Chapter 483: 482: What The Fuck?
The two steps that Corey took destroyed approximately thirty-five percent (35%) of the horde of wooden abominations.
The vibrations he sent out killed and destroyed ten percent (10%) of the horde, while the massive wall of Dreamfire he sent out killed and destroyed twenty-five percent (25%) of the horde of wooden abominations.
Although it seemed like killing a mere 35% was small, 35% of the horde in front of Corey were in the thousands, and it was an unbelievable feat for a Tier 2.
Not only did it show that Corey's proficiency with his skills was extremely high, it also showed just how massive Corey's energy reservoirs were for him to unleash just two skills that could kill thousands of wooden abominations that were comparable to Tier 1s, Tier 2s, Tier 3s, and even Tier 4s.
Sweat poured down Corey's forehead as he exhaled and inhaled deeply while holding his Genesis Armament.
His pure white eyes gazed at the destruction before him, and for a moment, even he was surprised by the effects of his attack.
His Vibration Manipulation had caused fissures and cracks to appear on the ground, and remnants of his Dreamfire could still be seen.
Some wooden abominations unleashed inhuman shrieks as his Dreamfire burnt them while releasing plumes of smoke. The wooden abominations that were not burnt by his Dreamfire avoided those that had even a spark of Dreamfire on them like a plague.
Because of this, there was a massive gap in the horde of the wooden abominations, and in this massive gap, remnant flames of his Dreamfire could be seen on the ground, adding a sort of beauty to the chaos of Aethara's Imperium.
Corey gazed at the reactions of the wooden abominations, and then he glanced at the Tree of Rot with a pondering light in his eyes.
When he released eighty percent (80%) of his Dreamfire on the horde of the wooden abominations, a loud shriek that was like the dying subtle screech of a falling star reverberated across Aethara's Imperium, and this shriek was from the Tree of Rot.
Most would not be able to realize the source of the shriek and some might even think that it was the wooden abominations that released the shriek, however, with Corey's Paragon senses, Eyes of Omniscience, and Ears of Omniscience, he knew that it was the Tree of Rot that shrieked.
'I guess I was right… That tree is alive… It's most likely the Titan she fused with… What would happen if I killed it instead of Aethara… Would it weaken her?'
Corey shifted his gaze from the Tree of Rot to Aethara, who was still hovering in the air with a completely indifferent gaze in her piercing gold eyes.
'Unfortunately, I only have about 5% of my dream energy left… I can only use what I have left to heal Selene… My body and Poison Infinity Crystal are already adapting to the rot in the air.'
Lightning sparks appeared on his feet, and then he clenched his axe tightly.
Lightning Step.
Corey executed Lightning Step once more, and then he dashed into the massive gap in the horde with his axe in his right hand and Selene on his back.
In less than a fraction of a second, Corey appeared in the gap, and at first, the wooden abominations chose not to attack him because of their fear of the Dreamfire.
However, a few moments later, as if they had received either courage or orders from Aethara, the wooden abominations ignored their fear of the Dreamfire and charged at Corey.
Corey's eyes flashed, and then a rune on his Genesis Armament lit up.
Earth Manifestation Rune
As he ran, he swung his axe to the right, and the instant he did, multiple rocks and boulders appeared and flew toward the approaching wooden abominations.
Boom!
Bang!
Bang!
Bang!
Hundreds of wooden abominations were crushed and died under Corey's attack. However, without even bothering to look at the result of his attack, Corey had already swung his Genesis Armament to his left, and a similar scene occurred.
Hundreds of wooden abominations were also crushed and died under his attack. However, such deaths seemed insignificant when one looked at the thousands of wooden abominations that were approaching Corey.
Corey knew this, but he was not deterred. He continued running towards the massive Tree of Rot while executing Lightning Step.
Although Corey was moving at a speed that was close to the speed of lightning, there was no way he could go through the horde of wooden abominations just because he was moving at an extremely fast speed.
Approximately three seconds later, Corey found himself before a wooden abomination that emitted the aura of a Tier 3, and he swung his axe which glowed with a translucent light that emitted sharpness and heaviness.
Axe Intent.
Corey's Eyes of Omniscience glowed, and in his gaze, he could see the internal structure of the wooden abomination.
Although he had already seen the internal structures of the wooden abominations before, seeing it so close was a little surprising to him.
Assuming one did not have a skill like his Eyes of Omniscience, one would fail to realize that the wooden abominations could not just be killed with a casual strike or skill.
Even if Corey cut a wooden abomination in two, it would regenerate.
The wooden abominations had a core in their solar plexus, and if one failed to either break it or cut it in two, the wooden abominations would always regenerate unless one had a skill that was their nemesis like Dreamfire.
One of the differences between a wooden abomination that was akin to a Tier 3 and a wooden abomination that was similar to a Tier 1 was that their cores were tougher to destroy.
However, such a thing did not bother Corey in the slightest.
Corey's axe hummed, and he cut the wooden abomination in two, especially its core. He dashed past the wooden abomination, and when he saw the tens of wooden abominations in front of him, he stopped using Lightning Step and swung his axe horizontally.
A rune on his axe lit up, and when it did, a large red claw manifested from his axe, and then it split the wooden abominations in two.
Claw Rune
Once again, without waiting to see the result of his attack, Corey dashed past the wooden abominations.
However, and to his immense disbelief, one of the wooden abominations grabbed his arm.
Corey snapped his head toward the wooden abomination in shock and disbelief, but just as he did, his Eyes of Omniscience saw something strange about the wooden abomination.
Before he could even ponder on this strangeness he noticed, his instincts screamed at him, and his eyes widened when he realized what the strangeness was.
'What the fuck?'
