The First Cultivator - Changing Existence

Chapter 897: Revolt - 897

The first monster watched as the man walked away. The Sea beast leading him merely took a glance before continuing. But when he sensed that the first monster hadn't moved, he turned around in confusion. "Are you coming?"

"I think I'm going to join the Beast alliance." The first monster said.

The Sea beast was confused, and his eyes darkened, but he merely snorted and left. There was naturally an unspoken rule of freedom for those being recruited by multiple alliances. Unless they chose to join none of them, there was nothing that could be done.

The first monster made his way back to the Beast alliance's room. When he opened the door, the lord inside was surprised. "You're back?"

"I changed my mind. I want to join the Beast alliance."

In the corner of the room, a guard stood. His face revealed a slight smile before it instantly disappeared.

The Beast alliance lord paused for a moment before smiling. "Then I welcome you with open arms. You will not regret your decision. Come, sit."

The first monster sat down near the Beast alliance lord and they began to talk.

The first monster learned that there were 108 lords of the Beast alliance at all times. In addition, there was a supreme lord who was above them all.

This lord was considered a lower level lord. The difference between lords could be unimaginably immense.

They talked until the event ended, the first monster giving the lord a bunch of pre thought out information that was naturally not true.

The first beast naturally succeeded, and he even stood out. When the Beast alliance lord invited him to visit, the first beast saw the first monster and made the decision to join the Beast alliance.

The Beast alliance lord was thrilled. He had recruited two exceptional talents from the event. He would be rewarded if either of them ever became a lord. Perhaps he would even gain an ally in the future.

With the event over, the lord of the Beast alliance took his entourage and left through a teleportation array. They arrived in an endless mountain range. If one counted them all, they would count 108. In addition, there was a giant mountain in the center of it all.

"Welcome to the Beast alliance. This is the alliance with the most members on the Sovereign Tree. Being recruited, you are already above normal members. You can come to my mountain and I'll have you identified in just a moment. From then, head to the central mountain and look for the Hall of Beasts."

The first monster and the first beast headed towards one of the 108 mountains and got registered with the Beast alliance. The Beast lord gave them directions and showed them out.

They headed to the central mountain while speaking quietly.

"Why did you join the Beast alliance?" The first beast asked.

"It appears there is a resistance based here."

Just as soon as the first monster said that, bone appeared and wrapped around them, dragging them down in an instant. It happened so fast that nobody around could have registered. When they were able to see, they were in a large stone hall. In the distance was a giant mass of bones in a semi humanoid form.

In front of it was a beast in complete humanoid form. The only way one could tell it was a beast was the aura it gave off.

"Welcome. You are beings who want to defy the sovereigns. Millions have tried, millions have failed, and millions more will try. One day, someone will succeed." The man said with aged and dark eyes.

"Do you know why the Sovereigns hate humans so much?" The old man asked.

The two shook their heads.

"In the vast Universe, humans reign supreme. The Sovereigns all grew up having humanity over their head. This is the fate of beasts in this Universe. While overcoming this deficit and becoming a supreme force is not a bad thing, suppressing countless beings is. The Sovereigns are as their title indicates, sovereigns lording over countless beings. Everyone in the Sovereign Tree, whether a member of a Sovereign clan, a citizen, or even lower, are all slaves to the Sovereigns and can never escape their control. The mark of Karma ensures as much." The old man said as he gestured towards a mark on his arm.

The mark was also present on the bodies of the first monster and the first beast.

"The revolution is not about surpassing the Sovereigns. That much is impossible. It is about escaping and entering a freer Universe, one where the Sovereign's could hardly hold their head high."

"Why can't we surpass the Sovereigns?" The first beast asked.

"There are two reasons. First, the mark of Karma is almost impossible to expel for anyone weaker than the Sovereign of Karma. And if it senses a powerful and talented force marked by its Karma, it can simply obliterate you on the spot. The second reason is the talent of the Sovereigns. Each one is an unparalleled talent almost impossible to find throughout the Universe. This is not my opinion, but the opinions of the most ancient beings alive. Besides, if you want to defeat the Sovereigns, it would be nearly impossible without leaving the Sovereign Tree. There are simply not enough resources here."

The old man explained.

"And you are the leader of this resistance?" The first monster asked.

"I used to be before I was injured. I had led one of the greatest revolts in history, but it failed. Ever since then, there has been a new leader."

"A major revolt? So a Sovereign interfered?" The first beast asked curiously.

"No. If that was the case, I would no longer exist. It was the daughter of the Karma Sovereign and some other ancient existences that suppressed us. It wasn't much of a battle. That was probably one of the strongest revolts in history as well. And a single Sovereign could crush every being in the Sovereign Tree. Do you understand the difference now?"

The first beast and first monster were silent. Their situation was far more dire than it had seemed.
