Chapter 3: Adam Marcellus, the Blood Magician [1]

Adam Marcellus had always been called a prodigy. He was capable of Mana Breathing at the age of five, while other noble children could only do so at eight. Not only that, but he also had intense control over Blood, which is considered one of the most difficult manipulation magic directions out there. Hailing from the dukedom of Uskington in the Rolenem Empire as the first son of the duke, he was already set up for a great life. But after getting an intensive magic education at Everdusk Academy, Adam was considered one of the strongest humans alive. So, after several years of working as a magician, Adam was unanimously chosen by the seven states to become the principal of Everdusk due to his impartiality and gentle demeanor. But even while being principal, he never stopped fighting Daemons and beasts whenever he could. He especially did so in his home of Uskington, where his brother now ruled over the population of two million.

One day, on March 7, 847 a.G.E (after the God Era), he heard of a severe Daemon attack on a small western village in Uskington. He immediately rushed out from his mansion in Uskington, where he spent his holidays to avenge the fallen population. He jumped in his car, not even waiting for his driver. After five minutes of driving (which was heavily accelerated by Adam infusing Mana into his car engine), Adam arrived at the devastated village. Adam immediately conjured Blood Spears, ready to take down every Daemon in his vicinity, but to his surprise, none came rushing at him. So Adam started taking a more precise look around. The village was burning, with some buildings already having been reduced to ashes. Many bodies were lying around. Most of them with severe burn marks and slash wounds. Adam also saw giant footsteps on the asphalt, which led him to believe that a giant attacked this village. Adam continued to walk on the road, with rain slowly falling on him. It was eerily quiet, as the only sounds were the crackling of the fire and the rain falling. Adam was able to feel some Mana left from the Valor abilities used by the giant. Suddenly, he heard a blood-piercing roar from two streets away. Picking up his pace, Adam began to run.

Rados' eyes opened suddenly after feeling a mana disturbance near him. He looked at his surroundings. He was in a collapsed house, with scorching heat closing in. He instantly knew that something was wrong. He stood up, instantly feeling weird. He looked down at his body and realized something: he was extremely weak. He felt incredibly heavy, although his body was extremely frail, and he sensed almost no mana in his body. He, however, felt that he could replenish his entire mana capacity in much less than a second. Wanting to know more, Rados conjured his Statu,s which every being in the universe had access to.

Rados was right. He was horribly weak.

"Flawed? Are you kidding me? It's the weakest rank of the nine."

But Rados wasn't really concerned, he had, after all, enough time to grow strong. Rather, Rados was very interested in the Anomalous-Ranking of Soul-Transferred. This was a rank he had never seen. He then realized he went against the absolute laws of the universe by transferring his soul, but somehow it had worked. Rados was very confused by this.

"How did I do that? Did I just use so much Mana that even the universe gave way? Not that it matters. I firstly need to find out where I am and why the hell there are bodies next to me."

That's right, Rados was currently standing next to three bodies.

Rados walked around the destroyed house and found a mirror. He decided to quickly look at how his new body looked. It was nothing special, rather average even. He was pretty small and thin, with no visible muscles. He also had some cuts in his face, which he wasn't able to feel before. His skin was very pale, his hair was completely white, and his eyes were green.

"At least my eye color is the same as before. Maybe it's connected to the soul?" he wondered, but he knew he wasn't going to find an answer.

After walking around a bit more, he finally found a door, which he opened without hesitation. His eyes instantly opened wide. He saw a devastated village full of fire and blood. It smelled like iron and ash. It was raining, but otherwise completely quiet. Suddenly, Rados heard loud footsteps coming towards him. His head snapped to his left, and he saw a huge, humanoid monster making eye contact with him. It instantly let out a loud roar and started to walk toward Rados while readying its club. Rados started to use magic while his mind was racing.

'What is that? That never existed when I was observing the human realm during my meditations. Don't tell me. Did those damn Gods create new monsters?'. His eyes widened when he realized how little magic he could use: He was only able to create one little rock to throw at the monster, and it, of course, did no damage to the three-meter-tall monster. Even this little spell cost Rados' entire magic capacity. But he didn't fail to notice that it was instantly refilled. So he decided to shoot a barrage of rocks at the giant, which didn't even flinch but was at least a little slowed down.

Suddenly, Rados felt a great source of Mana nearing behind him, and almost at the same time, he heard a scream:

"DUCK!"

Instantly, Rados threw himself to the ground with a huge blood lance flying over his head, missing his head just by a few centimeters. He looked at the giant, which tried to parry the blood lance with his club, but it cut through the club like butter and pierced his heart. Rados stood up and turned around. In front of him stood a man with crimson eyes and red hair.

So, that's the first real chapter of the story; I hope you liked it. I also, fortunately, managed to write something longer this time, and I feel like it's my best work yet. Also, don't worry, many things will be explained in a few chapters when Rados goes to Everdusk. Oops, I just spoiled the plot. Although I'm sure, you could already guess that. Anyway, I'm gonna play some Video Games now. Have a great day!
