Chapter 332: Chapter 330: Moon Banquet Festival (3)
At that moment, Sui was busy opening his daily gift packs, of which he had accumulated five.
"Host opens the daily gift pack, cooking level increased by 1."
"Host opens the daily gift pack, cooking level increased by 2."
"Host opens the daily gift pack and receives a cheese rabbit."
"Host opens the daily gift pack and obtains the dried goods monster: Dream Catfish."
"Host opens the daily gift pack, cooking level increased by 1."
With that, his cooking skill level reached seventy-four, a significant improvement over before.
What delighted Sui even more was obtaining the dried Dream Catfish, a rare and pricey ingredient worth five million yen each.
Just then, a text message from Rindō came through:
"Hey kohai, come shopping with me."
Sui sighed, finding the timing a bit odd. However, his restaurant was by appointment only and didn't open until the evening, leaving him with nothing to do for the rest of the day.
"Well, might as well make the most of a beautiful day," he thought as he accepted the invitation.
Rindō cheerfully linked arms with him, and they wandered around Totsuki Academy like a couple. Even though it was still early morning, the campus was bustling with activity. Both sides of the avenue were lined with food stalls, and many citizens from the surrounding areas had come to enjoy the Moon Banquet Festival, tasting various culinary creations.
The Moon Banquet Festival wasn't just a major event for Totsuki, it was also a food extravaganza for the local community and attracted attention even from the culinary world. Of course, the primary focus was on the high-end restaurants in the Mountain Area, run by Totsuki's elite students. The Central Area received some attention, but the Avenue Area was largely ignored by serious gourmands.
Rindō seemed thoroughly intrigued by everything around her. After a short while, she dragged Sui to the stall run by the Skewer Research Society.
"Ten lamb skewers and two squid skewers, please!" she called out as she plopped down at one of the tables.
"Coming right up!" the members of the Skewer Research Society responded enthusiastically and got to work.
"Rindō-senpai, is it really okay to eat something so greasy this early in the morning?" Sui couldn't help but ask.
"Why not? I eat what I like!" Rindō grinned, her sharp canines flashing, and promptly bit into a squid skewer. "Mmm, delicious!"
She handed Sui a large lamb skewer. He sighed but had no choice but to start eating as well.
After their meal, Rindō patted her stomach and cheerfully called out, "Kohai, time to pay up!"
Sui could only shake his head as he stood up to settle the bill. Luckily, the festival used Totsuki's gourmet coupons, so he didn't have to spend too much real money.
Afterward, Rindō led him to another food stall, and the two continued their culinary adventure. Rindō's appetite seemed bottomless, while Sui found himself struggling to keep up. As they ate their way through the festival, Sui couldn't help but marvel at how Rindō maintained her slender figure despite consuming so much food. Perhaps it was her "special physique."
By the time afternoon rolled around, they had been eating and strolling for hours. Rindō clung to Sui's arm with one hand while holding a snack in the other, munching away happily.
"Hey, this donut is pretty good. You should try it too," she said, offering a half-eaten donut to Sui.
Sui stared at the small bite marks on the donut, feeling a bit helpless, but he reluctantly took a bite, not wanting to be rude.
At this point, he couldn't eat anymore and glanced sideways at Rindō, puzzled by how she could still be so full of energy.
Just then, a loud voice interrupted them.
"Sui! Are you on a date with Rindō-senpai? Are you two really dating?!"
The shout came from Yoshino, who was standing outside Isshiki's stall along with Ryoko and the other Polar Star Dorm members. They looked surprised to see Sui and Rindō walking hand-in-hand.
To be fair, Sui and Rindō did look like a couple. She was clinging to his arm, resting her head against his shoulder, and even feeding him snacks as they strolled through the festival.
Sui rubbed his temples, feeling a headache coming on, but Rindō seemed completely unfazed. "Yeah, what's the problem?" she replied with a mischievous grin.
"Sui, what about Erina-chi?" Yoshino teased, patting Sui on the shoulder while shaking her head in mock disappointment.
Sui gave her a sideways glance but chose not to respond.
Ryoko and the others, while surprised by how close Sui and Rindō seemed, knew that Rindō had always been carefree and bold. Still, it was unusual to see them acting so intimate.
"Since you're already here, why not try some of our food before you go?" Isshiki suggested with a smile.
"Sure!" Rindō's eyes lit up in excitement, and the two of them sat down for another round of food.
After eating at the Polar Star Dorm's stall, they continued wandering through the festival. Before long, the sun began to set, casting long shadows on the ground as the festival crowd grew larger.
As they walked side by side, bathed in the golden light of the sunset, Rindō stretched contentedly. "I had such a great time eating today!"
Sui was less enthusiastic, feeling overly full. He glanced at Rindō and noticed a bit of food on her lips. Without thinking, he reached out to wipe it off.
Rindō blinked in surprise, a rare blush appearing on her cheeks. Her golden eyes sparkled as she touched her lips where Sui had wiped.
"Why..." she murmured softly, seemingly at a loss for words.
For a moment, she was uncharacteristically silent, and Sui found it strange. Rindō had always been so cool and carefree—this was the first time he had seen her look... shy?
"Hey, kohai, I'm talking to you," she suddenly said.
"Huh? What is it, Rindō-senpai?" Sui asked, confused.
"Do you accept senpai and kohai relationships?" she asked, her tone casual but her expression serious.
Sui blinked. "You mean a relationship between an older woman and a younger man? I don't think that's a big deal. As long as both people get along well, it doesn't matter."
"Really?" Rindō's golden eyes sparkled even brighter, and she looked at him with an intense gaze.
"Yes," Sui nodded, then paused. "Wait... Rindō-senpai, you're not saying you like me, are you?"
Rindō's face turned crimson, but she quickly recovered, raising her chin proudly. "Hah! Don't flatter yourself, kohai You're thinking too much!" she teased, flicking him lightly on the forehead.
