Single Wish: Rise Of The Omniscient Paragon

Chapter 491: 490: Raegar's Death

As the hundred wind swords were a centimetre from piercing right through Raegar's body, time stopped and the wind swords froze mid-air.

Pamela's indifferent expression froze, and her fingers which were in a snapping motion remained frozen, along her clothes.

The dark clouds along with the bolts of lightning in the clouds froze and stopped moving. Even the wind stopped moving.

In this world of stopped time, the only strange scene would be the frozen figure of Raegar.

His red pupils shook intensely, and a second later, small arcs of crimson lightning flashed around his frozen figure.

This continued a few more times, and then steam could be seen oozing out from his frozen figure.

His right arm which was holding his greatsword shook intensely, and the veins on his muscles could be seen vividly.

The rune tattoos on his shoulder and upper arms glowed brightly with a red light, and some seconds later, a roar escaped his lips.

"ROOOOAAARRR!!!"

SHATTER!

The moment he roared, arcs of crimson lightning flew haphazardly around him along with the shattered parts of the ice sphere.

Raegar exhaled and inhaled deeply with a murderous light in his eyes. Water dripped down his body, and when he looked at his soaking wet body, the killing intent in his eyes increased.

However, along with this killing intent was a tinge of disbelief in the depth of his eyes as he gazed at Pamela.

'I used more than 20% of my energy reserves just to escape from her ice sphere… There's no way she's a human.'

Raegar thought with a stoic expression, and then he looked behind him.

His red eyes reflected the image of a reddish-green barrier in the distance. The barrier had translucent vines creeping around it.

The barrier had a radius of three kilometres, and inside the barrier were the figures of Corey, Selene, and Aethara.

Raegar glanced at the trio for a few seconds, and his eyes were fixated on Aethara.

"I didn't know she could invoke an Imperium."

Raegar had a solemn expression as he gazed at the transformed Aethara. Just as he was about to remove his gaze from her, he saw Aethara glance in his direction.

Her gaze contained nothing but indifference, calmness, and a sort of superiority and disdain towards him, and when Raegar noticed this, his eyes flashed coldly.

"This bitch."

"I only know of her transformation to the Fallen Angel of Rot… She never told me anything about her Imperium… So she was hiding it."

Raegar spat with anger in his eyes, and then he shifted his gaze back to Pamela.

"It doesn't matter… I'll kill her, capture and torture that Tier 2 for eternity, and then deal with her."

Raegar took a step forward, and then he approached the frozen Pamela.

"I should also torture you for an eternity just like your partner, but unfortunately, you're more unpredictable than the Tier 2 and I can't take any chances with you."

Raegar slowly raised the greatsword in his left hand, and then he spoke with a calm and indifferent tone.

"After I deal with all of you, I'll make sure to organize a meeting to deal with all you Outsiders. You guys are the scourge of-"

PUCHI

Raegar's eyes widened in shock and disbelief as he stared at Pamela who was yawning with a bored expression.

"You talk so fucking much, old man."

Pamela's voice drifted into his ears, but Raegar could not get angry because of the immense shock and disbelief that threatened to consume his heart and mind.

He slowly looked down, and then he saw a spear made of the wind in his left chest, precisely where his heart was.

"H-How?"

Raegar stuttered and looked at Pamela. When he did, he suddenly felt a sense of inferiority complex as he gazed into Pamela's silver eyes which had the symbol of infinity in them.

'What… What the hell is she?'

As Raegar had this thought, Pamela tilted her head to the side with a playful light flashing in her eyes along with a playful smile on her lips.

"Do you mean how I was able to move even though you stopped time?"

Raegar did not respond but Pamela knew that she was right.

Pamela chuckled with a light smile, and then she spoke.

"Well, as I said before unless you can manipulate runes, see them, or have some knowledge of them, then there's no way somebody of your calibre can defeat me."

"To put it in a way that would be easy for you to understand, I interacted and manipulated the temporal runes around me so that I would not be affected by your Time Freeze skill."

"It was fairly easy because your knowledge of time and space is not deep enough. If it was, it would have been extremely difficult for me to manipulate the temporal runes around me."

Raegar stared at Pamela with a blank gaze after hearing her words.

His Time Freeze skill was an ability he obtained after climbing the Stairs of Ascension. It was one of the abilities he was able to comprehend on the Stairs of Ascension, and this ability made other Ascendants wary of him.

His Time Freeze skill made it possible for him to stop the flow of time in a radius of fifty meters (50m), and this skill was a coveted skill among other Ascendants, but Pamela's words and actions made it seem like his skill was trash that should be thrown away.

Although there were thousands of Ascendants in the shattered dimension of the Old Ones, he was among the top 5% in terms of strength, and because of this, he was respected and feared throughout the shattered dimension of the Old Ones.

Even the Principalities and Powers of the shattered dimension respected him and were also wary of him.

But here he was, dying in the hands of a female Tier 4 in a manner he could not comprehend.

'There are so many things wrong with how I'm about to die… Not only is a mere wind sword not meant to be able to pierce through my body, but the rate at which it's slowly killing me is unbelievable.'

'I can feel countless wind blades moving throughout my body, destroying it with a precision that's beyond frightening… Everything… Everything about my death makes no sense.'

'I could not even use most of my skills… I lost because I could not understand her strange abilities.'

Raegar slowly looked at Pamela with eyes that were filled with unwillingness and a desire to live.

Pamela smiled, and then she puckered her lips in a mocking manner.

"Awwwn, you want to live."

Before Raegar could even blink or reply, Pamela clenched her right fist, and a second later, Raegar's body split apart into countless tiny pieces. Even his blood was not spared.

"You've wasted too much of my time, I want to watch his battle without being interrupted."
