Chapter 946: 943: Brujah Clan
"Run."
Without waiting for a response from Pamela, Corey executed Lightning Step, and he ran to his right, going down the ridge in the blink of an eye, leaving behind a trail of black tribulation lightning.
But before he reached the end of the top of the ridge, the world Thrummed, and the beasts that had been hiding because of the awakening of the Immortal Leopard split in two a second later.
They could not resist the full force of his Phantom Plague Axe Heart Intent, especially when they were all caught off guard.
Two dozen beasts ranging from Tier 4s to Tier 6s died as quickly as they came into the world.
Grrr!!!!
Meanwhile, the stunned expression on Pamela's face instantly vanished when she heard the growl of pain and rage from the Immortal Leopard, and also the screams of warning from the runes of the world.
"Shit."
Her body flashed with lightning, and she instantly disappeared, leaving behind a wake of destruction caused by her lightning movement technique.
A second after she disappeared, the Immortal Leopard appeared in her previous location and swiped his claw at the ground in fury.
The ground remained intact for a fraction of a second before it was split into pieces down to nearly half of the ridge.
A swipe of the claw of the Immortal Leopard in anger had nearly split the ridge in two, and the world trembled as the Immortal Leopard breathed in fury.
The silver horns on its head glowed with a menacing silver light, and the Immortal Leopard roared to the sky in so much fury that the sky turned dark due to its aura.
"I'LL KILL YOU!!!!"
Massive cracks appeared on the ridge, and the Immortal Leopard vanished, leaving behind an after image of not only itself but of a non-shattered ground.
A second later, the after image vanished and the ground completely crumbled. It nearly reached where the Celestial Dewfern was growing, but as luck would have it, it stopped just before it reached it.
Silence prevailed at top of the ridge, and only the sounds of the turbulent winds could be heard.
But a few moments later, a ripple occurred in the very position the Celestial Dewfern had been, and a silver talisman could be seen.
And that was not all, an untouched Celestial Dewfern also appeared, and then the silver talisman began to emit a silver glow.
----
As the talisman he left behind activated, Corey was inwardly cursing his luck and the decisions he made to reach such a situation because he truly felt like he might die at any moment.
The first part of his plan which was to make the Immortal Leopard chase him had worked, but it had worked too well.
Never did he think he would encounter a situation where he would get in a troublesome situation because he worked too well or his plan worked to perfection.
Making a freaking Tier 7 furious to the point where he could literally taste the killing intent from behind him was not part of his plan at all.
He just wanted to trick the Immortal Leopard so that it would follow them, but he had ended up making it angry in the process, and to be honest, he sort of expected such a situation.
But that did not mean he liked it in the slightest.
'Time to drag you into this mess.'
His bloody eyes flashed with a dangerous glint as he touched a claw attack of the Immortal Leopard.
He looked at a particular direction where the group of sixteen individuals were hiding.
-----
Through a reliable source of theirs, they had gotten information that there was a priceless treasure, a Grade 7 herb to be specific, at the top of the ridge.
They were told that the ridge was extremely dangerous and it was filled with a lot of Tier 6 beasts.
Knowing how important and valuable a Grade 7 herb was, they sent sixteen individuals from their force, with one being on the verge of becoming one of the pillars of their clan.
They were vampires, and they were from the Brujah Clan.
Although they encountered a lot of dangerous beasts, especially powerful Tier 6 beasts, they could handle everything.
They were many, and no matter how strong the beasts were, with their numbers, they could defeat them easily.
Despite everything going so smoothly for them, the leader of the group, Raj Brujah, had a terrible premonition that something was off.
He could not put his hand on it, but his instincts were warning him that something particularly dangerous was at the top of the ridge.
At first, he wanted to ignore it but when he felt a perception spread from the top of the ridge, his heart nearly stopped because of terrifying and powerful this perception was.
He felt like an ant before it, and without anybody telling him, he already knew that the source of the perception was a Tier 7.
He was very familiar with Tier 7s since Tier 7s were present in their clans, and he was close to becoming a Tier 7 himself.
In fact, it was for this very reason he was leading the group because he had won the right to consume the Celestial Dewfern if he could obtain it.
But if he knew that there was a Tier 7 at the top of the ridge, he would never have said he wanted to obtain the Celestial Dewfern despite the fact that it was most likely more than enough for him to advance to Tier 7.
Tier 7s were like gods to Mystic Beings like him. A Tier 7 could kill him with a wave of their hand, and knowing that there was one removed every thought in his heart to obtain the Celestial Dewfern.
However, just as he was about to give out the order to retreat, he perceived two more auras.
The auras did not make him to feel like an ant before them, but it possessed a sort of mystery and depth that felt unfathomable to him.
