The Mob Priest Will Raise the Heroine

Ch. 206

Chapter 206

Clael finished up in the restroom and returned to the table where Erika was waiting.

"Oh, you were slow."

"Really? I don't think I kept you waiting that long..."

"Jeez, the hors d'oeuvres already arrived. Sit down quickly!"

Already on the table were the hors d'oeuvres—in other words, the appetizers.

Erika appeared to have waited for Clael to return without touching her plate.

"Wow, looks delicious."

Clael took his seat.

On the plate were hollowed-out cherry tomatoes stuffed with vegetables like basil and paprika, seasoned with olive oil and salt and pepper.

"Well then, let's eat."

"Yeah, let's give thanks to the goddess."

After offering a brief prayer as a priest, he brought a bite-sized salad to his mouth with a spoon.

"Mm, it's tasty."

"Yeah, it's light and really good."

As expected of a high-class restaurant's cuisine.

The seasoning brought out the flavors of the ingredients and was quite delicious.

Once the hors d'oeuvres were cleared, next came corn potage, white fish meunière, and the main dish—sautéed veal.

Each dish was excellently prepared. Reina's home cooking was delicious too, but this had a refined elegance unlike the homely taste.

"Even at the marquis household, we never had food this good."

"Yeah, I heard the chef here used to be a royal court cook."

"Is that so... Maybe I should bring Reina here next time."

"............"

When Clael murmured that, Erika stopped moving her fork and knife.

"Hm? What's wrong?"

"......You're awfully close with the Saint, aren't you?"

"Well, of course. She's family."

What was she saying? That was only natural.

Clael tilted his head as he cut into his food with a knife.

"Family, huh... Is that really all?"

"What do you mean?"

"Could it be... you're seeing the Saint as a woman?"

"Come on..."

Clael gave a wry smile at the outrageous accusation.

"No way, I'm not Hikaru Genji or anything."

"Hikaru... what?"

"Nah, anyway, I'd never lay a hand on a girl I raised myself."

"Right... yeah!"

For some reason, Erika looked delighted.

"Sure enough, you wouldn't lay a hand on someone like your little sister or daughter!"

"Yeah, obviously."

Clael wiped his mouth with a napkin and declared firmly, somewhat displeased.

"I admit Reina is attractive. But... I don't feel any lust toward her!"

"Right."

"Truly, Reina is more attractive than any other woman. Her face, of course, her silver hair is like fine silverwork, and her jade-colored eyes are like jewels. She's beautiful, like a piece of art crafted by god. No doubt about that."

"......Yeah."

"On top of that, her figure is amazing. Her waist is slim, but her chest is more developed than her age would suggest. Her skin is like pearls—she's the perfect woman."

"........................Yeah."

"But Reina's appeal isn't just her appearance. Her personality is great too. She's not just kind—she's got this supple strength that doesn't break. Being with her is comforting, but she also keeps you on your toes and makes your heart race. She's unpredictable in a good way. She's great at cooking too—not just our country's food but foreign dishes as well. At the academy, she's made lots of friends and is well-liked, and even at the Grand Shrine, many priests admire her... Well, if she weren't my family, I might've fallen for her too."

"............"

Erika fell silent.

Just a moment ago she had been in high spirits, but now she suddenly looked displeased.

He thought Reina was a safe topic... so why did she look so unhappy?

"......I think I just realized how enormous my enemy really is."

"Enemy... Who are you talking about?"

"You really have no idea, do you... I mean, your cluelessness is practically criminal."

"............?"

What did she mean by clueless?

He thought of himself as a fairly perceptive and quick-witted person.

"If it's come to this... then I might have to take matters into my own hands...!"

"Huh... take what kind of action...?"

"Steel yourself, Erika Jermie. It's time to end this worthless one-sided love...!"

For some reason, Erika kept taking deep breaths as if giving herself a pep talk.

Clael, puzzled, set down the knife and fork he had been holding.

"Hah!"

"Wha!?"

In the next moment, Erika grabbed Clael's hand and threw him.

Caught off guard, he was unable to break his fall and slammed onto his back on the floor.

"Guh... Wh-what are you...!"

"Prepare yourself...!"

And then... Erika straddled Clael's body.

Just where had he stepped on a landmine?

Erika grabbed Clael's collar and brought her face close to his...

"Mmph...!"

"Mm...!?"

And then... Erika kissed Clael.
