Ch. 208
Chapter 208
Clael and Erika were kicked out of the restaurant for causing a ruckus inside.
Clael stepped out onto the street, holding the Bear plushie in his arms... and glared at Erika in displeasure.
"Because of your rampage, I missed out on dessert. What are you going to do about it?"
"It's fine, isn't it? I wasn't the one who paid."
Erika pouted sulkily and turned her face away from Clael.
"That's not the point... Why did you go wild inside the restaurant?"
"You're the one at fault."
"Huh?"
"You're the one at fault. No doubt about it."
What kind of logic is that?
Erika was the one who unilaterally resorted to violence. Why did Clael have to be blamed?
"Seriously... you're really impregnable. Even though you have zero defense yourself, that kid's guard is way too strong."
"You're talking about defense? I can enhance it a bit with support magic, but...?"
"...This is what I mean."
Erika once again leaned her face toward Clael.
Just when he thought it was another headbutt—once again, the Bear leapt in.
"Bear!"
"Bearrr!"
"Bear-bear!"
Yet again, the Bear plushie jumped in and blocked it.
And this time... there were three of them. One protected Clael from the headbutt, while the other two pushed against Erika's knees to pull her away.
"This is what I mean..."
Erika twisted her face in frustration and backed away from Clael.
"No, what do you mean by that...?"
He had absolutely no idea.
Why was Erika so determined to headbutt Clael like this?
"Hey... I may be mild-mannered, but if you keep trying to hit me like that, I'm going to get mad, okay?"
"I'm the one who's mad... How much shame do you think you've made me suffer?"
"No, you're the one getting angry on your own."
"Enough. I'm going home."
Erika briskly walked off into the night.
Even though they had taken a carriage to get here, she was walking home?
"Hey, you're walking home in that outfit?"
Erika was wearing a dress. On her feet were heeled shoes.
It really wasn't an outfit suited for walking home... but Erika waved her hand with a flutter.
"It's fine. This much is nothing... Tell that kid for me, 'From now on, I'm getting serious.'"
"............"
Who is "that kid"?
From earlier, everything Erika had said was nothing but nonsense.
"I'll make it up to you another time... Let's go drinking at a place more fitting for us next time."
"You're buying. No exceptions."
Clael called out to Erika's back to make sure she understood.
Erika waved her hand as if to say "Got it," and disappeared into the night.
"............Haa."
Seeing his friend off, Clael let out a sigh.
She had suddenly shown up, dragged him out for a meal, interrupted it with sudden violence, and then left without warning. He really had no idea what was going on until the very end.
"............"
Clael turned around and looked up at the restaurant they had just exited.
"...I really wanted that dessert."
He had heard the dessert on the menu was orange sherbet.
He had been looking forward to it... but it seemed he had missed out.
"Maybe I'll come back with Reina next time..."
Clael slowly shook his head, brushing off his lingering regret.
Considering the chaos they caused, it was a relief they hadn't been banned from the place.
"Next time, I'm definitely going to sit down and enjoy it properly..."
Clael vowed to return again and walked away from the front of the restaurant.
