The Married Life Of Immortals

Chapter 91: I Am Perfectly Fine

Bane wasted no time in tracking down Lysia, who was at their home in the training hall. She noticed him almost immediately, frowning as the door almost flew off the hinges as Bane burst through.

"Do you not know how to knock?" Lysia demanded, but then stopped when she saw the serious look on his face.

"Looks like we are going to be spending the next three months apart. I only have an hour before a demon comes looking for me, and something tells me that I don't want that," Bane explained, but Lysia was frozen in place.

"Where are you going?" Lysia asked, but Bane could only shrug.

"A demon world or something," Bane said casually, but it was like a kick in the stomach for Lysia.

She had just found this man, not even getting to finish their marriage before he was leaving. Lysia was over 12000 years old, but something about three months suddenly felt like forever to her. Still, Lysia showed none of these feelings outwardly.

"So you are going to train? Good! You probably need this! I am sure you should get humbled there!" Lysia snapped suddenly, and Bane smiled warmly before walking over and taking her into his arms.

Lysia didn't hug him back, even though she wanted to, but she let Bane pick her up and take her to sit on the bed. For the next forty three minutes, the two of them just sat there. Bane knew that there was no point in trying to explain anything. It would just start a fight, and he wanted this last memory to be a warm one. These next three months were most likely going to take him to a hell like nothing he had ever experienced before, so Bane just wanted to soak in this feeling.

At exactly one hour, the demon appeared. Bane didn't know where he had been, or what he was doing, but the painting suddenly appeared, floating in the air above the bed.

"Is that it?" Bane asked, and the picture looked at the elf in his arms.

"So you are the tether that binds it?" The painting asked Lysia, who scowled up at it.

"Shut it, demon, or I will purify you. I might not be able to kill you, but I promise that it will more than tickle!"

The painting sighed, putting a hand to its head. "And this is why I am worried. It is being tethered to a Wildling, who is one of the strongest elves on the planet."

"That is why I like her," Bane said proudly, and Lysia's scowl grew.

"What do you mean, left on the planet?" She growled, but the painting shrugged.

"Hardly my business," The painting said, and then a black portal appeared behind Bane, sucking him back, and right out from underneath Lysia.

Before she could answer, the portal, and the painting vanished, leaving Lysia alone in her room. Panic instantly gripped her, and Lysia's mind started to race as her door burst off the hinges as Nina rushed into the room.

"What was that?" She demanded, but then her eyes widened as she saw the tear in Lysia's eyes, and her pale face.

Nina raced over, sitting on the bed beside Lysia and grabbing her hand. "Where is Bane?"

"A demon just took him to the Demon World, and now I am going to kill Victor, or force him to send me where Bane is!" Lysia suddenly raged, bursting with energy that blew Nina back as Lysia stood up and blew a hole in her wall.

"Where are you going?" Nina demanded, and Lysia gave her a side-long glance.

"Victor's house."

In a burst of feral energy, Lysia shot across the village, smashing through the dimensional space that held Victor Westland's castle, then the white marble walls. In a single second, Lysia stood in front of the hooded man, her aura crackling as her hair started to change colors, and her eyes turned black.

"Where is he?" Lysia asked in a demonic voice that made Victor swallow any remaining spit in his mouth.

He had a feeling this would happen, but not to this degree. This form that was before him was usually only seen by her enemies that were about to die. This meant Victor needed to choose his word wisely, lest he be stabbed from every direction before even flinching. Lysia was no joke when it came to the control of magic, and his summons and demon magic were no match, even if he was stronger.

"...The one you seek has been sent training by the rogue in his head," Victor finally said, but then flinched as the room turned into spikes that shot from every direction. They all stopped just before his body, but made it impossible to move.

"Then send me there," Lysia growled, but Victor shook his head.

"You would die in seconds. Bane is the only being that can enter that world that isn't a demon. If you go there, you will die, and not matter how much you threaten me, I am more scared of your husband," Victor sighed, and the spikes retreated, but they were then replaced by fists made from steel and rock that started to pummel the man.

Lysia did not stop, and it was a full five minutes before she stopped, leaving Victor a broken mess. She still felt no better, and now was worried. Bane had a lot of strength, and even more determination, but was he going to survive three months in the Demon World?

As Lysia pondered, Victor's body reformed, and he let out a sigh. "I didn't ask for him to come here. It was that damned assassin that led him here! Ezio! Go abuse him! I only looked at him, and then left when he tried to talk to me!"

Lysia's aura flared, and Victor flinched, but then relaxed as she seemed to calm down slightly. "Where did the demon take him?"

"How should I know? I have a summoning contract with him, but it is very limited. I don't know what the place is. The only thing I do know is demons live there, and there is only demonic energy. Everything else about the place is a mystery."

Lysia nodded, and then looked around the place. "You have a lot of paintings."

Victor narrowed his eyes at her. "You broke into my house, threatened to kill me, and then beat the shit out of me, and now you are asking me about my paintings?"

"I will be leaving now, but know that I will be back. Three months is a long time, and you had better hope that he comes back the same person," Lysia warned, ignoring the man's question.

She walked out of the house, and then out into the village, not bothering to fix the crack she had caused in Victor's dimensional barrier, going straight to Morgana's house. The next three months were going to be a trying time for not only Bane, but the Village of Heroes as well.
