Single Wish: Rise Of The Omniscient Paragon

Chapter 484: 483: I've Watched Enough

When Corey looked at the wooden abomination that grabbed his arm, he noticed that the core in its solar plexus was brighter than normal. The wooden abomination was a third-grade abomination, a Nightmare.

This was comparable to a Tier 3 monster.

Although the wooden abomination was a Nightmare, its core was glowing as bright as a Tier 4, and he was taken aback by this.

However, his instincts screamed at him the following second, and then he noticed something frightening as he observed the battlefield from a bird's eye view with his Eyes of Omniscience.

All the cores of every single wooden abomination he could see with his Eyes of Omniscience were glowing brighter than normal.

'What the fuck?'

Corey cursed inwardly when he saw that deep within the wooden abomination were streaks of lightning moving around the body of the wooden abomination.

'They want to explode?'

Corey quickly made a hand sign. He joined the index fingers of his right and left hand together, along with his thumbs while his remaining fingers were tucked into his palm.

The instant Corey did this, Selene vanished from his back, and what took her place was a black centipede with a glowing silver rune on its head.

The instant Selene vanished from his back, Corey's eyes changed. His pure white eyes receded and his pupils became golden triangles while his iris turned silver.

Tri-Pupil Eyes.

All of this occurred in less than two seconds and in those two seconds, tens of wooden abominations had attacked him, but he used the Runes of Division to create two mini-blades which he then controlled to destroy every wooden abomination that attacked him, including the wooden abomination that held him.

The instant his eyes changed, the triangle in both his eyes rotated 180 degrees in a clockwise direction, and Corey vanished. A flash appeared in Corey's previous position, and another black centipede appeared where Corey previously stood.

Along with the black centipede, the air beside the black centipede rippled and hundreds of humanoid sentinels made of hexagon barriers appeared before turning completely invisible.

The two black centipedes moved their legs as they fell, but a fraction of a second later, a flash engulfed the centipedes and then a cataclysmic explosion along with the rumbling of thunder shook the Imperium.

After Corey and Selene disappeared from their spot, every single wooden abomination glowed brightly and lightning sparks could be seen around their body.

The first wooden abomination to explode was the abomination that held Corey. Despite splitting its core in two, the abomination had not yet died, and when it exploded, thick arcs of crimson lightning shot out from its body.

The lightning hit the wooden abominations, and this caused a chain reaction where every wooden abomination that was hit also exploded. This continued from wooden abominations to wooden abominations, and if one watched this scene from above, one would be awed by what one would see.

From above, it looked like a net of lightning that was spreading faster than even the speed of lightning.

Continuous explosive sounds along with the rumbling of thunder and its thunderclaps shook Aethara Imperium.

The ground shattered. Debris flew haphazardly, and an extremely huge dust cloud moved across the Imperium.

'Damn.'

As all of these occurred, Corey stood close to a massive root of the Tree of Rot with his pure white eyes gazing at the tens of thousands of wooden abominations exploding while releasing arcs of lightning in their wake.

A slight chill crawled up his spine when he thought of his fate if he had delayed his escape for even a second.

There was no way he could have survived such an attack no matter how unique and powerful he was.

Corey quickly shifted his gaze from the crimson lightning net into the distance, and then he frowned deeply.

Reflecting in his eyes was the image of Selene on the floor with a slightly pained expression on her unconscious face.

'Approximately three hundred meters… Fortunately, it's not too far.'

Corey thought with a sigh of relief as he stood.

When Corey asked Aethara if there was a chance of letting bygones be bygones, he released some centipedes from his body using the skill, Toxic Familiar.

The centipedes had already prepared runes on their heads, and these runes were spatial runes that he could use to exchange the positions of those he had marked like Selene with the centipedes.

Corey could not teleport normally in Aethara's Imperium, however, his Tri-Pupils could still manipulate space and he could switch positions with whatever he laid his eyes on.

One of the things Corey had learned before the Battle of Chosens was to create runes that could exchange the positions of two objects, whether living or non-living.

This rune was based on the ability of the Tri-Pupil Eyes, and to learn how to create this rune, he had even asked Nina to offer him some advice, which she did.

Creating the rune was not difficult, and to Corey's surprise when he was learning how to create it, such a rune was not 'unique' compared to other runes, formations, and arrays.

However, what made the rune he learned special was that the rune was connected to his Tri-Pupil Eyes. According to Nina, the rune used the energy and aura of his Tri-Pupil Eyes for it to have a similar effect and ability of his Tri-Pupil Eyes.

If the rune was not connected to his Tri-Pupil Eyes, there was no way it would have worked, and there was no way he would have been able to teleport Selene away from the horde of wooden abominations, and that would have led to her death.

Whenever Corey used his Tri-Pupil Eyes to exchange places with objects or other people, he could not bring people with him.

'I didn't want to use the centipedes so early, but it is what it is then… I guess I have to go with another plan.'

Corey ran towards Selene with his Eyes of Omniscience fully activated. His focus was mainly on Selene, the Tree of Rot which was staring at him with red eyes filled with malice and hatred, and… Aethara?

'Where is she?!'

Corey's eyes widened in shock and disbelief, and just as he had this thought, he froze in disbelief.

"I was wondering what plans you had for those centipedes, and I must say… I'm a little bit surprised."

Aethara's soft, indifferent, malicious, and ethereal voice flowed into Corey's ears, and Corey's eyes shook when he saw Aethara standing beside Selene.

Her piercing gold eyes shifted from Selene to Corey, and then she indifferently spoke.

"I think I've watched enough."
