Chapter 492: 491: Sneak Attack
"You've wasted too much of my time, I want to watch his battle without interruption."
After Raegar's death, Pamela spoke in an indifferent tone and expression. Still, a second later, her eyes widened in realization and she shouted while clutching her head with a pained face and teary eyes.
"Nooooo!!!"
"I destroyed his body entirely!... That was my chance to obtain an Ascendant's body to study!"
"I should have controlled my anger and irritation."
Pamela fell to her knees, and genuine tears poured down her eyes as she gazed at the bloodied and the remaining pieces of Raegar.
The more she gazed at the Raegar's 'body', the more pain and sorrow she felt in her heart.
"Damn it all."
More tears poured down her eyes, and she slammed her fist in the air, and a small shockwave erupted as a result of this.
Pamela sniffed after some seconds, and then she slowly wiped the tears from her eyes as she got to her feet. She gritted her teeth with a pained expression, and then she waved her hand.
When she did, the puddle of blood mixed with flesh and bones disappeared. She stored what was remaining of Raegar's.
"Maybe I do need therapy on my anger and irritation."
Pamela mumbled softly, and then she looked at the barrier of Aethara's Imperium with bright eyes.
"I never knew that she'd have an Imperium. No wonder the runes warned me about her."
Pamela stroked her chin some seconds later with a calculating light in her eyes.
"Hmm, just looking at her Imperium is giving me some inspiration for my Imperium."
The gears in Pamela's mind spun as she gazed at the barrier of Aethara's Imperium. Unlike Aethara who had an Imperium, Pamela surprisingly did not possess one.
However, this was not because Aethara was more talented than her, absolutely not. If Pamela wanted, she could create an Imperium on the spot, but she chose not to.
She wanted an Imperium that would resonate with her soul and entire being. She wanted her perfect Imperium, but she wasn't able to visualize her perfect Imperium.
"Maybe-"
Pamela's pupils constricted to the limit when she felt the runes and her instincts scream at her.
In less than a fraction of a second, a sky-blue rotating sphere appeared around her body, and the instant it did, she saw it.
A jaw that defied common sense along with teeth that made her seem like an ant appeared in her sight.
Pamela felt her heart skip multiple beats the moment she saw the beyond-titanic teeth of her attacker.
At a speed that was faster than the blink of her eye, the jaw closed shut, and a massive shockwave shattered the skies and earth beneath her.
SCREEEEEEEECCCCCHHHHHHH!!!!!
An extremely loud and grating screeching sound reverberated across the entire Raging Sky the moment a tooth of the jaw collided with Pamela's barrier.
Pamela could feel her heart working faster than it was meant to as she gazed at the titanic tooth that was stopped by her barrier. The distance between the tooth and her skull was less than an inch, allowing her to sense the power in just a mere tooth.
Her eyes widened slightly when she saw cracks appearing on her barrier.
'How is that possible!'
She screamed inwardly, but a second later, her eyes widened the more in sheer disbelief when she saw arcs of crimson electricity flicker around the tooth, and in the blink of her eye, a thin bolt of crimson lightning moved across the tooth and struck her barrier.
The runes around her screamed into her ears, and just as the thin crimson bolt of lightning was an inch from touching her barrier, she vanished.
KA---------- BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
An explosion that had two parts to it resounded across the Raging Sky, causing more destruction to the environment in a radius of more than a kilometer.
The first part of the explosion was somewhat silent, but at the same time was not, hearing it causes an annoying ringing sound to be stuck in one's ears. Meanwhile, the second stage of the explosion was extremely loud, and if one was not careful, even a Tier 4 would have a heart attack.
As the earth and skies trembled, shook, and wailed as a result of this attack, the barrier of Aethara's Imperium had no signs of damage on it.
This was not a result of Pamela's attacker avoiding the Imperium.
No.
The barrier and quality of Aethara's Imperium were just that high and ridiculously insane.
Hovering above the Imperium was Pamela. In a normal situation, she would have appreciated the quality of Aethara's Imperium or maybe she would have decided to inspect it, but her mind was entirely fixed on her attacker.
The sight of her attacker was completely out of her expectations.
In the darker than normal, more turbulent, more chaotic and ominous, and much louder skies was a monster, an abomination, a nightmare unlike anything Pamela had ever heard of.
The… being resembled a dragon of legend, but Pamela had seen images of dragons. In fact, she had fought one in the past, and this… being in front of her was nothing like the majestic and noble form of a dragon.
The being was not a creature of scale or sinew, instead, it was a monstrous amalgamation of storm and shattered stone.
Jagged and shattered obsidian-like stones were its scales and flesh, and connecting these obsidian-like stones were veins of murky white energy that crackled and surged across its body, making it look like a storm bound within a fractured shell.
Each piece of its body seemed to float independently, shifting and twisting, held together not by flesh but by a force beyond comprehension.
Its neck, hands, legs, and even wings were not attached by flesh, but by this unseen force that was beyond human comprehension.
Its head alone was a nightmare-given form, elongated and angular, with jagged, mismatched horns arcing outward like the broken spires of a ruined cathedral. Crimson lightning danced between the horns, wild and uncontrolled, and it emitted sharp cracks that echoed like distant gunfire.
Its eyes, if they could even be called that, were twin orbs of searing white light, unblinking and devoid of any semblance of life or mercy. When its maw opened, rows of serrated metallic teeth gleamed, each vibrating with a subtle hum, as though eager to tear into the fabric of the shattered dimension itself.
Apart from all of these, its wings were no less terrifying. They were not physical appendages. They were not flesh or leather, but storms incarnate, shifting tempests. They were swirling vortexes of lightning and wind.

The 'bones' of the wings were jagged arcs of lightning, while translucent membranes flickered and shimmered with the colors of a violent aurora, constantly flickering between shades of electric blue, white, and violent violet.
As the wings spread and flapped, they distorted the air, crackling with energy and creating violent gales and tornadoes that ripped through the ground below.
Its tail lashed violently, ending in a cluster of obsidian-like stone spines that radiated power. Arcs of lightning leaped between the spines, their brightness rivaling the countless lightning bolts above, and each movement of the tail left deep, glowing scars on the ground below.
'What the fuck is this thing?'
