Slaughterer's Ode To The Blade

"Uuhh.. Well.. I was in the IAI Department actually."

"Eh?! Really?! I thought you'd be on the warrior department or maybe in the scholar department!"

"Well.. you know it just kinda happened! Haha!"

Eiji could only laugh embarrassed.

They had been given instructions that when someone asks what department they are in, it would be the IAI Department.

So even if right now a member of the IAI Department and even their commander comes, they would nod their head at Eiji's words even if they haven't seen or known Eiji in their own Department building.

"Ohh!! So what's it like?! Do you guys really do acting and torture?!"

Lime was clearly very interested in the IAI Department, but Eiji wasn't. He doesn't even know that they do stuff like that!

"Haha! Well.. I can't really tell you that.. you know... Secret stuff!"

"Oh!"

Lime was disappointed but didn't press on.

"How about you Lime?! How are things in the warrior department?!"

"Well! You know! I was in an old team. And as a rookie, being in an old team with veterans really helps.

I saw Renji once and his team was a newly made team and they only had a single veteran, no! That guys was just at the department for only a year and was tasked to guide the newbies!"

Eiji nodded his head.

"Then what about Newark?!"

"Oh! I haven't seen him since the party but I heard his team was also balanced. Half of them were newbies while the other half were veterans! And as for the others, well most of them were like Renji, they were in a newly created team with only a single so called veteran!"

Seems like Lime was keeping up with their classmates or the close friends ones, even if she hasn't seen them but still knows their general news.

"Hmm! Have you finished your training then?!"

Eiji asked.

"Not really! It's just been half a year. Most of the time we're training to get stronger as well as our cooperations as a unit.

Although we have started taking in missions, it was just simple E rank missions! Like guarding a store for a night.

Although there are fights that's just fighting and killing a half magic beast that managed to get in the city or outside the roads blocking the way!"

Lime pouted.

"Haha!"

Eiji laughed. Knowing clearly that Lime wants to show off.

"Yesterday we had to fight a nearly magic beast in a form of a monkey!

It wasn't strong but it was too agile! It even threw its own feces at us! I got hit in my arm! The smell was so baadd! I had to take a shower three times!"

"Hahahah!"

Eiji now laughed loudly at Lime.

"Hey! Stop laughing! It wasn't as bad as my teammates! One of them even got some in his mouth!

He was vomiting so much! And he looked pale and sick! That's why the leader gave us a day off today!"

Eiji and Lime continued their chat.

Then Eiji saw the time and it was nearly lunch so he decided to ask Lime for lunch.

"Lime! Lets go look for a place to eat lunch!"

"Okay!"

Lime agreed and they went to look for a restaurant inside the building.

After finding a restaurant both of them started eating and telling stories of their days in their respective departments.

Although it was just mostly Lime who's talking, Eiji would sometimes tell stories in his training albeit in a more undetailed way.

Time passed and it was afternoon.

As someone from a huge clan and a strict upbringing, Lime had to go back to her house before her curfew.

Especially so when she was supposed to be in there today training rather than here shopping all day!

So the both of them parted ways.

Eiji went to his home and so did Lime.

When Lime arrived at her clan, it was quiet as usual.

She went in and walked towards her room.

Then she saw her father sitting in the living room drinking tea.

"Where were you?! You have a day off today, but you were still supposed to be training, correct?!"

Karma sked without looking at Lime.

"Well.. I was buying suplies in the store... And I saw one of my friends and we ... Chatted for a bit."

Lime asnwered softly.

"Hmm? Who?!"

Lime hesitated but still answered.

"E..Eiji."

"Hmm.. and which department was he in?!"

"He.. he told me he was in IAI Department..."

"? IAI Department?! Oh!"

Karma was perplexed at first then understood.

"Okay! Go back to your room and wash up. You still have to go to work tomorrow!"

"I understand father!"

Lime ran towards her room as Karma was in the living room thinking.

"Hmm.. Assassinations Department huh..."

As one of the strongest swordsman and a clan leader of a huge clan as well as one of the Grand Duke, Karma was aware of many secrets within the kingdom.

He could even be one of the commanders in any department but was too focused on the clan to care about other things.

'With that brat, Eiji's ability, he could have also been invited in the Shimin Training Department, but I guess Muri had a talk about him about that.

But with Muri's personality he should have told Eiji about the difference between the two departments.

So.. this should have been a decision that that brat Eiji decided.'

Karma calmly analyzed but didn't dwell on it.

Regardless of what Muri or Eiji's paths were, as long as they don't become enemies he doesn't care.

And it was also beneficial for Lime if she has someone she could trust, especially in that dark department!
