The Second Chance of Reincarnator

Chapter 30: Master of the Crimson Book

Following Raheem's outburst, the atmosphere in the house turned very tense, and the tea in the cups remained untouched as everyone sat in silence.

"You didn't give them a choice. You never warned them. I saw Edna's face when she was already dead, and she looked horrified.

"Horrified of death."

Kael said coldly.

"You feel pity towards them? Hah! They're also despicable, as they wanted these people to die. Edna wanted a fellow human of Earth to die!

"Sure, he might've been a piece of shit, but why are you acting like she was innocent? She also has blood on her hands.

"The book also has the word 'retribution' in it—she wanted a bloody revenge and got her retribution in the end!"

Raheem said angrily.

"How many wanted Rav'akari to die? Hmm? I bet that most people that visited you had suffered in the hands of Rav'akari, so do you think they were also pieces of shit?

"You're trying to justify your actions, but all I heard was panic. You and I will be taking a walk to the Guild's headquarters."

With a flick of his wrist, a black revolver appeared in Kael's hand, and he pointed it straight at Raheem with his finger already on the trigger.

"A Blessed One? Outlaw as well, haha. Do you know the fun fact that most murders among Blessed Ones happen at the hands of Outlaws?

"Outlaws have to thrive in chaos to strengthen their vessels, but most of them go too far and mix chaos with murder and killing.

"Y'know, if you try to be a Knight of Justice, it will hurt your blessing. I think you're new, Blessed One, as you don't have the grime of the others yet.

"A mind image—you might not know what that is—but you can find your Blessed Self's image in your mind, and the size of your Blessed Self reflects the strength of your vessel.

"You start as small as an ant but then grow as your vessel strengthens, and if your Blessed Self becomes too small, you'll lose your blessing."

Raheem said with a cold smile.

"So, do you think you want to take that risk and act like a justice warrior, hmm?"

Kael cocked the gun and sighed.

"Stand up, and walk to the door."

"Tch, tch, tch…"

Raheem slowly stood up, but then his right hand traced the cover of the crimson book, and his eyes turned bloodshot.

"Can you please lower your gun?"

With a voice so cold that it could even freeze the winter, Kael turned stiff like a statue, and he slowly lowered the black revolver.

'This is the power of Leader, but he shouldn't have the strength to make me do actions. My brother couldn't, and he was level 3.

'I don't think Raheem is higher than that, and even if he is, he should be vastly stronger than Soul to achieve that.

'I think that crimson book is enhancing Raheem's abilities!'

Kael thought in a panic.

"Ahh~"

Raheem stood up with the crimson book in hand, smiled, and walked around the edges of the room with a laugh.

"Do not be mistaken. I am just a lowly level 2 Leader. The class name is Negotiator. I negotiated with you to lower your gun, and you did.

"This crimson book does more than just kill people. It'll enhance the strength of the one who wields it, and this time around, it's me!"

Raheem laughed.

"W-What is that book really?"

Kael asked.

"It is a Cursed Artifact. The Book of Revenge, Retribution, and Suffering is said to have been created by an ancient sorcerer with a thirst for vengeance.

"It's Grade is Unstable—it's the second lowest grade of Cursed Artifacts, but do not let that fool you; even the lowest grade can be dangerous under the right circumstances."

Raheem said, flipped through the crimson pages of the book, and reached the final page—with a wave of his hand, an ink pen appeared out of thin air.

"I can also write on this book, and with a few words, I can order this book to kill you, and there's nothing you can do about that.

"I can even make it look like an accident."

He tapped the ink pen against his chin, walked in a circle, and kept pondering about countless ways he could make him die.

'What to do? I can't raise the revolver still, as his Negotiator powers are still in effect somehow.'

Kael thought to himself, looked at the floor, where the revolver was pointing, and then dropped it.

It thudded on the floor with a metallic clink.

Negotiator effects disappeared from the moment he let go of the revolver—it was because the effect was related to the revolver—with that gone, so was the effect.

"Argh!"

Kael sprang to his feet and swung his fist at Raheem, but he blocked it with the book, and he then grabbed Kael from his collar and hurled him across the room.

"If you think I am physically incapable as Leader, you're greatly mistaken. My divinity is stronger than yours!"

"Urgh!"

Kael smashed into the wall, dented it, and slid down on the ground, but then with a flick of his wrist, he summoned his revolver back to his hand.

He immediately pointed it towards Raheem and pulled the trigger three times.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The bullets zoomed through the air and headed towards Raheem at full speed—the crimson book moved automatically—and it blocked the bullets.

"Hahaha. The crimson book is very protective of me, you see."

Raheem said with a smirk, then with the ink pen, wrote furiously on the last page of the crimson book.

"Poor Kael couldn't handle the losing of his loved one, and out of depression, he put his gun in his mouth and pulled the trigger, splattering his brains across the walls."

With a final wave of the ink pen, he finished writing, and the crimson pages fluttered until it shut with a loud thud.

Kael's eyes trembled, his arm moved, and he stuffed the long barrel of the black revolver inside his mouth.

The finger of his touched the trigger.
