Chapter 37: Six Maps
Bird, Plagiarize, Snorter, and Klumpkrump were finally being led to the mysterious “M-M” after many hours of waiting. They were led down the pathways on the hollow interior of Kearth, down some stairs, and into one of the many rooms held up by supports. Inside it was the Mouse Maker.
As soon as the robots (also known as mouse-mechs) closed the door behind them, Qaeron jumped out from behind some boxes and tackled them. Qaeron managed to claw two of them bad enough to make them stop working, and the third one’s head he ripped open and took the mouse inside of it to the outside of it.
“Mmmm, hello, yez,” said Qaeron.
“WHO DO YOU WORK FOR, MOUSE??” yelled Klumpkrump.
“Here!” said Mushpuff, giving the mouse a pen and some paper. “I conveniently happened to find this paper and pen on this table right here.”
“Why would you think the mouse would be able to write??” asked Klumpkrump.
“Because it could control that robot. And also, according to our calculations, it used to not be a mouse.”
Everyone watched the mouse with great interest as it picked up the pen and wrote on the paper. The mouse’s message was as follows: If you don’t kill me then I will help you out.
“Sounds like a deal,” said Mushpuff, shaking the mouse’s hand.
“We need to steal some things from this planet,” said Snorter.
What? asked the mouse.
“The artifacts you guys stole from Smack-Smork a while ago,” explained Snorter. “You still got em?”
Long time ago, wrote the mouse. Then a big war happened and the artifacts are scattered all over the place now. We have made some estimates as to where they went. Come with me.
Before the mouse could climb back into its mech suit, the gang made sure to remove all its weapons. Klumpkrump got to hold its massive gun, and Bird got to hold 3 daggers that it had.
The mouse then climbed back into its mouse-mech and the gang followed it out of the door of the Mouse Maker Room. Since they were being led by a mouse-mech, they did not attract any suspicion.
After being led some ways away in a certain way, the gang ended up in yet another room. This room was on the outer edge of Kearth, and had a large window with a beautiful view of the stars. There were telescopes and some odd devices that nobody in the gang had ever seen before. There were also some maps.
“We stole about thirty artifacts from Smack-Smork,” said the mouse in the mech, speaking through the robot voice transmitter. “But we could only estimate the location of six of them once they were scattered.”
The mouse gave Bird 6 maps. Each one showed the location of a planet where one of the artifacts was.
“Great, thanks, mouse!” said Bird. “Now let’s get out of here.”
“One problem,” said the mouse.
“What?”
“Your spaceship has been… scrapped.”
