Chapter 1015: Setting The Final Stage
"I can smell him from here." Gamond smiled, "And that fairy seems to have taken a seat at his side, she's smarter than I thought."
Four creatures were present before Gamond's throne, she had gotten them for the sole reason of getting rid of Arad's companions. She wanted to face Arad alone, no one else was allowed to interrupt their precious time.
One of the four, a fair halfling angel with four white wings looked at Gamond with her eyes closed, "That fairy is the water spirit queen." She was Lin, one of Yog's angels and the one Gamond got to face Echidna.
"I know that. I just thought she'd get bored once Arad lost to her. Seeing him lose dropped my hopes a bit, but I know that his true power is far larger than what he has in this world. You make sure to put that witch Echidna in her place."
Lin bowed, "You can count on me. My divine goddess Yog has entrusted me with helping you and I intend to deliver a performance worthy of her name."
"Huh!" A naked demon woman with a lower torso of guts, bones, and writhing flesh laughed at her, "What? You'll kill her with jokes? Play a funny prank on her? Don't make me laugh, take this seriously and fight as if your life depends on it." The one speaking was the demon Balio, a flesh demon that Gamond summoned to put a stop to Mesharra.
"Balio, you're the only one whose life depends on winning this." The robotic voice of this mechanical maid echoed through the whole throne room. "Don't mess this up." Yog employs hordes of mechanical maids and servants all through her divine domain since they won't spill the secrets of her magic, and also since she could use them as scouts through the whole multiverse.
Balio growled, "Tin scarp, mind your own business."
The maid looked at her with an emotionless face, "Sorry, I'll try minding my own business. It's just that this demonic shit is crawling all around with her spilled intestines and painting the whole place red with blood. Should I clean her up?" Ten massive cannons emerged out of the maid's back and pointed toward Balio, "I'll start cleaning right now." The maid's name was 480085, and she very much hated that name. Her job was to make sure Plum got nowhere near the battlefield, and she was permitted to use as much firepower as she wanted.
Two tentacles came and wrapped around the two, holding them in place. A naked succubus with two massive horns, long pink hair, bat-like wings, and eight tentacles for a tail walked between them with an annoyed face.
"Don't even dare mess this up." Her eyes shifted toward Gamond, "Isn't that true, Gamond."
"Lira is right." Gamond sighed. Lira is a succubus witch that used to live in the succubus kingdom ruled by the mother of all life Gracie. "You four need to make sure Arad's friends never get in my way."
"Don't worry." Lira smiled, licking her lips, "At least for me, eating that woman Mary won't be too hard. I'll make sure she won't be able to think again."
480085 looked at Gamond, "What about that woman Altair?"
"Yeah," Lira added, "We can't leave that wild card on the table."
"Got a banishment spell ready. She won't be a problem." Gamond stood and walked away from her throne. "They are here, everyone head to your rooms."
The four disappeared and Gamond remained alone. With a single flick of her finger, the throne room shifted into a massive empty arena with a single kingsized bed in the middle.
The door of the arena opened up and Arad walked in wearing a suit of black armor, a long red cloak, and a massive greatsword strapped to his hip it's nothing more than a longsword.
He looked around, inspecting the place. "We got separated?"
"Indeed, I don't want them souring the mood here." Gamond called him as she sat on the bed. "Care for a little chat first?"
"No." Arad pulled his sword out, "Where did you send them?"
"I'll answer if you pull your other sword." The smug smile on her flashed as she licked her opal teeth like a big cat ready for her meal.
Arad looked at her silently for a second, assessing the situation. "Fine." He sheathed his sword and pulled another sword from his magic pocket. "Now speak."
"I didn't mean that sword…"
"I know…but this also fulfills your condition, speak." He glared at her and she sighed. Dragons should never get back on their words, he outplayed her, and she had to reply otherwise she'd look like nothing more than a lying prideless drakaina who's so weak that she can't even keep her word.
