Starsea Fleet: Age of the Lord

Chapter 165: Chapter 165: Surprise Attack

Feng Mo, accompanied by Ai Er and Han Peipei, arrived at the Hurricane Starport in a starcraft. For this mission to the Beast Roar System, the Storm Fleet needed only ten starships. With the Wind God and Orca built and awaiting their first live combat, this was an ideal opportunity to test their power.

With the Storm Fleet's fourth-level intelligent synchronized warp mode and utilizing the star gate transport, they estimated a four-hour journey to the Beast Roar System.

As Feng Mo anticipated, things were unfolding quickly. Inside the control room of the T4 Mammoth-class interstellar carrier, Hua Qin monitored the enemy's steadily increasing numbers. Over three hours, the enemy fleet had amassed over a thousand starships.

Among them were two quasi-T5-class ships, over three hundred T4 ships, and over seven hundred T3 ships. Sensing that the enemy was awaiting reinforcements, they held their position within the interstellar boundary without advancing.

Facing two quasi-T5 starships, Hua Qin knew the Beast Roar Fleet would struggle to match them directly. They would have to rely on the space station for defense, especially with Feng Mo expected in an hour or two.

Although the purpose of this mysterious fleet remained unclear, it clearly wasn't good news. No one gathered a massive fleet on another's interstellar boundary without reason or intent.

Forty minutes later, additional reinforcements joined the enemy, finally prompting them to act. The space station radar completed its scan, triggering an electronic alert.

"Enemy fleet detected: total starships – 2,300, including five quasi-T5 ships, 630 T4 ships, and 1,665 T3 ships."

"Beast Roar Fleet entering defense mode. Escort ships, ready close-in defense cannons to intercept incoming attacks. Space station T4 laser cannons charging."

Hua Qin calmly issued commands. No longer the young secretary trailing Feng Mo's steps, she now commanded an entire fleet—a role akin to a high-ranking warlord in ancient times.

"Commander, the enemy fleet is within range. Awaiting your command!"

"All destroyers, charge main and auxiliary cannons. Space station, lock on to T4 enemy ships and fire three hundred laser cannons! T3 Pugilist, initiate missile barrage!"

Following her orders, the space station unleashed three hundred fully charged T4 laser cannons in a wave of brilliant light that fell upon the enemy's fleet.

The T3 Pugilist launched its own assault, firing five hundred interstellar missiles that blanketed the enemy's front line.

Prepared for the assault, the enemy's four quasi-T5 ships lit up with dazzling beams at their bows, firing several concentrated energy beams that obliterated over a dozen T3 escort ships at the front.

The blasts, undeterred, continued, striking another dozen T4 escort ships and depleting half their shields. Hua Qin's expression remained unchanged. Although the Beast Roar Fleet had lost some escorts, the enemy's losses were far greater.

The combined three hundred T4 laser cannons and five hundred T3 interstellar missiles had inflicted severe damage on the enemy, destroying over a hundred ships, mostly T4s.

"Battleships and destroyers, fire main and auxiliary cannons! Carrier drones, deploy for full assault. Explosive drones, charge into enemy clusters and detonate. Anti-ship drones, focus on attacking the quasi-T5 ships. Don't worry about casualties—logistics fleet, remain ready to supply all needs."

The T4 Mammoth-class carrier, equipped with a launch system, quickly deployed drones, sending them directly into the enemy fleet. Typically, after one bombing run, fewer than 30% of drones would return, but these losses were manageable.

Positioned behind the combat fleet, ten T3 Copper Hammer-class industrial starships ramped up production of drones, manufacturing them faster than they were being expended.

As both sides fired relentless volleys of laser beams, the battle evolved into a test of starship durability and logistical endurance. Although the Beast Roar Fleet was outmatched in number and quality, its logistical strength provided resilience.

By this time, the Storm Fleet's ten starships had quietly arrived in the Beast Roar System. Equipped with T5 radar, Feng Mo's fleet could detect the enemy fleet without being detected themselves.

"Mello, have four T4 Scorpions infiltrate the enemy's rear. Orca, release all drones, targeting the enemy flagship. Wind God, join for the decapitation strike. Hurricane and Mammoth, free to engage as you see fit."

Issuing the sequence of orders, Feng Mo sent the Wind God in first, cruising at a rapid 460 star-speed towards the enemy fleet, unbothered by the range gap. With T5-class warship shielding, only a quasi-T5 attack could pose a threat.

Simultaneously, Ai Er's Orca launched over 1,100 drones, sending them surging toward the enemy fleet.

Inside the enemy flagship's control room, an alert blared repeatedly.

"Warning! Unknown vessels detected. Scanning… Scan complete. Detected two T5 starships, two quasi-T5 starships, two T4 bio-ships, and numerous T5 drones locked onto our fleet!"

The relentless warnings shocked the high-ranking leader aboard the flagship. T5-class starships? According to prior intelligence, Feng Mo only possessed two quasi-T5 ships and just over a hundred T4s.

They had gathered a fleet with four quasi-T5 ships and over two thousand mixed T4 and T3 vessels, believing it a foolproof strategy. Yet here Feng Mo had two full T5-class starships, causing this leader to question their intelligence reports.

It was a classic bait-and-trap maneuver, luring out the New Humanity Church's forces bit by bit for annihilation. The leader even suspected the two T5 ships might be Federation assets placed here to ambush them.

It was too late to retreat. With a T5 starship in range, its Star Annihilator Cannon had undoubtedly locked onto their flagship.

In the Wind God's control room, Han Peipei reported from beside Feng Mo.

"T5-class Cluster Star Annihilator Cannon fully charged, auto-targeting enemy flagship. Awaiting command!"

"Fire!" Feng Mo commanded, his voice icy. This was the perfect opportunity to test the Wind God's power. At his word, a massive brown energy sphere condensed, transforming into a beam that tore forward like a relentless battering ram, obliterating any ship in its path before slamming into the quasi-T5 flagship's shields.

The shields shattered instantly, and the flagship was pierced through, the beam continuing on to rip through three T4 ships before finally dissipating.
