Chapter 49: Power of the Orange Revolver
"…"
Kael peeked from behind the bed and tried to find the ginger-haired Willow anywhere, but it seemed as if she was hiding.
'Where is she…'
At that moment, he looked towards the spectators and saw that some of them were looking in his direction, while a few others looked elsewhere.
'This is how she has been able to find my locations all this time. She is using the line of sight of the spectators to find me!'
Kael pondered for a moment, looked over to the middle of the room, and saw a wooden beam just standing there, in an upright position.
It was as if the wooden beam was taken from the old abandoned house down the street, and it wasn't connected to anything.
Kael pointed the revolver there and fired two rubber bullets over there.
Bang! Bang!
The bullets landed against the wooden beam, made it wobble, and eventually came crashing down.
Surprised by the sudden noise, the spectators looked over to the fallen wooden beam.
Kael peeked from the other side, looked over the spectators, and then had a frown appear across his face.
While everyone else was looking towards the fallen wooden beam, Esme was still staring in his direction.
'She knows that Willow is using the line of sight of the spectators to know where I am, so she wants to help her best friend, and thus, she will keep staring in my direction no matter what!'
Kael thought.
However, he knew that she was standing in the right-sided room, so as long as he went to the left side of the room, she would have a much harder time keeping track of him.
'I have two bullets left…'
Kael hunched behind the bed and quickly crossed the open gap between the bed and shelf.
As soon as he did that, he heard a bang, and a rubber bullet headed his way, but it just barely went over his head.
Kael reached the left side of the room, but the spectators just turned their gazes on him, and thus, Willow was able to keep track of him.
"Look away, now."
Kael pointed the revolver at them, and the spectators quickly averted their gazes to avoid looking at him.
'Two bullets each…'
He thought, looked across the room, and checked where the spectators looked—they were moving their gaze slowly, as it looked like Willow was slowly making her way towards him.
Kael stood up, grabbed the revolver with both hands, and pointed the barrel towards the back of the room.
At that moment, the red hair fluttered behind the cover, and then she showed her face, and as soon as she did that, Kael fired a bullet over there.
Bang! Swoosh!
The rubber bullet just barely missed her, and she retreated back to her cover.
'Shit… The target was so small that I missed!'
Kael again sat down to hide behind the cover, checked the chamber, and saw that he only had one rubber bullet left.
'She is hiding behind a bed that had been flipped over to its side…'
A crazy thought came to his mind, and he forced his lips to curl into a smile—pretending—and then he ran out of his cover.
With a mad-looking lunge, he started running towards Willow, where she was hiding, and without further ado, she revealed herself from behind the cover.
Her hands were grabbing her orange revolver tightly, and she pulled the trigger.
Bang!
Kael rolled to the side to dodge the bullet, and then he kicked down Willow's bed cover, but she quickly rolled sideways to avoid being crushed by it.
She turned to Kael and pointed her revolver at him with a smile.
Bang!
A resounding sound of a bang came.
Kael hid behind the overturned bed, didn't feel like the rubber bullet hit him, and he smiled victoriously.
'She is out of the bullets!'
He chased after her and then found her hunching behind her cover—he pulled his revolver and pointed there.
"You're out of bullets. Do you want to forfeit, or do I have to shoot you?"
At that moment, Willow stood up from behind the cover, looking like she was giving up, but at that moment, she turned around with the revolver in hand.
"Hehe~"
She giggled and pulled the trigger.
A rubber bullet flew out of the barrel and hit Kael in the shoulder, which forced him to drop his black revolver to the ground.
"Argh!" Text acquired from M|V|LEMP&YR.
Kael fell to the ground with a pain in his shoulder, and he painfully rubbed his shoulder, which definitely had a bruise forming.
"Yippee!"
Willow jumped in victory, and the ones spectating clapped their hands, while Finn begrudgingly had to pay his losses.
"I counted your bullets, and you used seven. You had an extra bullet? That is cheating."
Kael said with a frown.
"Did I, though?"
Willow walked from over the corner with a smile on her face, rolled the chamber of her revolver, and winked.
"Orange Revolver—the second ability I received as a first level—is also not as shallow as just the ability to summon a weapon of killing.
"I made the revolver let out a fake sound of a bang to make you think that I had wasted my last bullet, but actually, I still had one bullet in the chamber.
"I made you drop your guard~"
Kael exclaimed, looked at his black revolver on the ground, and couldn't believe that he was tricked like that.
It wasn't because he was lacking intelligence but knowledge. The power of knowledge couldn't be underestimated!
If he had only known that such a thing was possible, he would've never lost like this!
'I am thankful that I learned such a thing before any death-and-life situation that would include enemy Outlaw. I still have a lot to learn!'
"You're good for a newbie, but I also handicapped myself because you're new."
Willow said with a smile.
At that moment, Esme walked from the door with a smug smile on her beautiful face, and she crossed her arms over her breasts.
"Willow didn't use any of her level 2 skills, and if she wanted to, she could've ended the fight without that small trick of hers.
"You're far from being on her level!"
She said smugly.
"That's enough, Esme… I have been in the Whitesky a year longer than he has, so it's not a surprise that I won."
Willow said with a wry smile.
"Good match."
Kael said with a smile, picked up the black revolver, and walked out of the fight room, but as he walked away, his smile faded.
'I'll get stronger…'