"I had each of them sent to another demi-plane where one of my minions will keep them busy. All I can promise is that they won't die." She waved her hand and conjured a large ice table and chairs. "Now, can we have a little chat?"
"Fine." Arad approached the table and stood to sit with him.
"First, Undine, you can come out, I know you're hiding inside his bloodstream." With a smile on her face, she looked at him and Undine crawled out of his mouth, "Why didn't you send me to another demi-plane? You could've done that, right?"
"The moment you made yourself his slave I started counting you like an object that he owns. Him breaking the contract doesn't matter." She giggled.
"You knew?!" Undine gasped, was Gamond spying on them? She wasn't doing that when Undine was here.
"You made the contract in public so I saw it from afar, and you didn't have the contract when you arrived here so I just assumed. So I was right." Her gaze shifted to Arad, "And I guess you know why I am here, Arad Orion."
"I'm not looking for a mate, and you know I'm already married. You'll have to go through them first." He glared at her, "Get in my way or try to harm my wives, I'll burn you to ash."
"And that's why I'm here." She smiled, "When you get as strong as me, everything becomes so boring. I wasted my youth seeking power and ended up without a mate until I became a great wyrm."
"Neither your world nor death managed to take your life away." Arad looked at her, she had grown far too strong.
"Arad…do you know how everyone looks when you get as strong as me? They don't even have a look, they are invisible, fading from memory as soon as they die."
The curse of power, Doma had once spoken of it. Even he a dragon with near-perfect memory can't remember the faces of all those he killed, he didn't even look at some of them, to begin with. With dragons valuing strength and violence above else in their relationships it becomes extremely hard to find company the stronger a dragon gets.
Gamond had mentioned she has a daughter called Kory, her previous husband must've lost to her quite badly, but considering how powerful Gamond is he must've been one of the strongest dragons out there.
"I see. You aren't looking for a mate, you're just looking to have fun." Arad smiled, "That I can try to give you."
She lifted an eyebrow, "What are you talking about? Of course, I'm looking for a worthy mate, one that won't bore me." She smiled, "Would you lose so badly that I won't even remember your face? Would you lose but prove a decent challenge? If that's the case I'll mate and eat you right after like my previous husband and soon forget your face like his. Or would you be able to prove a challenge, give me a lot of trouble? That would be a dream come true."
"How about the other option? Me giving you a beating so you won't give me or anyone else more trouble."
The two stared at each other for a second, grinning.
"So? What do you say? Should we use the bed before the fight?"
Arad stood and approached the bed, it was a nice and expensive one made of enchanted oak wood and silk. With a single kick, he sent it flying to the ceiling where it shattered into a million pieces.
"We won't be needing that."
"I expected as much." The two stood facing each other.
[Elemental expansion]
Endless white hallways illuminated with candles, wooden floors, rancid air, and the deafening rumble shaking from beneath the ground.
Arad found himself standing alone in those desolate hallways, he could still sense Gamond's magic but he couldn't tell from which direction it came.
Gamond herself woke up standing on the ceiling, looking at an upside-down world akin to the hallways Arad was in, but instead of the wooden floor, it was a flowing stream of deadly magic. One step in it and even she would die instantly.
She could sense Arad's presence, but it felt off, something tainted the air and she wasn't thinking about the rancid smell.
[Welcome to my favorite elemental expansion. I call it the endless dimension maze. You'll fight here, and start by finding each other first. Good luck, you'll need it.]
Gamond growled, "You little nasty shit! Separated us through dimensions? Fine, I'll go to him." She could sense Arad's magic in the air, given enough time she should be able to reach him.
Gamond sat down and started conjuring her spell, focusing on sense and calculating all the dimensions layered in this elemental expansion. Finding which one has Arad, and then finding his exact location.
"What are you doing?" Arad asked as he stood beside her.
"Trying to locate you. Just let me focus."
"I found you first."
"If you actually managed that then I'll gladly suc…" She opened her eyes, seeing Arad towering over her.
