Superman's Saiyan little brother

Chapter 606: Chapter 605: Kidnapped Right Under Our Noses

Hearing the commotion outside and feeling the house tremble, Angela's expression grew tense. Though she was a detective and had faced dangerous situations before, they usually involved firearms. The current situation, however, felt more like heavy artillery was at play, making her doubt if the weapons in her hands could handle the crisis.

Constantine quickly opened a window, knowing that the house itself wouldn't hold off the attacking demons, but his magical wards would. Once the window was open, a group of demons noticed and charged towards it, only to be stopped by the wards.

"What are you waiting for? Shoot!" Constantine urged as he began casting spells, noticing that Angela was still frozen in place.

"Oh... right!" Angela, despite her discomfort and fear, raised her gun and slowly squeezed the trigger, aiming at one of the demons.

With a loud bang, a demon nearby was struck in the chest, instantly emitting a large amount of green smoke as it fell to the ground, writhing in pain.

"That's it! Just like that! Remember, aim at the less intimidating ones. If you're too scared to even aim at them, don't shoot," Constantine advised, pleased with Angela's aim. If the shots didn't hit critical points, even specialized ammunition might not be enough to kill the demons.

Bang! Another shot rang out, followed by Angela's confused voice, "What if they don't die? Hmm?! Why isn't this one dead?"

A larger demon, despite being shot, dug out the wounded flesh from its chest, stopping the smoke and then grinned menacingly at Angela, who was startled.

"If every bullet could kill, I wouldn't bother making them into bullets. I'd just use a spell to wipe them all out. Keep shooting the weaker demons; I'll handle the rest!" Constantine dismissed Angela's concerns, continuing to cast spells that ravaged the demon horde.

Given the situation, Constantine couldn't afford to hold back and let the demons live, as he had planned to sacrifice them later. The stakes were too high, especially since the mysterious figure had broken the chains Constantine had used to control them.

If the chains hadn't been broken, Constantine would have quickly dealt with these demons. Now, he was forced to expend more effort and resources.

"Should I step in?" the Hell Baron muttered, feeling awkward as he watched Constantine and Angela fight. He had been sitting out, partly because of a recent spat with Constantine. If Constantine had been more conciliatory, the Hell Baron might have stepped in, but now he felt it would be undignified.

As the demons outside dwindled, their blood stained the ground, and the surviving demons grew stronger, forcing Constantine to exert even more effort.

Angela, meanwhile, had run out of bullets. She looked at Constantine, unsure if she should interrupt him, but he waved her off, "Go rest inside. Without bullets, you're not much help anyway. It looks like we won't be able to kill all these demons. There are more than I anticipated and they're tougher to kill."

After taking down a few more demons, Constantine planned to trigger his wards to repel the demons and obscure their senses before relocating.

"Okay, I'll follow your lead," Angela nodded, grateful and exhausted. She quickly went back to the living room, drinking water to replenish her strength after the intense shooting.

Sitting on the sofa, Angela glanced at the Hell Baron, feeling a bit of disdain despite him saving her earlier. His lack of action during the current crisis was disappointing, especially compared to Constantine, who was fighting on the front lines.

The Hell Baron, noticing Angela's gaze, felt more uneasy. He knew he hadn't technically done anything wrong, but the situation still felt awkward. He had initially planned to leave, thinking his work was done after handing Angela over to Constantine, but now he felt compelled to stay and see things through.

Crack! The sudden sound of breaking caught the Hell Baron's attention, followed by Constantine's shout of alarm. The Hell Baron sensed a demonic presence inside the house. He turned to see a demon holding Angela, who looked confused and then smiled at him.

"Let her go!" The Hell Baron lunged, but his hand was met with force, pushing him back. The demon, however, was sent flying with Angela, disappearing from sight.

"Damn it! How did you let her get taken?!" Constantine yelled at the Hell Baron as he struggled to fend off more demons pouring in through a breach in the wards. Despite using a last resort to repel the demons, Angela and her captor were already gone.

"Why are you yelling at me? I didn't know your wards would fail! Besides, this wasn't my responsibility. You were supposed to handle her safety!" The Hell Baron shot back, glaring at Constantine.

Crack! Boom! As they argued, more demons surged in, undeterred by Angela's capture, attacking the duo as if to ensure they couldn't pursue.

"Die, you pests!" "You want to pick a fight?" The demons quickly became the outlet for the Hell Baron and Constantine's frustrations, who decimated them. Constantine even detonated the remaining wards, obliterating the demons outside.

Finally, after an indeterminate time, the fighting ceased. The Hell Baron, exhausted, panted heavily, while Constantine, though in better shape, looked drained and annoyed, as if he had suffered a great loss.

"If you had fought like this from the start, Angela wouldn't have been taken," Constantine complained, glancing at the Hell Baron.

"And if you hadn't been such an ass, maybe there'd be fewer people who want to punch you," the Hell Baron retorted coldly.

"I'm done talking to you. I'll clean up here and then track Angela. You can do whatever you want," Constantine said dismissively, beginning to deal with the aftermath. The demon corpses had to be properly disposed of to prevent further contamination of the area.

Hearing this, the Hell Baron perked up, "You can track her? Then I'm coming too! I won't let that demon get away."

"Why? You want to help now?" Constantine muttered, skeptical.

"That demon took her right in front of me. I can't let that slide," the Hell Baron insisted.

"Heh," Constantine chuckled but said nothing more, focusing on his cleanup.

Once finished, he gave the Hell Baron a signal, and they both disappeared from the ruined house, reappearing in a different location.

"Where are we?" the Hell Baron asked, looking around.

"Don't worry about it. Let's go; I've found their location," Constantine waved off the question, then turned to a guardian figure, "Contact the Saiyan. Make sure he's ready to step in; we might need him."

"Why not bring him in now?" the Hell Baron questioned.

"Are you serious? If we do, they might get scared off. Haven't you ever fished? You don't scare the fish before they're hooked," Constantine replied, disdainfully.

"You!" The mention of fishing angered the Hell Baron again, but before he could respond, he was sent through a portal, emerging outside a skyscraper.
