Rindō gazed into the distance, her figure slender in the Totsuki Academy uniform, her long, blood-red hair fluttering in the breeze. She spoke coolly, "My ambition is to conquer every alpine lake in the world and discover all the delicacies they hold. How could any mere man conquer me?"
She turned her head, her golden eyes locking onto Sui. Gently poking his forehead with a slender finger, she continued, "Sui, if you think you can conquer me, your senpai, you're delusional. I'll never stop pursuing the world's treasures for something as simple as a man."
Sui squinted at her, muttering, "I certainly hope so."
"Oh, so you're looking down on me, huh?" Rindō bared her sharp little canines in response and, without warning, trapped Sui's head under her arm in a playful headlock.
Sui suddenly found his face pressed against something soft and squishy, making it hard to breathe. Instinctively, he reached out with his hand and grabbed something... warm and firm. Startled by how good it felt, he gave it a gentle squeeze.
Just then, he was abruptly released.
Looking up, Sui saw Rindō's face turning a deep shade of red, a mixture of embarrassment and anger flickering in her golden eyes. Only then did it hit him—he was holding onto a rather sensitive part of her body.
"Sorry!" Sui quickly let go and tried to laugh it off. "But, senpai, I never expected you to be so... um, 'gifted'."
Blushing furiously, Rindō twisted his ear with a tight grip, gritting her teeth as she growled, "You little brat, how dare you take advantage of your senpai like that!"
"Well, it's not like you weren't the one being overly forward, senpai," Sui replied helplessly.
"Heh!" Rindō snorted before letting him go, though a faint blush still lingered on her face.
Sui checked the time. It was getting late, almost time to open his restaurant for the evening. "senpai, if there's nothing else, I should get going."
"Are you opening the restaurant?" Rindō's eyes lit up as she grabbed his hand. "I want in! I'm hungry!"
Sui glanced at her flat, slender belly and was once again amazed. She clearly had a slim figure, yet she could devour endless amounts of food. Even though he himself was full, Rindō, who had eaten more than he had, seemed ready for more. Was this some kind of unique talent?
"Hey, why are you making that face?" Rindō puffed up her cheeks, pinching Sui's face playfully.
Sui winced, her warm hands pulling at his cheeks. "Alright, alright, I get it! Here's your admission ticket," he said, handing her one of the special vouchers.
His restaurant operated on a reservation-only basis, serving just fifty guests a night, each paying with a gourmet voucher worth 100,000 yen. Most of the vouchers had sold out earlier in the day, but Sui had kept a few aside for close friends.
"Perfect!" Rindō grinned as she took the ticket. "What time's dinner?"
"Six in the evening," Sui replied, a little exasperated.
"Got it. I'll be there on time!" Rindō patted his shoulder with a smile.
Sui rolled his eyes and turned to leave. "If that's all, I'll be on my way now."
"Wait a second, Sui!" Rindō suddenly called his name out.
Sui turned back, a bit confused. "Anything else, senpai?"
Before he could react, Rindō threw herself into his arms, pressing her soft lips against his. Sui's mind went blank, his arms instinctively wrapping around her slender waist. The kiss was soft, warm, and fragrant, and it left him completely stunned.
After what felt like an eternity, they finally separated.
"Rindō-senpai, what are you doing?" Sui asked, bewildered.
"Consider it a thank-you for keeping me company all day," Rindō said casually, though her cheeks were still flushed. There was a hint of shyness in her golden eyes, but she quickly masked it with her usual carefree attitude. She licked the corner of her lips, as if savoring the taste from their kiss.
Sui was speechless, replaying the scene in his mind. Despite the awkwardness, Rindō's kiss had been surprisingly tender—her tongue was smooth, flexible, like a playful little snake.
"Now, it doesn't count as an indirect kiss," Rindō teased, her voice filled with triumph.
Sui stared at her, feeling a headache coming on. Just moments ago, she had said she didn't like him, but here she was, teasing him in such a bold way.
Noticing his expression, Rindō blushed even more and quickly pinched his cheeks. "Don't get the wrong idea. I don't like you! A little guy like you couldn't stop me from conquering the world."
"Right, right. I get it," Sui muttered. "I'll be leaving now."
"Good, I'll see you tonight!" Rindō nodded, giving his shoulder one last powerful pat.
As Sui walked away, Rindō tilted her head, watching him go. For the briefest moment, a rare softness flickered in her golden eyes.
——
Upon arriving at his simulated restaurant, Sui found Erina waiting for him.
Her shop was right next to his, and his assistants—Megumi, Miyoko, and Nao—were already busy inside.
"Where have you been?" Erina demanded as soon as she saw him, her expression sharp. "It's nearly four o'clock. Will you be ready in time for dinner service? If you're short on time, I can help."
"Sorry, I got caught up in something," Sui replied, feeling a bit guilty seeing the worried looks on everyone's faces.
"Caught up in what? I heard you were walking around the festival with Rindō-senpai," Erina said, her tone laced with jealousy.
The sight of Sui and Rindō strolling around together all day had certainly caught the attention of many students.
Sui coughed awkwardly, recalling the day's events. "Rindō-senpai dragged me along, really."
Erina eyed him suspiciously for a moment but let it go, knowing how carefree and bold Rindō could be.
