Chapter 34: Tour of the School
"This is the common room!"
Finn walked through the double doors, and was immediately greeted by the sound of laughter and chatter from the other students.
The common room looked nice with a fireplace, comfortable chairs, and a big window that let in the golden afternoon light.
The walls were made out of wood, the floor was covered in a plush rug, and the overall atmosphere was cozy and inviting.
Three students were seated around a table, reading some thick books, and the room was filled with the sound of their quiet conversation.
"Hey, guys!"
Finn called out, entering the room with a big smile on his face, and the three students greeted him nonchalantly but then noticed that he wasn't alone.
"Wait… Soul?"
Esme whispered in shock but then frowned and noticed that the vibe around this person was completely different.
While Soul was a warm person, this one had a colder aura and seemed quite unapproachable.
"Soul? Who's that? This here is Kael, a new student!"
Finn said with a smile and patted Kael on the back.
"Oh…"
Esme's interest disappeared, and she turned back to the book in front of her.
"This glasses-wearing girl is Esme Harper. She is a smart one, but it's not a surprise, since she is of the Magician Pathway."
Finn said with a smile.
"Hmm…"
Kael nodded, thought about mentioning that he was Soul's twin brother, which might make others warm up to him more, but dropped that idea.
He doubted it was something that Outlaw would do.
"Hey… Why are you going and sharing that with strangers, Finn?"
Esme asked with a pout.
She was wearing a long floral dress, which pretty much hid everything that was under, and had short hair.
"Hehe, why does it matter? It's not like knowing your Pathway will make a single difference, hehe!"
Finn said with a smile.
"Have you asked his Pathway?"
Esme asked.
"No… What's your Pathway?"
Finn, realizing that he had forgotten about it, asked and turned to look at him.
"Outlaw."
Kael said.
The air turned slightly awkward.
"Well… You're not the only Outlaw here. A girl named Willow Tate is also an Outlaw, and she is your best friend, isn't she, Esme?"
"Mmh…"
Esme mumbled under her breath, and the two other students remembered Willow and put aside some of their early worries.
While Outlaws had a bad reputation, Willow was a warm person, so being an Outlaw didn't mean that the person was automatically evil.
"This blue-eyed fellow here is Elias Carter of Leader Pathway. On Earth, he was a high school history teacher, but here he is, another student just like us!"
Finn said with a smile.
With a lazy wave, Elias greeted him and turned back to the flipping pages of the book.
"And this one is Julian Hayes!"
Finn rubbed Julian's shoulders, who was drinking through a straw, and turned to Kael with a nod.
He had sun-bleached hair, a perpetual tan, and a strange lazy vibe around him that made it seem like he might fall asleep at any point.
"We sometimes gather in the common room to hang around, play some games, or just chill. It's good bonding time, for sure, but let's continue the tour!"
Finn excitedly said, walking out of the common room, leading Kael down the hallway to a room that was slightly ajar.
"Yo, Owen!"
Finn just slammed the door open, and Owen was standing by the window, smiling at his own reflection and flexing his muscles without a shirt on.
It looked like he liked his own body more than most narcissists.
"How many times have we said to you, Finn, to not just barge into our rooms!"
Owen screamed, his face turning red with anger, but Finn just cheekily smiled as if he didn't care at all.
"I just wanted to introduce you to the new student. Here's Kael!"
Finn pointed at Kael with his thumb, and Owen looked over to him, recognized him slightly as Soul, but knew that he was dead, so it couldn't be him.
"Hi… You do have a scary resemblance to another student who used to go here." This chapter is part of the collection on MV2LEMP2YR.
"So it does seem."
Kael said with a wry smile.
"Owen is of Ranged Pathway. I am surprised that he didn't become Primal because of his obsession with his own muscles, but I guess the God of Primals didn't want him, hahahaha!"
Finn laughed, and before Owen blew his lid, he took Kael out of the room and barged inside another person's room.
"Hey, Felix!"
Lying on the bed, Felix looked over with an annoyed look and tossed a stress ball towards him, but Finn just ducked under it.
"Felix was a firefighter back on Earth, and he does not really like to talk, but he is of Primal Pathway. I once angered him enough for him to go full Primal Mode on me, and it was hilarious!"
Finn said with a giggle.
"Finn is the youngest student over here and easily the most annoying one. I just have a warning for you: don't ask about alchemy, or you'll regret it.
"I once did, and he talked my ears off for three hours!"
Felix shouted, remembering the horrors.
"Haha, he is joking. I don't think it was three hours."
Finn waved his hand with a scoff and took Kael to yet another room, where he barged inside without knocking.
"Ivy~"
With a blush of a young man in love, Finn looked inside the room and saw a beautiful young woman standing in the middle of the room.
It looked like she was in the middle of something.
"Finn! Don't enter my room without knocking, please. If you do it again, I will tell the headmaster and get you punished!"
With an embarrassed blush, Ivy shouted.
"Hehe, you look so pretty when you're embarrassed."
Finn shyly scratched the back of his head.
Kael looked indifferent in the room, but then his gaze shifted to the corners of the room, and his eyes widened in shock.
He found something truly insane.
A half-eaten bread, an Iris Coin, a hair strand, and an upside-down chair—in every corner of the room, there was one of them—and to some, it would only look strange, but to him, it was something much more shocking.
'She is also doing the ritual? Did she also see a dream and have been trying to do it? Or could it be that this ritual is actually real and only works in Whitesky?
'There's no way there is such a big coincidence that someone else also saw the exact same dream as I did!'
