Chapter 132: Five continents
"So, still want to bless me or..."
"NO! No, it's fine. It's okay! You don't need my blessing. In fact, here!" Gracia touched Kai's forehead and gave him the ability to use her power at will. She didn't bless him; she simply handed him a controller that would allow him to use her divine power on her own level, a level higher than the typical hero blessing.
"You should be able to use the Hero Sword's full power now. Also, my followers will sense my divine power in you, so they will assume that I blessed you. Just go along with that. It will be pretty hard to explain everything that happened here."
"I have a question." Kai sat down on the grass and looked straight into Gracia's eyes. He's been wondering about this for a while, and technically, he knew the answer, but he still wanted to hear it from Gracia.
"Yes, what is it?"
"So there are five kingdoms, and each kingdom has a Hero and a Demon king?"
"Kind of. There are five continents. Each continent is governed by one kingdom, has a god watching over it, a demon king attacking it, and a hero protecting it." She explained.
"I see. So there are only five continents?" He asked
She shook her head. "No, there are six. However, the 6th one has been taken over by the demon king of that continent, and the god who governed there is in stasis."
"Stasis?" Kai asked.
"When a demon king takes over a continent, they have to face off against the god who is over that land. If the god loses, they are in stasis until they regain their power to fight back."
"Ahh, so the same thing that happens when a demon king is defeated." Kai understood.
"Correct."
"How come a demon king doesn't invade another continent?" Kai asked
"Each continent has the demon and the god's power. It's their shared domain. To leave it will be to lose their power. Now, this doesn't mean they'll be powerless, it's just that demon kings don't like to share, neither do gods, so if they try to invade another continent, it will be a two versus one, the demon and god versus the invader demon, or god if the god does the invading."
"Ahh, I get it. Thanks for letting me know."
'I definitely want to visit all these other lands. It will be really cool to see what this world has to offer. Staying in one kingdom is stale as fuck. Besides, I'll get to fuck a shit ton of foreign baddies. Yessir!
"Okay, that's all. Tell your people that I will become the "hero" after I've had my fun at the academy. And I don't work for you."
"I-I understand." She nodded, showing respect.
"Why are you acting like that?"
"Y-You're the son of the Progenitor. It would be rude of me to treat you in any other way."
"Yeah, I don't care about that. Just act normal."
"Alright. I'll tell them not to bother you for the time being."
Kai smiled. "Cool. Also, do you wanna have kids?"
---
Celest noticed Kai's eyes fluttering open as his mind had returned to his body. She perked up, excited to know what transpired in their goddess's divine realm. She and the others could feel Gracia's divine power in his body, so they knew he was blessed by her.
"Heh, don't worry, I'll be getting you pregnant one day," Kai smirked as he opened his eyes to see that he was back in his body.
"S-So, can you tell us what happened?" Celest asked with curious eyes. Horith was also curious to know what happened. Gracia had come to him, not the other way around, so he wanted to know what her divine realm was like.
"Huh? Oh. Well, I'm blessed, as you can see. However, I wont be your hero formally until after I've fucked...ahem, until after I graduate from the hero academy. She said she'll contact you all." Kai stood up to leave.
'Wait, this is my house.' He turned back around. "You all can leave now."
"M-May we ask you some more questions?" The paladin asked.
"Am I allowed to decline?" Kai asked back.
"I-I guess so?"
"Sweet. Then, no. Get out."
Not wanting to press him anymore, they all left Kai's house. While they were glad that he was now a hero, kind of, they expected the interaction to go a different way and left without feeling satisfied.
"Are they gone?" Amaya jumped on Kai's back from the second floor, sniffing around to see if the church members were still in the house.
"Nah, they left. Just now. Where are the others?"
"In your room, talking. I got bored and wanted to hang out with you." She rubbed on his face and started to purr.
"We still didn't get our reward from the adventurer's guild. Wanna come with me?"
"Heck yeah!"
Kai and Amaya left for the guild, passing people who were reuniting with their families or mourning the losses. Honestly, it was a pretty sad and heartwarming sight. Kai could have easily prevented a ton of deaths. He was strong enough. But he didn't.
The truth was, he didn't care to. He has no connection to this world and only sees it as a place to have fun. Sure, he'll take care of his women and children, but that's all it extends to. If he were back on Earth, he most likely would have become a superhero. But here, in this foreign world, he just didn't care. He felt nothing.
After getting their reward, Kai and Amaya returned home.
Over the next two weeks, Kai and his Party continued to go on quests, train, and he kept pumping points into their stats.
Once those two weeks were up, every member of their party was now classified as a superpower. This meant that not only were they a Tier-8 mage or warrior, but they could be considered S-Rank adventurers.
The moment this happened, Kai rushed them all to the guild to get their power reassessed and have all of them take the promotion test. But luckily for them, their contribution during the necromancer attack earned them their S-Rank promotion without needing to take the test.
Kai, full of joy, stared at his license. Ten metal orbs that proved he had slain all primal beasts. And now, it had every rank letter on it with a massive S.
"YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!"
