Chapter 133: Did that seriously just happen?
"Okay, for your first S-Rank quest, we should go big! What do you say?" Kai asked as he and his girls were all huddled together.
Gwen spoke up as she was next in the rotation. "When you say big, how big are we talking? Dragon big?"
"Ooo, Yes! Let's fight a dragon!" Amaya exclaimed excitedly.
"Now that we're this strong, I think facing off against a dragon would be pretty awesome." Sasha agreed.
"Okay, but what about A drakon? They're bigger and more powerful." Kyana suggested.
"Where would we even find a drakon?" Nadya asked
"Hmm. These are all good questions. Since we don't know where a drakon is, we'll face off against a dragon for now. Gwen, you can also take its core and finally be complete."
"Good catch. I wasn't even thinking of that." She kissed Kai's cheek.
"So, are we fighting the dragon?" Amaya wondered.
Kai looked at the others. "Do you all want to?"
"I'm down." Kyana nodded.
"I think it will be fun. Also a bit scary." Nadya was a bit nervous about fighting a dragon, but she was confident in her abilities and trusted her team.
"Great! All of us agree. Now, there's something else I need to tell you all."
Everyone looked at Kai, wondering what he was going to say.
"We're joining the Hero Academy after we hunt our dragon."
"Finally!" Gwen exclaimed
Ayama's tail perked up. "Really? I can't wait!"
"School? I've never been before." Sasha smiled.
"The hero academy? Hmm. I guess." Kyana didn't care too much about going there. But since everyone else was excited about it, she didn't complain.
Nadya nodded, but truthfully, she didn't want to go. Not because she didn't feel like she wasn't talented enough, but because the noble family that ruined her own and forced her into slavery had two children who attended that school. Not wanting to break everyone's spirit, she kept it to herself and just smiled.
"Awesome! Let's go to the guild! There must be a quest related to a dragon there!"
---
There was no quest related to a dragon.
"Are you fucking serious!" Kai almost kicked over a table, but her calmed himself.
It wasn't surprising that there weren't any dragon quests available. There were plenty of S-Ranks around here, so they would have taken on the more difficult requests, earning more pay and resources.
Another reason was that there weren't many dragon sightings that happened. Dragons might be monsters, but they're extremely intelligent and keep to themselves. Only rogue dragons who stray away from their people are truly considered 'monsters'.
"There are plenty of Drake and Wyvern quests, wanna take those on?" Kyana suggested.
"What? No. Why would I want to fight a weaker monster? I want to fight a DRAGON!" Kai lifted his hand as a sign of strength.
"You've already battled that undead dragon. Does that count?" Sasha wondered
"Why would that count? YOU five haven't fought a dragon. This is the whole point of going on this quest. That and getting the core for Gwen." Kai explained, looking back at the quest board to see if he missed anything.
Nadya raised her hand, and all of them turned to her. "We could ask around. Usually, it takes a while for quests like these to appear on the board, right? Confirming a dragon sighting is pretty difficult after all."
"That's boring," Amaya complained.
Kai sighed and took a seat on a nearby chair. "I agree. That's a tedious process."
"Well, let's just wait for a quest to appear then." Sasha did want to take on a dragon, but she wasn't in a hurry to. If they needed to wait, then she was fine with that.
"Ughh! This is so annoying! What are the odds of someone walking through that door injured, yelling that a rogue dragon has been spotted, and they are in need of help? I swear on my FATHER that if such a thing happens, I'll do anything you five want, no matter what it is."
Right as Kai finished, a man covered in nasty scars, bruises, and blood, wearing broken armor, ran into the guild, collapsing to the ground the moment he did. From his expression, you could tell that he was struggling to stay alive, and he looked exhausted.
"D-Dragons." He managed to get out, struggling to stand.
Kai's eyes widened. 'No!'
"Dragons! Rouge dragons! They're in the forest of Rolimont! M-My team, they're all dead! They're all-" He fell back onto the ground, lifeless. The man died from his injuries.
'Are you fucking serious?!' Kai wanted to scream at the top of his lungs. But then, he remembered something.
"You!" He said angrily, pointing up at the sky. "You sick bastard! You're watching, arent you?! Just wait, I'll get you back!"
Over in his own realm, Leo was laughing his ass off as he was the one who created that scenario to mess with Kai.
"Hehehe!"
"Anything we say?"
"No matter what it is?"
"And you can't decline?"
"I-I like this deal."
All of Kai's girls had a sinister grin on their faces as they plotted what to have him do for them.
Nadya was the only one who looked normal, but it was obvious that she was plotting something crazy as fuck in her brain. It was always the calm, normal people who had the most wicked thoughts.
"Heh, you think I was serious? I don't even believe in my father. If you can hear me, strike me down right now!" Kai shouted.
*BOOOOOOOOOM*
Kai was struck by lightning.
"Woah!"
"What was that?"
"An attack?"
"Kai, are you okay?"
He was defeated. He couldn't win. It was his loss. He sighed, walked up to the counter to tell the receptionist that he was going to the forest of Rolimont to take on the dragons. She nodded, giving him the all clear, and Kai left the guild with his team.
"Hey, uhh, do you think we can, like, forget about this whole thing?" He asked, no, he begged.
"Hell no! I can't wait to boss you around!"
"I just wanna go hunting with you!" Amaya jumped on his back.
"I wonder what I'll have you do." Sasha smiled.
Kyana wiped her drooling face as she thought about the things she wanted to do to Kai.
Nadya just stayed still and smiled like a saint. That smile struck more fear in Kai than the others.
"Fuck, what did I get myself into?"
