Chapter 945: 942: Hey. Run
'Shit.'
The expressions of Corey, Pamela, and the Immortal Leopard changed the moment the Immortal Leopard swung its claws at Corey.
Pamela was shaken by the power behind the claw because she had a feeling that the chances of it destroying her strongest defense was above ninety percent (90%), and it wasn't close to the Immortal Leopard's strongest attack.
The Immortal Leopard who had unleashed the attack had a worried expression because it suddenly realized that Corey was with the Celestial Dewfern, and his attack could destroy the Celestial Dewfern.
'Damn it!'
Panic and anger surged through its eyes as it could only wait to devour whatever remains of the Celestial Dewfern, and then brutally cut both Corey and Pamela into pieces.
'It's their fault that this is happening. If they had not been greedy and just left me alone, the Celestial Dewfern would have been mine.'
Corey could feel the anger and panic from the Immortal Leopard, but he could care less about its feelings when he was about to die.
The power behind the claw attack was stronger than one of his strongest attacks, Paragon Martial Arts: Cosmos Cleave.
He had never felt the power of a Tier 7 before, and feeling the terrifying pressure of just a single swipe of a weakened and injured Tier 7 beast made him to realize that he had no chance in defeating it.
'Maybe if I used Crown of the Lifeless Sovereign and Scythe of the Final Breath, I would be able to deal a lot of damage to it, but the crown will kill me before the Immortal Leopard kills me.'
'If I advance to Tier 4, would I be able to defeat it?'
As these thoughts flashed through his mind, Corey's mind was filled with so many ways to survive.
And although he had several, many of them required him to sacrifice a part of his body or severely injure himself, and he could not do that.
He could also not use the Gravenheart Armor because his Devourer's Armor would try to kill him unless he destroyed his Devourer's Armor.
And he was not willing to do that since he had plans for his Devourer's Armor.
Knowing that his Gravenheart Armor was out of the option, he decided to use a skill which he had never used before because of the enemies he always fought.
He slowed down time.
Being able to slow down time was an ability he obtained ever since he awakened his Void Phoenix Heart.
With the power of the void, he could manipulate both space and time much more easily, efficiently, and faster than those with even extremely high talents in space and time separately.
He could have used this ability a lot of times in the past, but he chose not to for several reasons.
One was that he did not need it against Tier 6s or Tier 5s.
Another was that for beings that were as strong as the Throne of the Shattered Dimension of the Old Ones and Death, slowing down time was pointless because whether he slowed down time around them or himself, they would be able to ignore the slowed time like it did not exist.
At their power level, they could also manipulate time, and despite the fact that he was more talented that them, he was much much weaker than them.
And he was still a mortal despite his talents and capabilities.
As for why he decided to this now?
It was because he had no intentions of defeating the Immortal Leopard, and slowing down time while the Immortal Leopard was clearly distracted would save his life.
'Also, it takes a lot of void energy for my current realm of power. Controlling time is more difficult and complex.'
Corey's eyes flashed with a cold light, and a grey light pulsed from his heart.
The world became grey, and Corey's eyes transformed to his Tri-Pupil Eyes as everything in the world slowed down for a second.
Pamela. The Immortal Leopard. The claw attack, the insects and the trembling stones on the ground all slowed down.
Corey glanced at Pamela and the Immortal Leopard, and he instantly knew that in three seconds at most, they'll be able to break free from the slowed time.
And so would the attack of the Immortal Leopard.
The world would still be slowed down, but they themselves would not because they could also manipulate time.
'I caught them off guard this time around, but it won't happen so easily again.'
Corey's Tri-Pupil Eyes glowed, and the two golden triangles in his eyes rotated as he looked at the Immortal Leopard.
"Ah."
A groan of pain escaped his lips as a stream of blood fell from the corner of his eyes.
Despite the veins on his head and neck, his bloody eyes was fixed on the Immortal Leopard who was now in his place, directly in front of its attack.
He had never tried to switch places with a Tier 7 before, and he knew that the amount of energy that he would need would be astronomical.
'It feels like a nuke just went off in my head.'
Although his Stars of Consciousness had calculated how much energy he would spend, he was still off by a few percentage.
'About 90% of my total mana, spiritual energy, and mental energy. That has to be the highest amount of energy I've spent at once.'
Just as Corey had this thought, Pamela and the Immortal Leopard already adapted to the reduced flow of time, but it was too late for the Immortal Leopard.
Corey reversed the flow of time back to normal, and before the Immortal Leopard could react, its claw attack crashed into him.
Roar!!!!!
A roar of disbelief, shock, and pain was released by the Immortal Leopard as its claw attack tore into its face and chest, causing a rather deep wound that bled silver.
Roar!!!!
The Immortal Leopard took several steps back while closing its eyes because of the pain, and Corey looked at Pamela who was completely stunned.
"Hey."
She looked at him.
"Run."
