Starsea Fleet: Age of the Lord

Chapter 166: Chapter 166: The First Battle After Founding

As the Wind God unleashed its Star Annihilator Cannon, four T4 Scorpions had successfully circled behind the enemy fleet. Mello, well-practiced in surprise tactics with the Scorpions, quickly issued orders without needing much direction.

"Auto-target all enemy T4-class ships. Saturation strike—fire!"

With that command, the four T4 Scorpions unleashed every missile and torpedo in their payloads, igniting the rear of the enemy fleet in a massive explosion. The area was left a scorched field of wreckage.

After taking a moment to appreciate the scene, Mello ordered the now-empty T4 Scorpions to turn back toward home base. With no support ships in tow for resupply, these Scorpions would need to return to Hurricane's main starport for rearmament. Feng Mo gave Mello permission to rest on the return trip, as they had already dealt significant blows: one of the enemy's quasi-T5 flagships was destroyed, and with the rear fleet cut off, the enemy had lost at least 300 ships, mainly T3s.

In the initial phases of battle, the enemy had lost over a hundred more. With a casualty rate of over one-quarter, enemy morale had shattered.

Simultaneously, the 1,100 drones from the Orca soared above the enemy fleet, forming a net of laser fire and unleashing nearly a thousand T5 interstellar missiles upon the battlefield. These T5 missiles could punch through even fully-shielded T4 ships, taking down half of the enemy's remaining forces in one strike.

Two hundred Breaker-class drones locked onto another quasi-T5 flagship, releasing a volley of T5-grade anti-ship missiles. Despite modifications, the flagship's shields disintegrated under the impact, and the ship exploded into fragments, taking several nearby vessels with it.

Watching the fiery destruction, Feng Mo hummed an unfamiliar tune, enjoying the spectacle. He opened a video link to Hua Qin.

"Enemy forces are defeated," he instructed. "Two quasi-T5 flagships remain. Send a surrender offer. The Storm Kingdom is newly founded—we prefer to avoid needless slaughter. Surrender, and they will be spared."

Following Feng Mo's command, Hua Qin transmitted the surrender terms to the entire enemy fleet. Instantly, nearly half the enemy ships surrendered. However, the remaining two quasi-T5 flagships showed no intention of yielding and instead fired beams directly at the Wind God.

"Alert! Wind God's shield under attack. Remaining energy: 93%."

Feng Mo's eyes narrowed in irritation. The high-ranking New Humanity Church members were so blinded by their beliefs that they'd rather die than surrender. Feng Mo resolved to grant their wish, ordering a synchronized volley from the Wind God's main and auxiliary cannons. The enemy's two remaining quasi-T5 flagships crumbled under the assault.

"Uncle Tianyi, bring the high-ranking New Humanity Church members from those two flagships to me. I want to understand what's going on in their heads."

Coldly, Feng Mo gave the command. Meanwhile, the surrendered ships were towed to the Beast Roar System's main planet by the Beast Roar Fleet, and the church members aboard were detained. Any mutants were executed, while human crew members were sent to mine on resource planets, where they'd work for at least a decade.

As for those who refused to surrender, their ships were destroyed, with corpses sent to feed two insatiable beasts back home. Of the 2,000 captured ships, around 1.5 million personnel had been on board, leaving about 700,000 to 800,000 prisoners—enough to keep those "hungry ancestors" well-fed for a while.

"Radar detection: unknown energy signature detected ahead. Scanning complete—T5-class Cosmic Beast located."

The Cosmic Beast—a name Feng Mo had coined after encountering one in the Beast Roar System previously—was now logged in the Storm Kingdom's records, allowing radar systems to recognize it automatically. A T5 Cosmic Beast was truly formidable. The New Humanity Church was truly capable, even developing such a creature. Unlike the interstellar worms, the Cosmic Beasts were human-engineered, not native to the universe.

But when it came to growth potential, interstellar worms outmatched Cosmic Beasts. The Federation still struggled to contain the interstellar worm, while the New Humanity Church had been expelled from the Federation's territories long ago.

"All ships, return to Beast Roar's main planet. Orca, Hurricane, and Mammoth, stay behind. Wind God and Hurricane, charge Cluster Star Annihilator Cannons. Orca and Mammoth, deploy all drones."

Recalling his previous encounter, Feng Mo was wary of the beast's devastating power, comparable to the main cannon of a quasi-T5 ship. This time, he faced an even stronger T5 Cosmic Beast, so he ordered the fleet to return to avoid unnecessary losses.

A video feed from the radar displayed a massive serpent-like creature sliding through space. Nearly 500 meters long and wingless, it appeared to glide gracefully through the cosmos.

"Commander, the Cosmic Beast has entered our firing range. Awaiting orders!"

"Let's test it. Hurricane, fire the quasi-T5 Cluster Star Annihilator."

The Hurricane's bow glowed as an orange beam condensed and shot straight toward the beast.

Sensing danger, the serpent abruptly halted, raising its head as blue light flickered across its dark gray scales. From its mouth, it unleashed a loose blue energy beam, clashing with the Hurricane's attack.

Though the Cosmic Beast's beam lacked the dense compression of the Star Annihilator, it managed to disrupt it, causing both beams to dissipate before reaching the creature.

Feng Mo observed with interest, realizing that while the beast's strength approached that of a standard T5 ship, it was still inferior to the T5 Cluster Star Annihilator.

"Wind God, fire the T5 Cluster Star Annihilator Cannon!"

The Wind God's brown beam shot toward the Cosmic Beast. Recognizing the impending threat, the creature coiled defensively, its body glowing with a brilliant blue radiance. From its mouth, a blue beam intertwined with electric arcs erupted, colliding with the brown beam.

The clash didn't produce an explosion; instead, the beams neutralized each other.

Feng Mo's eyes sparkled with intrigue. This creature possessed potential, capable of unleashing an attack on par with a T5 Cluster Star Annihilator. Though this was only the cannon's second-tier power, a stronger third-tier remained available, albeit at a heavy energy cost for a single use.
