Chapter 66: Becoming A Champion?
"I accept, but I do not plan on being your champion. I will help in whatever battle you're speaking of and all I want is resources." He said calmly looking at Nymeria.
Hearing this the three beings all had different reactions.
"Haha, see! this kid is interesting!" Set laughed
"A mere human being so arrogant." Gildarion scoffed.
Nymeria on the other hand was curious as to why he would suggest something like that.
"Why would you agree to the battle you have no information of, but turn down the offer to become stronger? The opportunity to become a champion is at a hundred times better than any of these inheritances." Nymeria probed
Ignoring the two men Akasha looked at Nymeria and said straightforwardly
"Well to be honest with you, it's not much you can offer me that could help me personally. If you give me resources that cannot be obtained here, then that would help me much more. And the battle? Well, I accepted it partially for entertainment and partially to uphold the deal between us."
"He dares to say we have nothing to offer, him? What ignorance!" Gildarion exclaimed.
This time Set didn't laugh out. He only looked at Akasha with a glint of curiosity.
"Well, we can agree to that if that's what you truly want. The thing is that you won't be able to receive these resources any time soon." Nymeria said. Although she had questions, she decided to not ask them for now.
Hearing this Akasha frowned slightly.
"And why won't I be able to get them? Also how far away is this battle?" He asked Nymeria.
"Unless you find a way to enter into the Middle Dimension then it would be impossible for you to get the resources right now. And the battle will be happening in about 15,000 years." She spoke.
*silence*
Akasha didn't say anything he just simply looked at each one of them. After taking long looks at them he exhaled before saying.
"What bullshit! Why are you talking as if it'll be happening tomorrow?! And what's so special about this battle that you need to find a champion so far in advance?"
"Kid." This time Set spoke.
"Although it sounds like a long time, the stronger you become the faster the passage of time becomes. For people like us 15,000 years could be one or two cultivation sessions."
"And you may or may not know, but the Supreme Golden Age should be starting soon. This is something that last for thousands of years. The date of 15,000 years later was predicted by a Seer in the Middle Dimensions." Nymeria added.
Hearing all of this Akasha was thinking to himself
'Supreme Golden Age, Dimension bullshit, Seers, Kalpa and it's secrets....Oh let's not forget about the six transmigrators we have chilling watching over the damn planet. Not even mentioning the got damn transmigrator right outside!
Shit, that's not even mentioning me! I'm the biggest fucking mystery. So much bullshit!'
"Alright, what's next? I need that 'Elven Ode to Life', not for me personally but for a friend of mines outside." He said as he would worry about the other bullshit later.
"Well, you can take it to her simply its only an ancient scroll. Once she opens it she will understand what to do next." Nymeria said while pulling out a scroll and floating it towards Akasha.
Hearing this Akasha nodded and placed the scroll into The Sanctuary. He then looked and asked
"So, is there anything else?"
"Since you decided against being our champion then there isn't anything else. Just increase your strength as much as possible in the meantime. We will contact you again through this token once the Supreme Golden Age is over." As she said this she floated a silver token that had a blue star on it over to Akasha.
He placed this in The Sanctuary too then he said
"Well, if that's all then I'll take my leave. Oh! Make sure to prepare those resources soon I will be coming to collect them in a few hundred years!" As he said this, he left the temple.
And when he left the atmosphere within the temple totally shifted.
Nymeria
Set
and Gildarion
They all became serious, and they looked at each other.
"What the hell was he?" Nymeria asked out. Even though none of them showed anything while they were talking to Akasha, they were all lowkey panicked for different reasons. For one, the moment he entered the temple before the allotted time he should exploded under the immense pressure.
But him? He simply walked in like he owned the place. He didn't even break sweat much less be affected by the pressure. Secondly, they couldn't uncover anything about him aside from his rank. This itself was odd because what person in the lower dimension could hide themselves from higher beings?
Well? None! It was simply impossible because when a person from the lower dimensions stepped in front of a higher-level being then they would become a literal open book. Their entire life and secrets could be revealed with a glance. They could even read the minds of lower-level beings.
[A/N: Just to clarify when I say 'Higher-Level' or 'Lower-Level' beings, I am not referring to their ranks. You could think of it like a three-dimensional being vs a four-dimensional being.]
But when they looked at Akasha, they got nothing. They couldn't even read his mind, and this made them a bit on guard. And finally, his demeanor also left them a bit on edge. The three of them were all people who lived for numerous epochs and all of them have honed survival instincts.
So, they could tell when someone was bluffing or if they really had a card to play. And with Akasha they simply couldn't tell.
Hearing Nymeria's question Set spoke
"I honestly couldn't get anything aside from his rank. It could be a good thing or a bad thing that he agreed to help us and right now I can't tell."
"Yea the kid is impressive. He needs to experience more, and he will be fine. I only hope that he can survive that treacherous Supreme Golden Age." Surprisingly Gildarion spoke out in a totally different manner than before. He now resembled a true noble Dragon.
"Well, we will keep an eye on him from time to time. Who would've thought, that out of all the Galaxy's we visited in that Universe that we would find someone so interesting in this one?" Nymeria spoke out
"Yea truly surprising. Even out of all the countless Primordial Battlefields we left around. Only he is enough to help us... maybe he is even more than enough." Set said.
As he said this the other nodded and then their illusory forms disappeared leaving only their statues. This time the Elven statue looked a bit dimmer, but other than that everything remained the same.
On the outside while Akasha was making his way out there was a certain someone finally putting his plan into motion.
Krax Alale!
He had descended to the ground around the same time as Akasha's group. Except he landed in totally different location far enough that he wouldn't be in Akasha's vicinity. He concealed himself and watched everything that happened from afar.
When he saw Akasha enter the temple he also began to move. He spotted Braxus who was now recuperating around a few other titans. He steeled his resolve and approached them.
