Ch. 207
Chapter 207
"Hh...!?"
Clael was stunned by the sudden turn of events.
They had been chatting while eating at the table, and yet Erika, who had been sitting across from him, suddenly threw him.
Before he knew it, he was slammed to the floor, straddled, grabbed by the collar, and had her face brought close to his...
"Mmgh...!"
"Hh...!?"
And just as she was about to kiss him, a small shadow leapt in between them.
A soft sensation touched his lips. It was definitely not the feeling of human lips.
"Mmph..."
"Kuma—"
What had wedged itself between Clael and Erika was a Bear plushie.
As a result, his face was buried in the plushie's fluffy belly, enveloped entirely in the soft sensation of cotton.
"Nngh... Hey, what is this thing!?"
Erika, who had also ended up with her face buried in the Bear's back and rear, shouted in confusion.
Her face was completely red, clearly showing she was angry.
"You're like a boiling kettle... You get mad so fast."
As Clael peeled the Bear off his face, he pressed his hand to his chest, which was mysteriously pounding.
For a moment, he thought she was going to kiss him... but judging by her furious expression, that didn't seem to be the case.
(A headbutt... no doubt about it.)
She threw him, mounted him, and was about to headbutt him.
He didn't know what landmine he had stepped on... but Erika had been about to unleash a flurry of attacks on Clael.
If the Bear plushie hadn't jumped in, his forehead might have been split wide open.
"Thanks for cushioning me... That aside, did you maybe follow us here?"
"Kuma kuma."
"Seriously, you little rascal. It's not like you can eat the food here."
This was the Bear he had left behind in the staff dormitory room.
Maybe it had chased after them because it wanted to come along so badly.
"Sorry about that. It's a family member of mine. Anyway... what the hell was that about? You suddenly threw me and tried to headbutt me—what's your deal?"
"............"
"Did I say something that ticked you off? Even so, going straight to violence is a bit much, don't you think...?"
"............"
As Clael asked while casting Healing Magic on himself, Erika stood frozen, her fists trembling.
Maybe because she failed the headbutt, she was now planning to speak with her fists. Clael was careful not to enter Erika's striking range.
"...Now I'm sure of it. You really are a formidable foe."
"Huh? You mean me?"
"No, I don't... You're more of a weakling, honestly."
Erika said bitterly and shook her head.
In Clael's arms, the Bear plushie grinned.
Clael was still bewildered... but just then, a waiter from the restaurant timidly approached the three of them.
"Um... if you're going to cause a scene, could I ask you to leave? You're disturbing the other customers..."
The waiter's tone was polite, but his gaze was sharp.
A quick glance around revealed cold stares coming from the other tables as well.
It was no surprise—after all, someone had suddenly started wrestling in the middle of a refined dining environment.
"You'll leave... right?"
""............Yes.""
The two of them responded in unison and were kicked out of the restaurant before they could even get their dessert.
