?"

Neraxis tilted his head. "Can I?"

"Hmm... maybe. But not now," Evangeline dismissed it regrettably as she looked around.

Before the explosion overtook them all, Neraxis managed to teleport them to the surface of the moon. Albeit, he wasn't sure how he did it.

His teleportation powers worked where, as long as he was under the sun, he could teleport to another area that was lit up by the sun. But clearly, that was no longer the case anymore.

"Hey, why sweat the small stuff?" Evangeline asked. "It just means your powers evolved. Maybe you can teleport from anywhere, to somewhere where only the sun exists?"

"Maybe..." he muttered. "But it doesn't matter for now. I've decided we should kill them all."

With those words, Neraxis extended his hand and drew some blood. Immediately, a small hammerhead began to form before splitting into hundreds, then thousands of pieces.

He knew explosions weren't as effective in areas where there was no atmosphere, so he decided to fix that problem with numbers.

Neraxis kept drawing his blood and constantly creating those sun grenades, and after just a few seconds, Evangeline tapped on his shoulder, puzzled.

"You're going to destroy the moon? You know we can just send a full-power attack, and it would be destroyed, right?" she asked.

"I like it old-school," Neraxis replied with a chuckle. "Plus, the amount of Mana Capacity I have gives me more control over my blood. I've already made nearly a hundred thousand grenades, and I doubt I've used up even a fraction of my blood."

"Heh... well, that makes sense, I suppose," Evangeline said, rubbing her chin. "But really? Your Mana Capacity works with your blood? That's not the same case for me. I need to drink blood to get more blood, you know?"

"Maybe it's because of the Sun Vampirism part," Neraxis mused, and before Evangeline could even speak up, he raised his hand, parting all the Sun Grenades he had created.

He sent a bunch of them down into the facility, and the rest toward the people who were scattered around, doing all sorts of lab experiments on tiny vials of blood. He didn't need to guess whose blood that was, as it had a tinge of golden, just like his.

So as he finished scattering all the grenades around, he simply flicked his fingers.

And then, silence. There was no sound of an explosion, nor was there a shockwave.

Yet as he glanced down, he saw heaps of blood floating slightly above the ground and body parts scattered everywhere.

And yet, Neraxis didn't even bat an eye as he glanced at the two unconscious girls in his arms.

He let out a sigh. This really won't do... I need to exterminate these people.

If this was the first time the government had done something wrong, then he might have found some way to deal with it differently. But by now, he had completely lost count of how many times the government had gotten in his way.

If anything, he hated them as much as he hated the heroes. But then again, most of the heroes were dead now. Those who remained weren't exactly the biggest of threats either.

Even so, Neraxis took one final glance at the moon, which now had pools of blood orbiting it, and with that, he grabbed Evangeline and teleported back to his world.

He arrived at his house—not in the other continent, but the one where he had lived his entire life.

It was abandoned, obviously, but even so, he placed the girls down on the living room bed and turned to Evangeline.

"Can you look over them?"

"And where exactly are you going to go?" she asked, baffled. "You just came back, and you already want to do something reckless?"

"Mhm." Neraxis nodded plainly. "There's way too much stuff I need to do before I can settle down. Until then, I don't think I even want to face the others."

After all, not only did he have the threat of the Sovereigns looming around the corner, he also had the big boss himself, Lagus.

But there was one upside to this situation. He knew where Lagus was located.

Even if it was only a shell, Neraxis realized killing any version of Lagus actually affected his strength severely.

So if he went ahead and killed Lagus in every timeline he could find, then that would significantly boost his chances of winning in the end.

And from the silent stare, it seemed like Evangeline understood that too.

But her gaze held a certain hint of persistence in it, so he couldn't help but point it out.

"You're thinking of helping me?" Neraxis asked with a raised brow.

"Of course," Evangeline replied. "While you're busy dealing with the more important stuff, we can tick off the boring list. Such as finding the pieces of the Sovereigns that would help us kill them faster. You know... the things Alice talked about?"

"I'm aware." He nodded. "And I guess... sure, you can help me. But I want you to prioritize safety above all else. If it seems like you're in danger, then run away. The same applies to the others. If you can't agree to this one request, then I'm not going to let you help me."

It was as simple as that. He knew how reckless Evangeline could be, and most likely, her recklessness would rub off on the other girls as well.

The last thing he wanted was to defeat the Sovereigns and Lagus, then have no one left to come back to.

"Hmm... I guess I can try." Evangeline giggled. "So when are you going to head out?"

"Now," Neraxis replied flatly. "And as for you... just wait until these two wake up, alright?"

"If you say so." Evangeline shrugged. "I'll take them back to the mountain, but I'd like it if you could give them more of your blood."

He stared at her for a few moments, then slashed his wrist, drawing a bunch of blood. But instead of letting it fall to the ground, he hovered the blood in midair, then put it into a nearby glass.

And then, with a warm smile and a wave, Neraxis teleported out.
